Dai Greene looks a big price for the 400m hurdles tonight. He was tipped on here for SPOTY not long ago. I think there has been too big a reaction to his near failure to qualify.
I haven't seen the draw and he could get a bad one, but still think he is worth a swift 20 or so at 12/1 with bet365/12.5 on betfair. Crowd going to lift him blah blah

To discuss this, I just read, '"I was going down the home straight and couldn't catch them," Greene told BBC Sport. "I don't know what happened, I wasn't there. I'm devastated. I'm shocked and feel like I've let everyone down." '
Would feel better backing him if he knew what the problem was. 13.5 now on BF though.
Looks like some people got matched at massive prices (£34 at 90, 200ish at 48), some clever people knowing that he might still qualify with the fastest loser time ripping off the money-buyers

Greene drew lane 3, a decent draw
He looked flat to me in the semi, not the force in the home straight he would normally be.
If he was to have that fizz again then obviously it would be superb value but I can't shake the feeling that something is not right, physically, the sort of thing that emerges post games...

Yes, my absence yesterday was one of those things, but at least half of blonde got on, thanks Simon, & I think Dubai has offered to assist Fred.
A wonderfully reasoned bet, too.
Did the assistance materialise? If not, let me know and I will sort something out for Fred.

The lines got crossed Simon (by me probably), don't ask, move on.

No probs, last quoted as 4/7 and assuming nothing silly happens against Tunisia tonight, will end up top of Group B.
In an effort to see Fred with a balanced portfolio and as a peace offering after SPOTY anaylsis that made me punt on a "lifetime award" reasoning (I got Ainslee, other choice was Wiggins.. wp me) I am happy to give Fred £60 to win £50 - just nod and it shall be so.

Tony,
have to be quick mate, have a max bet on Nedzaya Ostapchuck in the Ladies shot putt mate 15/8 top price at the mo but take 6/4 if you have to.
Thanks Phil.
Feeling a shade nitty, so Fred has £100 on Miss Ostapchuk.
Can that REALLY be the name of a shot put person?!
ON
£100 @ 15/8, BetFred, Miss Ostapchuk to win the Olympic Women's Shot Put.
It all got a bit messy really.
I got a text from a mate that works for a firm that are paying someone to give them inj/form/opinion/news on the Olympics saying '8/15 fav in the womens shot putt might be out of the games mate'.
This is the kind of thing that you will do with a few trusted friends in the industry, if you see a rick on their site or get something important you let them know. In the old days you used to bet it with them first and then ring them up but it's not looked upon to well if you do that these days.
I was bang under the cosh trading the US golf so quickly had a look on oddschecker and saw that 4 firms had taken the prices down, if you are using the market as a guide then VC bet365 Hills and Bwin taking the market down is prob a good guide as to there being something wrong.
I rang him up but he couldn't really talk as he was in the trading room and this is where it got messy coz he started to speculate about why she would be thrown out instead of telling me he didn't really know.
So basically he knew something was up, but didn't really know what.
I decided it was a no lose spot really in an event that looked a 2 horse race as I could bet the 15/8 second fav and be on at the right price if the other girl took part or at a massive price if she didn't. I looked on BF to see if I could just lay the fav instead but the bet price was available but the lay price was miles away from the bet price so that wasn't an option. So I backed it and told Tony I have something that might be very good and we might need to get on quick which is why my opening post was a bit vague as I didn't really want to say there is a chance it could be a bit warm.
So in the end it didn't go our way and when it became clearer I told Tony I would take the cash he had put on myself as it was half a story that had turned out badly, a bad opening post( I'm in a tricky spot really as I can't say where it came from and that it could be a bit filthy in the post) but he said he would just keep the bet himself as that's what happens when these possible angles come up.
I see he wanted to take it off the thread and I agree with the reasoning he made as to getting feedback and input but it was one of those 'this could be a bit of a rick if this pans out one way bets' or we have a bet at the right price that we probably wouldn't have had to the amount we did if it doesn't turn out that way. So I think it should stay on the thread as it was put up by me so should end up next to my name win or lose tho I wanted to kind of explain why all of a sudden I was trying to get us on something with so little explanation.
I didn't see the heats but saw our girl went well and is now a top price 6/5, so even tho the bet went the absolute worst way it could have done we are on at a value price now so fingers crossed we might get a winner.

Very kind, & generous Simon, but no "peace offering" needed. Everything is fiine. I was offline & missed the recommend, it happens, you have no responsibility.
Lets move on & find some winners.

No need to explain Phil, any inside info is never gonna be concrete and obv this bit wasn't as great as was thought but when the worst thing to happen is u back someone at the correct price, it's not much risk imo. Defo right to leave it on thread tony, inside info isn't always gonna come off, gotta take the rough with the smooth. U could take all losing bets on your private acc and leave all the winners with fred if you're that concerned! I didn't bet but watched the qualifying, your girl looked the best, the kiwi's first throw was awful, like 4 metres back, she deliberately fouled to stop it being measured but she looked short of her best (looking at her previous). Still seems u made a good bet to me

Lol, it'd be quite something if she won!
Anyway, the best stays on Fred, end of story lets move on.
