Daily Summary.

Feast or famine.

After 2 days of total inactivity, everything sprung back to life yesterday, & we had our busiest & biggest investing day ever, most of which remains unsettled going into the weekend. We are roughly break-even before unsettled stuff.

First, the darts. I messed up the bet originally, completely my bad. I'm accepting that as an off-thread "personal" bet, it's wrong to charge it to the thread when it was my error. As it happens, it worked out OK on balance. Long story that, for another day.  The bet was an incredible fun sweat, too, & but for one bad leg, when Barney got in a mess with doubles, (& Taylor failed to prevent him even throwing at doubles, which was the idea), would have even taken the "wrong" bet.

Sparrow found us a lovely little bet on the Spanish football, & we were cruising until the goalie got sent off, then it all went downhill.

The rest of the activity was all for this weekend's football, & I still have the Everton Liverpool recommend to dither bimble about.

Have gone a bit silly on Swansea, busted the rules (spare me the sermons pleasse, I know, I know...) but Camel has it as Premiership bet of the season, & it all seems to make sense, so lets do it.

We have an Aussue Rules affair this morning too. Bounce off chaps & all that.

Misses.....

horseplayer's super "long-priced winners @ Aintree" jobbie is poused to win if it holds. Good luck those on. Which excludes me.

Not done the Newcastle Top 4, or any of the relegation bets yet, the bimbling continues, but I think I missed the market in both cases.

That apart, the main feature today is the Barnet pot-boiler.......

Note - I'll be offline a lot of today, back on late afternoon or early evening.

Not sure if you have an account at bet365, but if you do, Wishful Thinking looks a nice price Each Way in the 3.05 @ 10/1. Big value on the place part.   Most bookies going 1/5th odds but 365 are 1/4

Barnet play Hereford tonight.

This is THE match.

Barnet have 3 points more than bottom placed Hereford, & are at home, Hereford have better GD.

Never was an away win so eagerly anticipated.

Barnet, at home, have won 5, drawn 5, & lost 11.

Hereford away have won 4, drawn 8, & lost 9.

Before I deal with that, yes, I have an Account with 365, Camel had a real moany-woany at me in February when I dared mention I never had an account with some bookie, so I have accounts almost everywhere now. As a general rule, I open accounts with a £250 deposit. If this thread ends, I'll have a right result getting all, or most, of that back.....

Anyway, just logged into 365, & found this message awaiting me, which may or may not interest some of you who happen to have new Accounts threre.

Hi Anthony

This year’s Grand National Meeting gets underway on Thursday, culminating in the world’s greatest race on Saturday 14th April. As always, our great range of offers will ensure you get the most out of the action from Aintree.

bet365 Price Promise
Throughout the Grand National Meeting we will be constantly updating our prices to ensure that we are best price on every horse for all races that are shown live on the BBC.

This applies to all bets placed from 10am each day when a race is being televised live on the BBC. Best price or joint best price will be matched from the following list of Bookmakers: Ladbrokes, William Hill, Paddy Power, Coral, Totesport and Boylesports. Best Odds Guaranteed still applies. Excludes ante-post prices.

So place your Horse Racing bets safe in the knowledge that the bet365 price is the best price.

Feature Race 4/1 Free Bet Offer
Our Feature Race 4/1 Offer includes all races that are shown live on the BBC. Back any single winner at 4/1 or more on a live BBC race from the Grand National Meeting on Thursday, Friday or Saturday and you can have a free bet to the same stake on the next Feature Race.

If your free bet also wins at odds of 4/1 or more, you qualify for a free bet on the next Feature Race. Keep backing those winners and we'll keep giving you free bets!

Enhanced Place Terms and In-Play Betting
To ensure you get the best each-way value, we will be paying 1/4 odds for the first FIVE places on the Grand National. We will also be offering enhanced place terms on other selected races throughout the three days.

Yeah this is one of the feature races, so if it wins you have the bonus of getting the Win part of the stake as a free bet in the 15.40. Effectively it adds close to a point to the win odds for you

ON

£25 EW with 365.

I'm a little confused about this ew betting debate, as to "dirty", "good value", or "only wimps bet ew", but I'll take the flak until it gets resolved.

Phil Peters, yes, of course! Always glued to the screen of his lappie working out some ingenious bet, last time I saw him was in the lobby of the Burlington in Dublin, at the Irish Open a year or two back.

He was a regular at Walsall Grosvenor for donkeys years, his wife - can't recall her name but it was a very unusual name - was a better poker player than Phil imo.

Great guy, though with age, became a little crusty & obdurate. Hope I don't get liike that.

No idea why, but the first bookies shop I ever visited has just come to mind - "Terry Downes". Terry was a boxing champion, bent as a nine bob note, think he sold his chain of shops to Wm Hill for a small fortune. Terry had nothing to do with them I would think, he was not terribly bright upstairs, he was probably just a front.

Funnily enough I bumped into Phil Peters yesterday at DTD during the dinner break. I wandered down to the bar for a glass of wine whilst the queue subsided and he was there buying ciggies and we sat down and had a chat for ten minutes or so. I'd not seen him for a couple of years at least. He's another one who's fallen out with BF since the premium charge came in and I don't think he's using them at all now. A really interesting guy, came 13th in last year's Irish Open too..

He was playing in the "big" £10/£25 ROE cash game with Rob Yong and Bambos when it started up too but I was a little too busy to wander over and see how he was doing.

Not sure this will work, but thanks to those nice peeps at Bet365, you can see "Wishfull Thinking"s last race here. No need to watch for him beyond the 4th fence though.....

I believe a photographer got a close up photo.

It alll got a bit messy at 3 minutes & 30 seconds in, too......

10/1? Sounds huge at first sight!

I've no idea how fans might vote though, who could imagine how they may think?

Assuming they did not give him it already in his retiring season, which I cant remember, I think this is absolutely huge price, came in at Xmas and basically won them the league.  Who else at Man U has had an exceptional year, its been a team effort.
