Tighty - starting to feel like Leicester might make a real break in this division soon. They are playing well even in the games they aren't winning (and that goes back to the start of the year).
I don't think there will be a runaway at the top this year. Division more competitive than ever

@Tal: I see Laddies have a book on the London Chess Classic.
Morning. Ooh I shall have a look. As they only play each other once, often there is some importance over who is drawn White against whom (for those who don't play, the player with white has the first move and a small advantage). The draw is made at the opening ceremony and that is the day before they start. There are two players in really good form: Magnus Carlsen the world number 1 (who has a chance to overtake Garry Kasparov as being the highest rated player of all time) and Fabiano Caruana, the young Italian/American (who has been challenging a number of tournaments of late). I'll have a look at the market but I suspect the draw could be pivotal.

I listened to the Blackburn/Sheff Wed game on 5live extra last Wednesday and the co commentator was Kevin Gallagher who still lives in Blackburn and watches them alot.
He basically confirmed they are playing poorly and in every game he's seen they have invited teams to attack them particularly in the second half and get deeper and deeper.
They have won one in six and that was against a bottom 3 side.
Watford have won 2 out of their last 3 away.
Personally I think Watford at 16/5 is too big and they should be shorter. I've backed them.

I wouldn't recommend backing the Hornets due to the fact Chalobah is suspended I think who is the midfield general. He's double importance in away games as he gets his foot on the ball when the team is under pressure. Need to confirm the suspension though.
Agree Hanley is capable but Doyley should be able to put a decent show up against him (I thought he might be against a speed merchant on his weaker foot)

I should just explain my last post, as I've re-read it and it doesn't make a lot of sense! I meant that there are only two players in really good form right now, which is relevant because only one of those - Carlsen - is in the London Classic. He's 5/6 with a 3/1 bar. Not sure how appealing that really is, tbh.
Kramnik has done well in this tournament in the past and 7/2 isn't bad at all.
Every tournament has someone who outperforms the pack; it is as though they take it in turns. The difference for the last 2 years has been that Carlsen has been in the mix at nearly every tournament with them.
I'd hold fire for now unless anyone has a better idea.

42 at the half @ South Carolina :-( 46 just in to the 2nd quarter at North Carolina :-( We just got unlucky with the weather. East Carolina go at 20.30.

MVG manages to average 7 points higher than his opponent and lose. Significance? Now pretty much a lock to be in Taylor's half of the draw at the WC.

Where are you getting 11/4? Try the handicap +1 if you missed it
