hmm I guess I look a mug now. Fair play Doobs/Tikay.

Still maintain it wouldn't have been for me though and can't believe Alexis/Fabregas/Messi missed those chances in the 1st half. I backed Barca 2-0 & 3-0 and would've been confident if bloody Alexis had scored as he should have.

I have to admit though, even though I was on the whole disappointed with every Barca player except Messi, the Chelsea defence were still magnificent.

If Terry and Cahill don't start in the centre for England this summer something is wrong imo.

Not at all. Those of us on Chelsea were obviously thrilled to bits, 9/2 shots in football matches are hard to find, but I doubt even our money-clouded eyes saw Chelsea as anything except very lucky indeed. The result could so easily have been 3 or 4 nil the other way, as they hit the bar early, & somehow missed, or had saved, 3 or 4 good chances.

I definitely felt like a mug most of yesterday, a feeling which persisted until nearly 10pm.

Daily Update, 6.30am, Thursday 19th April.

I have designed & constructed, with no help from anyone whatsoever, a new spreadsheet for the thread, & future Daily Updates will just be a link to that, as the volume of activity was getting a bit much.

Today's headline numbers are....

Profit/Loss April

£2,570 - £2,119 = £451.00 loss, but including £925 of unsettled bets which have been paid, & accounted, for
.

The unsettled bets are all shown on the spreadsheet, as a feature I specifically designed.

See......

Daily Summary.

Phew!

Having invested way too much for the 'roll on Tuesday, & with a huge lump of it unsettled, it was a relief to get a nice cash in the bank, now we only need 1 or 2 of all the unsettled bets to get home & we are nice and comfy.

Doobs gets the medal for Top Tip, with his brave Chelsea tip. Whatever way it is looked at, I think we had that inedible thing called "value", thats all that matters. We got lucky, no doubt, but thats all part of it, & we have been unlucky a few times, so I'll take it. Take a bow, Doobs.

We made a Greek "under 2.5 goals " bet which narrowly failed, when the net was hit 6 times.

A daft tenner banzai for a HT-FT Greek bet was rather silly on my part, I lost a bit of discipline there, though I suppose a "fun tenner" is fine now & then if we are funded for it.

We definitely want, or like, more of those quirky bets though, the hole in ones, total frames, the weird ones, they are huge fun.

QPR - Spurs were punted, as was a Bazza Boxing special, both for Saturday. We have quite a lot of money forward invested for Saturday in fact, but the pressure is off, thanks to Doobs, so we'll be OK whatever happens.

Our only action for today, this far, is the start of Tighty's 4 County Cricket matches, each of which runs for several days, so we might have some fun there, too. The weather forecast is for unbroken sunshine & high temperatures throughout, with only a 1% chance of rain, so no chance whatsoever of any of them being drawn.

Thursday is PL Darts night, & we have nothing lined up yet. Don't really want to force the action there, either, but if anything comes up, we'll have a look.

All good.

Good stuff, hope QPR in particular comes in.

As with the under 2.5 goals Greece bet, i told my mate yesterday about it and while watching the Chelsea game in the pub, he got on sky sports centre and showed me this.

                                            Panetolikos 5-4 Aris Salonika
                                                        ( 2-0)

lol. We were just a bit wrong then.

Just seen the stats for the Chelsea game and the possession and pass rate were like 75% barca 25% Chelsea and 800 passes for barca to 200 for Chelsea.  One effort on goal for the Drog was all that was required against the 6 of the spaniards.  Hope they can perform miracles at the Nou camp ( still can't bring myself to call it the camp nou ) but the home record for them this season reads played 30 w27 d3 L zero

I was rather hoping that someone would find a "value" bet for Barca to qualify for the Final, from what I saw last night, Barca will murder Chelsea in the 2nd leg, but I just put the money on, & don't have the knowledge of football that many have.

I was also slightly surprised that no bets on either Team for this weekend appeared overnight - after such exertions, particularly by Chelsea, they will find it tough to compete on Saturday. They are away to Arsenal (lunchtime KO, too, so even less recovery time), & I'd have thought they would really struggle.  Arsenal can still be backed for that at Evens, too.

Unless someone tells me I am talking out of my ample arse, I may even put up my first ever tip, too.  Then again, maybe not - I prefer to blame others for my losses, as I'm a poker player.
