That's your allocation of daftness for all of April gone Geordie, ok?
I can't post tonight, but I can read stuff, so keep the thread updated please.
LOL.....I will do......obviously this bet if primarily for a laugh, but there is a small chance of a decent sweat,
but one question.....I think I've put up 6 "tips" 4 were well thought out plenty of stat hunting (1 won, 2 going well and the remainder still in the balance) you've swerved all 4.......and then 2 plonker style stupidity bets, with little to no chance of winning....you've backed them both?? WHY?? PMSL................also my daftness of April runs out in a few days
He's dealt with this issue a couple of times. He can't back everything, sometimes it's opposed by lots of people, sometimes he misses the price, sometimes he just misses it. I think he makes a fine job of trying to strike a balance between it being an informative thread, a fun thread and a profitable thread. Sometimes he backs our losers and swerves our winners but that's gambling.
I like WBA @ 2.2 Stan James home vs Villa this weekend
. Villa are in dire form with injuries taking their toll and West Brom are pretty decent with 3 wins and 3 clean sheets in their last 4. It's a derby so motivation will be no problem for Brom.
Also Pool @ 2.05 (generally) away vs Norwich
. Gerrard is back, I think Pool may have turned a corner slightly form wise. They were very unlucky at home to West Brom whereas previous home failures have been poor performances. And they actually have more wins away from home than at home. Sometimes when you're underperforming, it can be easier to play away. Norwich look on the beach.
£25 win on each recommended.
I also think laying Spurs might be decent but team news should be sought first.
Thanks Dazzy, & I like the bet sizing for these tricky ones, my gambling genes are a tad wimpish.
Both bets on, both for £25, both with Stan James, 6/5 for WBA, & 21/20 for Livepool.

I THINK thats us up to date, except for the GeordieNeil Banzai special, which is not tiime precious, so I'll deal with it soonest, probably Sunday. Guess I'd dare not miss it after last night's heroics.
Big thanks to Mere & everyone else for the running updates last night.

Gotcha tadger.
Speedway in POLAND? What? That's as mad as GeordieNeil's Darts Banzai, or War's Everton.
Leave it with me, on my way.

tikay one to consider for tommorow on the racing front i suggest £20 win at the available 14-1 tonight (bet365 bet victor) (there was some 18-1 earlier but only with one firm)
3.55 doncaster horse by horse guide
BOSS'S DESTINATION deserved top weight and in career best form however whilst is deserved of an 85 rating at southwell i am not sure about 85 on heavy turf ground. The one time faced genuine soft/heavy ground like tommorow finished last as favourite.
ROSEWIN one of many this trainer has improved but similar to the top weight has not really got much turf form which arrives at a low 80's rating, also has never faced heavy ground ina long career either by choice or design (has however acted at southwell)
SECRET TUNE looks fairly handicapped based on a "jumpers for bumpers" win earlier in the year , however has never acted on ground this soft before in a long career (for a previous stable)
RUSSIAN GEORGE a decent all weather horse has not faced this ground for four years and has very little recent turf form jockey booking for stable only positive i could find.
SOHCAHTOA quirky sort but has not been with excellent stable for long, however they normally have them ready to go after a break so last run might have been the time, the very low win rate puts me off the horse for betting purposes.
BEDOUIN BAY another all weather horse who looks slightly outclassed here
LADY AMAKHALA the fancy/bet in here, has run best races second time out both racing seasons to date as a 2 year old finishing a neck second and last year winning easily. The other key to this horse is almost certainly the ground the win at ripon was on ground described as good to soft but it was nearer heavy. Since then the horse has looked slow over 12 furlongs and looked in desperate need of softer ground and a longer trip. The re appearance at catterick was very much a softly softly comeback ride and if the horse is going to win this season it could be tommorow.
GENERAL TING fairly handicapped but often looked very quirky on the flat for previous stable
DAMASCUS SYMPHONY Could be argued is also progressive big negative for me is the stable does not generally win with horses from a lay off and both seasons so far the horse has been an autumn performer.
The bet is the only potential improver in the field, the rest have all been there and done that (or not done it). The ground, trip and second run of season are all ideal and that is enough positives in a race like this. I make it a 15-2/8-1 shot.
Thanks!
We are on @ 14/1, BetVictor, £20.
ON
Single Selections
Doncaster 15:55
LADY AMAKHALA
(Horse Racing Outright)
Odds: 14/1
Stake: 20.00

Great work on the price

Tikay,
Not mad at all, Poland is pretty much THE place to ride in speedway nowadays, much more money in it than in the UK. Most UK teams have to accommodate riders when the pick league meets in Poland over ones in the UK.

Never knew that, thanks man.
Really, I was sort of referring to the diversity of place we have had punts. Amazing variety, really.
I had assumed, however, that in the UK, there must be zero money in it at all.
Used to be a huge spectator sport, I used to watch it at Wembley Stadium, Hackney, Poole, Belle Vue, all sorts of places, back in the 50's, & the pre-eminent riders were big stars.
My hero was Barry Briggs. He was everyone's hero!

There was a really famous kid named "Split Waterman", too, think we watched him at Haringey Stadium.

Stop sending me down Memory Lane, please!

Yeah, used to be massive.
I don't go anymore but got into it as a kid via stock cars.
Arlington speedway track ( which is where Eastbourne Eagles speedway team race) is a couple of miles away from where I grew up, so used to go and watch the stock cars on bank holidays. as I got older I knew a couple of local lads who rode for the Eagles so went to watch a few times.
Ed Kennett, who rides in the league started with Eastbourne when he was 16. When he was about 13/14 he used to be the 3rd sub for the football team I played for. The team was based in a village where he lived.

i live near eastbourne and live very close to cameron woodward (captain of eastbourne i think?) when he is riding over here. He is a lovely bloke and spends at least 300 days of the year travelling around europe riding in different leagues from what i can gather.

Good grief, Stock cars, Arlington Raceway, the "Worlds" up at Wisbech every June or July, (I never missed those in years) & Barry "Leapy" Lee, # 351. Incred days
