Daily Report as @ 0735, Tuesday August 21st

Another profitable day yesterday.

We placed one new bet, & 4 older bets reached a conclusion, of those 5 bets, 2 were winners, 3 were losers.

Went South

Our MOBOT bet (£45) died peacefully, without so much as even threatening, or giving us a sweat. Just about everyone thought it a great bet, & only due to my tardiness on getting it on for decent money did we avoid losing more, as the price had gone before I awoke to the value. We got lucky in that respect. I think we have to accept, grudgingly, that Joe Coral outwitted us on this occasion. We'll get him another day.....

Also in Football, our Man Utd six-timer fell at the first, but it was a 25/1 Banzai for a tenner, so no big deal.

In Golf, we got touched off on the line when Colsaerts came up just one shot shy of the place money (we were EW) in the Wyndham, but again, it was a tenner @ 49/1, so no complaints.

Heading North

2 winners yesterday.

First, one of the most fun sweats we have ever had, it took 5 days, we were always marginally ahead, but it teased & tantalised until the very end - the Test Max. £150 @ 19/10 is a big & bold bet for us, our first Max in several months in fact. And we got it right.

Later, basking in feel-good, the same guy tipped Fellaini to be an "Anytime Goalscorer", in a notoriously difficult market to find value - & he kopped again, £10 @ 6/1.

The day belonged to one man - Tighty. Well done him, very well done. Judging by feedback, lots of followers were on both his tips.

It is not widely known, but before he took to Updating, Modding, Geeking, & Punting, he was quite a dab hand at the poker. Here is is in his prime, bossing some random kid.

What's coming up?

Today, not much, maybe we'll rest today.

A full programme of fixtures from the Championship, & Divs 1 & 2, none of which will be televised.

Incredibly, the Champions League is back. Sky Sports have two Champions League preliminaries of little UK interest, but ITV have got one a bit nearer home - Helsinborg v Celtic.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/champions-league/champions-league/helsingborg-v-celtic

In cricket, Surrey Lions take on Welsh Dragons, but after yesterday, it will be tame fayre.

Finally, dont forget Cycling, where our man, Joaquin Rodriguez, had a splendid day yesterday, as far as I can see he finished third in yesterday's stage, though I don't know how he is doing overall. Early days yet, but this could be fun.

We are on him at 14/1, his best price now is 8/1. We have that valoo, well done Chess Man Photo Archive Man

Stage 4 will be televised today on Eurosport.

Please note I am working tonight, so will NOT be able to transact bets put up after 6pm. IF Mere is around perhaps he will oblige, but best to post early.

Early skirmishes in the Vuelta. The main four contenders, Valverde, Rodriguez, Froome and Contador were testing each other for signs of weakness, none was shown.

Our man was in good form & looks like he can take the fight to Contador & Foome. With 10 mountain finishes, he'll be looking to attack at the first sign of weakness.

Should be a classic tactical battle.

Well played indeed on the Fellaini bet Mr Tightend, for me it was a far more satisfactory coup than the cricket bet. Superbly reasoned, thought out and executed. A bit like spotting that Snow White was being priced up at 6-1 to score at any time with a header round at her house during a game of 3 and in. By the way I thought that Mr Tightend was supposed to be put into a poker tournament or did I miss it?

When he is good & ready, he plays, the money is safely banked.

It's with His Tighnesss to decide where & when. He needs to hurry up & make his mind up though!

I reckon we should get him to play a WSOP Event next year. Epic

Well the plan was a Monte Carlo, but there hasn't been one this year!

If there isn't one by say Xmas, I'll nominate an early £500 next year assuming I can find people available to update it.

I think we have more than £500 Rich. We ought to bump the thread, it's somewhere in GPC.

Tighty remains at the no.1 spot in my 'should be a pro punterer' list.

Swanson 11-2 with Mountains to score any time again tonight v Millwall. Was half tempted as he's prob starting tonight but we're unlikely to score four like against Southend, so will skip.

ok. I'm easy. The problem has been finding a >£500 DTD event, firstly and secondly not being required to work the big ones.

Had a quick look at the draw for QF of the Irish Derby and I really like our chances of progressing with Sawpit, would perhaps go as far as saying I think the heat is easier than in previous round. We still need to show a bit more to be a serious contender to win but finalling looks achievable.

We´re still floating around the 25/1 mark so seems like we´re not fancied too much but only 4 of the 24 remaining dogs are single digits.

I´m confident.

Thanks scotty.

When is the next round - this Saturday?

I no longer have much, if any, knowledge of the current greyhound scene, but when I was an avid follower, I liked my Derby Dogs to come to hand steadily, I was never much keen if they were winning every heat, I'd worry they had peaked too early.

Only one heat matters, & if they arrive there tip-top, that's as good as it gets.

Yes, this Saturday, heat is at 10pm.

Well, Sawpit hasn´t peaked, of that we can be fairly sure - should have a bit more to come. Fingers crossed the trainer has been following the Tikay guide.
