Happy to TWC2012 correspond if you wish

daily reports, updates on our bets

News on the stadium topography and audience demographics, that sort of stuff

Yes please!

Do you want me to summarise the bets we currently have?

Stadium topography, audience demographics & weather reports an added bonus, of course.

Also little cameos such as that chap who took 6 for 8 in 4 overs yesterday. It could never happen in proper cricket, of course.

Yes please, a summary to start us off

Rumour has it someone thinks Afghanistan, a cricketing superpower, might score more sixes than minnows India today...

and if a team has a J Mendis and a A Mendis, does it have Mendi or Mendes? Mr Malinga starts off behind the 8-white-ball, for our bet...

Yup, we DO have that Afghanistan bet. What were we thinking?

I cannot assist with the Mendises or Mendisis, I don't have a scooby. I do know we are already in a hole with Malinga though.

Here is the current position.....

Malinga, Top Sri Lanka Bowler, £40 @ 15/8, maldini32.

Australia to score MOST SIXES, £20 @ 11/2, hector.

Virat Kohli, Top Batsman £20 @ 16/1, Dung. (Have I got that right? Top OVERALL?)

Dilshan, batter with most sixes, £6.10 EW @ 80/1, maldini.

Dilshan, batter with most sixes, £5 EW @ 66/1, maldini.

Afghanistan MOST SIXES v Australia TODAY, £20 @ 11/2, AndrewT.

Total Invested so far = £122.20.

Return so far – Nil.

Tighty, if there likely to be proportionately a higher number of stumpings on these slower (assuming they area slower) pitches per innings than normal?

Mendii feels right.  Haven't checked though

Yep. It was me with the Malinga bet, and were 5 behind already after one! At least were behind to a world record.

Dilshan gets 39 and not one 6. Not ideal for our bet.

I was playing with the idea of buying Sangakara's performance yesterday. Bottled it.

No worries, it happens.

The authorities did not want to see worn dustbowls for this event and curators (note, not groundsmen in the sub continent) have been told to speed up the pitches and give games a chance

by which I mean, teams can't bat first on a worn one, and then just bowl pace off on a dead pitch to make a chase impossible

Saw the first signs of this when Zim put SL in yesterday, and the pitch had green tinges

That said, a lot of the real T20 class bowling at the moment is spin: Ajmal, Narine, Mendis, Ashwin etc which will take wickets on anything.

The World T20 scene is a bit short of seam death bowlers. We have Dernbach, who is good as anyone in these and Steyn is great but Malinga is past his best, Lee has retired, The Pak seamers are over the hill (Junaid Khan excepted) etc etc.

So on balance I think the answer is no, not expecting this to be worn dustbowls/lots of stumpings but still expecting spinners to be top wicket-takers due to talent, not so much conditions

Thanks, the stumpings points of 25 in the player performance markets is such a big player, thought there might be something to work on.

What’s coming up?

T20WC

Australia v Ireland. Might be a painful watch.

Afghanistan v India. We have Afghanistan to score most sixes…..

Cycling

The Time Trial thing, as put up by Tonji. Remember, the Kessiakoff bet is VOID.

Champions League Football.

We are already on Celtic to beat Benfica, @ 31/10. Celtic are now 11/4.

Chelsea face Juventus…..Chelsea are an eye-popping 29/20 with BetVictor at present.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/champions-league/chelsea-v-juventus/winner

Man Utd take on Galatasaray….

Plenty of domestic football today, too.

Wicket keepers that bat high up with good spinners in their team is worth a look at. Obviously the spread firms know this too but sometimes they balls it up, not often but now and again they do. You'd be looking at the top teams playing the weakest team in their group - obv wickets more likely.
