I paid you & nipple £100 each (50% of your losses) from my personal funds, because that seemed right & proper, as I has been enthusiastic about his idea, & I felt a responsibility for the losses you three guys incurred. I know Mere well enough - too well he might say..... - to even offer him any recompense, though I did try.

I also said that if he failed to show again, I would ensure you two guys were properly settled up. That remains the case.
