Full time.

South Africa 14 England 14

Jeepers, that was close.
Great tippage by Tighty - couldn't have been closer.

Wasn't up to date on the thread but was sure hector would have tipped the draw here, being it was likely to be a tight kicking contest. Boo!

Had done my money on the morning games so packed up for the day to avoid tilting Sad

He would have done but Fred was already on an England win.

France were rubbish. That wasn't what I expected. Needed Valbuena and we didn't get him.
Got to work hard to get the thread money back now.

I make that 5-5 in corners Sad

Needed France to make more of an effort.

Spin made the multi corners 24 , which would indicate 4-6 but Live score deffo had 5 corners at , tho I would trust Spin a lot more than  livescore.

Sorry, I wasn't available for the game.
William Hill have settled the corners bet as a winner.

Daily Summary, as @ 05:00, Sunday June 24th

The football match appears to have been a damp squib although henrik777's corners bet was a winner. Sadly, the demise of the French ended two of our Euro2012 bets.

In the rugby, Tighty's prediction was almost spooky. Sadly England only managed a draw so we lost out. It was still most impressive.

In the cricket, Glamorgan's game was washed out. They are now fourth (of six) in their group as are Surrey.
With just less than half of their matches played this isn't over yet but both teams need to step up their game.

In the golf, Mahan and Moore finished on -1 and -2 respectively after their third rounds. Sadly the leaders are on -12 so I think we're unlikely to win on this one.

What's coming up?

We have the fourth quarter-final of Euro2012: England v Italy. We'd like Carroll to play and score some goals. Can we find any other bets?

The golf concludes today and we need record breaking performances from our two runners, Mahan and Moore (and a melt-down by the rest of the field).

The European Grand Prix in Valencia is at 1pm. Sebastian Vettel is on pole position and is clear evens favourite to win the race.

There's a T20 international cricket match between England and the West Indies at Trent Bridge this afternoon. However, it's rather damp here so there's a good chance that will be abandoned.

Euro2012 Finalists Virtual Bet.

I believe that the first thing that needs to happen is for Spain to win their group today. If they come second they would end up with a semi-final against Germany assuming both teams got that far.

The current best odds for this are 1.21 on Betfair so I have invested ten groats on this.

It was a close run thing but we got there when Jesus Navaz scored in the 88th minute for Spain.
We now have 12 groats (after Betfair commission).

The next game for this "accumulator" is on Friday when Germany meet Greece.
Germany are currently 1.17 on Betfair to qualify (also StanJames and Ladbrokes).
I'll wait to see if the odds improve before re-investing my 12 groats.

We have 12 groats on Germany to qualify at 1.17 with Ladbrokes.
The best price now available is 1.14.

We now have 14 groats.
I have placed it all on Spain to qualify against France @ 1.4 on Ladbrokes.

We now have 19.6 groats.
Spain are currently 1.47 on Betfair to qualify against Portugal.

Well played on the corners bet.

I did indeed say to go for under 2.5 goals, but I didn't expect it to be such a short price, so probably wouldn't want to lump on either.

England v Italy:

I think most people who are regulars in this topic can't see many goals and in reality I can't, but I just have a feeling, that there is going to be quite a few goals here, so I wouldn't fanct the unders, but then again, you are going to get a rubbish price on it anyway.

Again, I would go for the corners bet. I would also go for Italy having the most in either half or in the whole match (odds need to be found). Italy have averaged 7 corners a game, whilst England 4.33, clear evidence to support the corners bet in favour of Italy.

Italy to have more corners throughout the game is 4/5 and Italy/italy is 13/8.

Total corners:

Under 10 (17/20), 10-12 (11/5) and Over 12 (11/4). I think with the game being a simple KO game and both teams lacking much attacking talent, I can see both trams realying on set pieces and corners. I would go for 10-12 or over 12. PS the averages point at between 11-12 corners in this match!

Good luck today.
