What? The golden days of snooker, were them, full of exciting bish bash bosh potters.

I played a few frames with this speed merchant, too.

Quite an amazing guy actually, with a great sporting background. It was at a snooker club in the Lace Market, in Nottingham, Methuselah Minor might just have been there on occasion, it was a bit of an all-night refuge for degens. The club was owned by David Singh's Dad, or Uncle.

David Singh, who was promoted at "Britain's first ever Asian Snooker Pro", is he still around, I wonder?

I know the Dad, or Uncle (John Singh maybe?) ended up in clink after a spot of insurance bother relating to his used car business on Castle Marina. The Insurance company got a bit cross after the place, & all the stock, burnt down. 5 times.

Anyway, Eddie Charlton is playing exhibition stuff in this iffy Club, & I get to play a best of three with him. The table was dreadful, & I do mean dreadful, it had more camber on it than the M1. So Eddie starts chuntering, because he is due to play a money match against young Singhy, & he thinks he has been set up for a proper wrong coup. (Which he had).

Eventually Eddie gets the hump, collects his gear, & storms ouit, uttering the immortal line "that's the WORST table I've ever played on in my entire life, & I've played EVERYWHERE, all the major venues, including Papau New Guinea".

Not entirely sure, but Eddie might have been on the puff or somesuch. It was much in evidence at the time, as Methuselah Minor will readily confirm.

Daily Report as @ 0720, Thursday October 11th

We broke even yesterday, so we have maybe turned the corner, or at least stemmed the tide of losses, helped, maybe, by the fact we never had a bet, & nothing completed. It's the way forward.

Tonight, however, we get back to winning ways, as NFL hotpot Kuku has given us a nice little NFL bet on Tennessee v Pittsburgh (UNDER 42.5) which I'm extremely bullish about. Keep dat faith.

Darts continues tonight, too.

If there are any recommends for tonight, please Post them early, as I'm working tonight from 6pm until Midnight, & won't be able to get Online in that period.

If there is any more NFL stuff tonight however (the game starts at 0120 tomorrow morning), I'll be able to process that, as I hope to stay up & watch the game after I've finished "work". Ooh, a late night, how exciting!

SPAM ALERT

On tonight's Show on Ch 861 (7pm until Midnight) the Special Guest will be fellow Freddie Neil Channing.

The "theme" for viewers questions will be a sort of TV "In The Well", so if you have any questioins for Neil, send them  in to "SkyOpen@bskyb" please. They need to be, loosely speaking, poker-related. Ish. Sort of. NFL & wagering generally are, of course, closely related to poker.

Here's the man himself with, you may be surprised to know, "Team Great Britain". You can name all 6 of course, right?

Did Fred back Van Gerwin?

Long time since I've seen a darts tournament look so wide open.

For this event, no, for the PDC World Championships, maybe.....

I'll explain properly later, I've gotta go do the day job right now.

Morning Mr Tikay. I am not sure you have noticed but 3G is favourite for the Fry golf tournament kicking off in California later today. As you know I read his blog and the signs are that he is taking it very seriously as he intends to play much more in the states. He flew over for this a week ago to get lots of practice in. I have of course donned my blind loyalty mug punter cap on and backed him outright but I feel he is 6 points too short to put him up for Fred. However as he did the business for us in the Ryder cup I have looked for another way to get with him.

Recommend 3G to be top European £20 @ 9/4 with Boylesport.

There are only 10 people in this market and I think 2 -1 or better is good value.

Morning hector.

No reason not to don the Blind Loyalty Mug Punter Cap occasionally, it reminds us of where we started.

We are in a bit of a lull right now, too, not much action, & Fred is generally a bit quiet after all the Ryder Cup stuff, with Football being on it's third mid-season break already, & me being a bit busy with the day job & stuff.

And of course 3G was an integral part of the Ryder Cup success, in some way his antics inspired everyone.

So yes, let's do it. Something for the weekend, & at little cost. Thank you.

The Market, for those interested, is here.....

I have been hunting for info on him for a couple of weeks. Unlike 3G he doesn't seem to have a blog and i can't find a site that lists golfers future engagements. I have even been looking at tournaments on the Asian tour but not found anything at all.

Maybe he has gone home? (With credit to Mitch, who found this map of Korea).

I like the look of under 6.5 180s in the Nicholson v Osbourne match tonight.
Both players are out of form and have never been big max hitters, it going to 5 sets should be the only real  danger  of it getting to 7+
In their last round matches both players hit 2 each in 5 sets.
Every other bookhas the line at 5.5, Hills go 6.5

The Baltimore Ravens have won their last 13 games at home

In their last 30 games against opponents from the NFC conference they are 24-5-1

On Sunday they host the Dallas Cowboys, of whom I am a big fan

Baltimore are 4-1 this season, the Cowboys 2-2

Whilst Baltimore are not quite the suffocating defense they used to be, that is compensated for by having more firepower on offense than previously. This season they have scored, in their five games 44,23,31, 23 and then 9 points last week in a 9-6 win

The Cowboys meanwhile have a good defense, and plenty of talent but have glaring weaknesses that mean they are a poor match up for the Ravens. This is primarily an Offensive live that is patchwork and lacks talent particularly in the interior. Going against Haloti Ngata, a destructive defensive lineman, is bad news for them and means that the Dallas QB Romo is unlikely to have the clean pocket he requires to consistently find his targets

We saw this against the Bears last time, where "bad" Romo threw various interceptions and the team lost heavily

Since then Dallas have had a bye week, which is in their favour. In fact that is worth looking at in more detail, as it is seen to be an advantage

Over the four most recent seasons in games where only one team is coming off the bye, the team coming off the bye has a record of 65-54-1 straight up, and 61-44-5 against the spread.

However, drilling down, Road Underdogs are 8-24 Straight / 14-18 Against the Spread coming off a bye so that is more encouraging. If a mediocre team has to travel the week after the bye, then the bye week is not necessarily an advantage against the favourite who hasn't had one...

The Cowboys are a Road Underdog, this week.

Baltimore are 10/11 -3.5 and 8/15 straight up

http://www.oddschecker.com/american-football/nfl/dallas-cowboys-at-baltimore-ravens/point-spread

I generally prefer to go against the spread. However on this occasion the match up and the demonstrable home advantage the Ravens have point me in the opposite direction

Before I looked at the prices, I expected it to be Ravens -5 or -6.

Recommend £50 Baltimore Ravens -3.5 10/11, available widely.

Putting this up early, and will be watching it, in the hope that public money takes the Cowboys to +3 by Sunday. This can happen, as the Cowboys have a big fan base and their markets can move as the recdonkfishamnon-pro money comes as the wekend starts

Game is 6pm our time Sunday.
