If we all post lots of comments, maybe they wont bother to check back through all the pages and the secret will remain just that.

Excellent.
I'm thinking of recommending a bet on the Ulan Bator u-15's volleyball team - what's the weather like there?

I can't say I'm really a fan thus far but Word has it that Andy Carroll is going to get the starting spot over Danny Welbeck (Carroll has the No 9 shirt).

If he does start and performs well he could keep his place in a 2 man attack even when Rooney returns.

He is a a very generous price for top English goalscorer for a medium investment but only if you can get the 15-2 on offer at Paddy Power

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/internationals/euro-2012/england-euro-2012-specials/top-goalscorer

On a similar theme Spains widely accepted 3rd choice striker Negredo may be a value bet. Sid Lowe reckons he might start on Sunday, he thinks he's ahead of the misfiring Llorente and that its between Torres and Negredo. Even if he doesn't start on Sunday he will get an opportunity if Spain struggle for goals against the Italians.

I've backed him ew at 50/1 for the tourney and at 10/1 for top Spanish goalscorer. Obv this is a bit of a punt and you have Llorente already but a small interest may be worthwhile.

That's actually immaterial, he could have been backed @ 4.5 after the green @ 3.0.

Can anyone tell me how many minutes went up on the board in both todays games at half time ? Was in 2 in both ?

Sandy

Didn't notice in first game but this one was definitely two.

Thanks. On tomorrow @ 4/1 for 2 mins 1st half in both games.

Also on 4 + mins 2nd half 3/1 Den and 11/4 Ger.

Singles and doubles for me.

Not that solid stats wise (only 2 games here) but prices are decent.

Not immaterial - definitely worth discussing imho.
I'm sure that the "proper" gamblers would say that the chosen option of guaranteeing a profit (@ 3.0) whatever the result is the wrong decision. Either we still like our bet or we don't in which case we should lay Rory for a bigger amount.
The alternative is to "trade" on the bet and take the fluctuations into account and build ourselves a very profitable situation. I know very little about golf but laying McIroy at 2.5 now with an eye to trading him at bigger odds seems very appealing to me.
I'm happy to be laughed out of court.

I think the amount of greenage @ 3.0 might have been questionable, personally I would have only been saving my stake and taking a £200 freeroll in tikay's position and probably been hoping to possibly save a little more @ odds-on. Perhaps I should have suggested a figure at the time rather than just saying "leave a decent amount on for the win".

I still maintain that the fact that the price went out from 3.0 to 4.5 justifies the business.

As for McIlroy's current price of c2.30, I agree with you as to it being very tempting to lay.

It all fascinates me.
I'm sure the amount of greenage is just a factor of tikay's age. Smiley
I'm now trying to recall "Bad Beat's" comments about hares.
Presumably this isn't a typical situation since Rory isn't a big outsider leading after two rounds and his odds are much shorter (lay @ 2.36) than would typically be the case.

I know the 'grown up gamblers' don't like it but in todays gambling climate it's very prudent to 'green out' where you can.
Normal bookies just don't offer the value bets like they used to, the exchanges compile the odds for them.
As Fraser has stated today you can't get any money on when you do find value at the norma bookies

I knew that. Well, I was pretty sure it was that or Basketball, maybe Ice Hockey at a push.

Incred, Antigua and Barbuda have Dexter Blackstock, Mikele Leigertwood, Marc Joseph and super Marvin McCoy playing!

If the others are anywhere near as good as those 4 +3 @ 2.45 looks a very good bet.

I am delighted to see that Tikay greened out and even more delighted to read the ensuing discussion about what the best course of action should be, that was my hidden intention when I subtly suggested he do it. I had hoped Rory was going to be 4 shots clear after the first round and the debate could have taken place over the course of the morning but Rory let me down a tad. This is after all a thread that some not so adept gamblers will read and they, like us, can learn from the discussion.
