Sri Lanka only managed a teasing 139.

In Tighty, we trust, though.

More an observation than a tip at this point.

FENNELL BAY was 12-1 this morning for the 4.40 at Warwick. Suddenly became 6-1 and is now between 6 and 7. Second favourite.

Anyone know why/whether it is in any way interesting? Or is it a "this sort of thing happens all the time. Stick to chess and being generally handsome"?

Never mind the "handsome" nonsense, give us the line on Spurs tonight. They are on telly & everything.

AVB (world's greatest manager now, apparently) has made a point in the press about how much he values the competition (a statement whoever is managing arsenal will be making next season, fnah fnah). We will be fielding a strong side and I'm not worried that we only have one fit striker, as 1. It's defoe and 2. We have half a dozen attacking midfielders.

Spurs currently 4/5 ish and not convinced that's as inviting as Spurs-1 at 7/2 with Betfair. We aren't likely to defend much. Granted we need the win but I would expect players like Dempsey and Dembele who are on the cusp of the first team to be playing for their place tonight. Townsend might get a game, too and has bags of pace.

4/5 both teams to score? Probably Lloris (hopefully Cudicini v Lazio was just a statement) in goal and a decent back 4, so not a fan of that.

We play Villa on Sunday so I can see the mentality being to keep the spirits high and go for an open game tonight.

Any use?

In that I will probably now give it a miss - yes!

I had looked at all the various markets this morning, & was hoping to be able to persuade myself that Over 2.5 goals, & some means of backing a low corner-count, would be at attractive prices, but in truth, they dont seem to, so I tink I'll give the game a miss.

It was much easier backing Arsenal in the various markets last night, as the bigger, higher-quality Teams with superb Managers can be relied upon to win, & score plenty along the way.

Backing spurs is up there as a hobby with lion-taming and tombstoning.

Still not rising to the bait, Tikay!

Potential UFC moneymaker.

John Dodson (13-5 record) squares off against Jussier da Silva (14-1 record) in the Flyweight division with the winner likely to fight TfT winner Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson somewhere down the line. The fight takes place tomorrow (Friday) night rather than the standard Saturday.

I think Dodson is the most likely winner but that's not the issue here. The bookies have opened up the markets on this fight and are all over the place.

BSQ and 888sport go 7/4 Dodson.

Pinnacle go 9/5 da Silva. WH are 6/4.

There have only been 6 draws in over 1000 fights over the last 4 years.

Not sure if it is a rick or whether the bookies just don't know. I don't know if the bigger guys can get enough on to make it worthwhile, just throwing it out there.

Back later with a potential tip for the same card.

T20WC report

Sri Lanka 140 defended against Pakistan to make the final

As expected, winning the toss and batting on these spinning pitches is a big advantage...the pitches get lower...the trick is to wait for the toss and then get on, as the bookmakers today did not adjust the Sri Lanka price lower

A bad day for our bets though

Dilshan poked his way to 30 with no sixes. Techincally alive, our bet there is realistically dodo-like

Malinga no wickets, Mendis 2 leaving Mendis 3 ahead going to the final. On these pitches, Malinga is unlikely to overcome Mendis now

So we have all our eggs in the Australian sixes basket, and the semi tomorrow is intriguing for if there are any teams that can chase down a target on a spinning pitch, Australia with Watson, Warner and Hussey up to and West Indies with Gayle, Charles and Samuels up top are the ones

We need Australia to win, for our sixes bet

However West Indies with Narine look a touch more suited to the conditions

Again, look at the toss, and back the team that wins the toss/bats first blind is a decent strategy. If this is the West Indies, you are going to get odds against...

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/international/twenty20-world-cup/australia-v-west-indies/winner

In fact backing the WI now at 13/10 might be an interesting hedge for the Australian position...they are odds on in my opinion if they win the toss.

After looking at US presidential betting I stumbled across this market

http://www.oddschecker.com/specials/politics-and-election/julian-assange/how-will-he-leave-the-ecuadorian-embassy

It could be locking up money for a long time but surely max bet on UK Police car at 11/8.

He has given a two finger salute to the British judicial system and wasted a load of taxpayers money on it. I can't imagine for one second that the British Govt are going to let the political superpower of Ecuador embarrass us on a global scale. The second he steps out he is straight into Police custody.

costing 11k a day to watch the front door, back door, roof top and any tunnels to Harrods.

Agree with Keith,11/8 is huge unless Paddy is organising something  Cheesy

I just found ITV4 and some **ursday night footie but it seems to be a "behind closed doors" affair.

Lloris is playing and looks [ ] convincing, in fact a cloche hat would not be inappropriate.

almost certain this is a palpable error.

these 2 books have the same prices on everything.

Think you have misunderstood the situation, Ralph. The curent offering is just the warm-up match for the proper game at 8pm, when Liverpool take centre stage.

I think we might just have drawn with the worst team in the competition...

Carrying Tom Huddleston is no easy task these days, sadly, but dem's da breaks; the swings and swongs and other Tikayisms.

Hopefully we take it out on Villa (else I am fully aware that work and social life will be significantly less pleasant!). How we haven't learned that we need to score twice to win and sitting back on a one goal lead is a terrible strategy is beyond me.

They were certainly pretty bad, but you'll be happier tonight thn Liverpool, I fancy.

I think you'll batter tonight's villains when you play them at home, I really do. An over 2.5 nap that night.

Very quiet day everywhere today, Fred included, but tonight, we have an NFL bet, Eagles @ Steelers, UNDER 44 points.

We only have £33 @ 10/11, but £30 would do nicely.

Last time this happened, Fred got the next message an hour later. It was a good tip but the wait was agonising!

Waiting . . .

Incidentally, anyone think Man City are a lay on Saturday @ 1.3 on Betfair or are we better just having a bet on Sunderland/Draw.

I haven't been impressed with what I have saw of Man City thus far, and one thing you can lay your life on is Martin O'Neill setting his team upto be very difficult to beat.  Sunderland also have the form striker in the EPL, if it weren't for there goalkeeper in games I have watched they would have fared far worse.
