Individually, Messi was 4/6 to score anytime, and Ronnie was evens. No real value there.

At 4/6 and even money then 4/1 was better than them individually and possibly okay (I didn't do the maths on the individual prices but they have both been value in the past)

Can i suggest two bets for the Darts tomorrow night, unable to do a write up as a load of buttons on my laptop arent working including the space bar so postibg from Phone.

Thornton 2-0 11/4 Hills£20
Smith most 180s v Taylor £20 with sky @9/4

Thanks Mr Snowball.

Posting without a space-bar must take a bit of doing!

I had to leave the Smith 180's wager, as I don't bet with SkyBet. Their price is miles ool with everyone else (hence the bet I assume), & the best alternative is 11/8.......

http://www.oddschecker.com/other-sports/darts/world-grand-prix/phil-taylor-v-michael-smith/most-180s

But we do have the other bet, £20 @ 11/4 with William Hill, Thornton to win 2-0.

ON

08 Oct 2012 - Mark Walsh v Robert Thornton - Correct Score

Robert Thornton 2-0 @ 11/4

Stake : £20.00
Estimated Returns : £75.00Transaction Reference:O/0457483/0000115/F

Good morning.

The Michael Van Gerwen darts bet.

I'm afraid I kept missing that, even though I seem to recall that is was bumped several times.

He is now 50/1 with Betfred.

1) Is this still a worthwhile bet?

2) Win, or each way? EW terms are "half, 1,2".

I have taken a tenner for myself, & if we agree it is still a bet, I'll transfer it across to the Fred account today.

Also, do we know who the original author of the proposal was, as I need to assign it to someone if we take it?

REMINDER

Do we know who originally proposed this bet?

Daily Report as @ 0840, Monday October 8th

We made a loss of £57 yesterday.

7 bets completed, 5 lost.

Of the losers, two were on the T20WC (Malinga, £40, & Dilshan £22.20), & overall the T20WC did not go too well for us on our “series” bets, but we had some nice match bets that got home.

Our Southampton bet went down (£50), as did both the Saracens Banzais (£20 & £5).

In the credit column, Kuku gave us a nice NFL bet on Eagles-Steelers (+£30), & reds gave us the Newc-Man Utd overs, for +£40. We needed those two results to mitigate an otherwise bad day, & weekend.

I forgot to mention yesterday that we missed the Bet of the Year on Saturday, in the Kettering debacle, but it was just one of those things, I did try to get on. Well done to horsey for spotting that one.

Looks like we did well to swerve the Arc yesterday, too, a few lukewarm tips were put up, but we did not get on anything, so we saved a bit there.

Ahh, thanks.

I'll transfer the bet across to Fred later today.

The X Factor farce rumbled into full swing at the weekend, with Louis forgetting who he was supposed to kick out, and nearly preventing the producers from retaining Rylan who adds publicity to the show.

The overall winner looks being in danger of being a one horse race with Ella well clear of the other acts, but due to the mediocre nature of many of the acts I think there may be some value in the eliminations markets in the early weeks.

Rylan should get a bounce this week and with the X Factor machine fully behind him should finish outside the bottom 2.

I think the person who may be in trouble at a decent price is Christopher Maloney.  Not only is his nervous act all the time annoying, but it turns out he used to sing on a cruise ship so the public is going to think it is an act.   Rumours abound that the producers are not happy with him in relation to this cruise ship which does not help his cause and may lead to him performing first up in the coffin slot.

If you google him he has a fair amount of negative publicity around his “nervous act”.

Only negative is that he isn’t a bad singer (but then neither was Carolyn in week 1) and that he must have some kind of fan base as he won the wildcard vote.

Nonetheless, I think his price is too big in what is a wide open elimination.

I recommend we back Christ Maloney at 9/1 to be the second elimination for £5.

morning all

maybe we should try and attract garth crooks to the thread?

Garth Crooks has called for Roy Hodgson to take a "keen interest" in West Brom's James Morrison. Morrison has 23 caps for Scotland.

you could not make it up

presumably he is paid by the beeb for such insight

He obviously meant the singer...

...who is English.

Whiny, but English, nonetheless.

The BBC pundits are horrific.  If they are not showing themselves to be ignorant about players who have not played in the Premier League before, then they are providing the most bland analysis, simply describing what it happening on the pictures.

It is horrendous that they are paid so much taxpayer money for their nonsence.

Really cannot see this.

The guy has a cracking voice, his nervousness is somewhat endearing, he's down to earth and will relate to the average person in the street.

More importantly he won the wildcard slot which already shows the public like him, especially ahead of the talented amy who i genuinely thought was harshy treated not to get through just from the judges houses alone.

I think kye is one to watch at large prices right now for elimination. In week one I backed carolynne-aftertime i know-and kye at 14s and 33s respectively. Post show i topped up on the latter at 100s. I think he's average and will get lost amongst bigger and more memorable personalities. At 33s for week 2 with boyles im gonna have a speculative punt even now. Not reccing this for thread btw. Another i'm no fan of is the kate nash awful wannabe Lucy. She's atrocious and surely this 'different music style' will wane with the public soon enough. Backed her post first show to go on the sunday at 50s, but the 11s for next week is a bit skinny so ill probs leave it.

Personally i think this is a 2 horse race with ella and jahmene leagues ahead, for an outside bet i'd consider melanie ew at 25s, some voice that lady.

"his nervousness is somewhat endearing"

The point is that this nervousness is being questioned as fake now which won't wash well.  I think he's going to get a lot of bad press this week.
