Think the each way part could be argued to still be value at 2-1 top 3, even if he played 6 out of 8 possible innings.

Cook
Compton
Trott
KP
Bell
Samit

I would argue that Compton on his first tour, and Samit, shouldn't be top three run scorers

So Dubai could be right

Surely a top batsmen can cope with any sort of delivery? Faster the better, I'd have thought.

Has Fred still got a Stan James or VC account?

Niall on RUK highlighted he had backed Graham Lee for next years jockey's championship and at 20/1 looks like a great bet to me.

He's had 81 winners this term despite not riding for the first two months of the season and starting with virtually no contacts in the flat game.

Now he is widely used by many trainers, Stoute, Ed Dunlop, Haggas to name but three and has a very strong backing in the north Goldie, Duffield, O'Meara.

He is obviously hungry for success and very dedicated, often travelling the length of the country for one or two mounts.

I suggest £25 @ 20/1

The more I look at this, the more I like it.

Looking at the opposition:

Hughes has gone flat out for the title the last 3 years, riding everywhere and anything, and he's finally got it this year. He looks terrible, about 15 years older than he actually is and I wouldn't be surprised if he took it easy next season going for quality over quantity. 5/4 terrible value

Moore is the quality jockey in the field imo. But he obv doesn't give a damn about the jockeys title. He was odds on this year and showed no inclination to try an inch to win it. Now his mate Hughes has finally won it, he might be tempted next season, but I doubt it.

De Sousa had his chance and didn't win it.  Now he's at Godophin, his rides are limited as they have a a handful of jocks splitting the mounts. He'll still get 100 winners, but doubt he'll have enough chances to get 150+ I'd be a layer at 7/1

Buick has a chance. But can Gosden have such an amazing season as he's had this term? You'd have to imagine Stoute, Haggas and a couple of others who've had down years would bounce back next term and cut the Gosden winner machine. He might be hungry enough to have a crack if he's close come autumn next year. 7/1 is fair imo.

Dettori. Don't make me laugh. 14/1? Add a couple of noughts to that.

Hanagan is probably value at 20/1 too. He has settled down in his new job and is riding as well as ever. If he wants to have another crack at it, he could be a runner.

Doyle, Spencer, Fallon and any other are a million.

I think Graham Lee has an outstanding chance.

Up the suggestion to £50 @ 20/1

If you are going to have the Graham Lee bet, I suggest having £10 on Buick at 7/1 and £5 on Hanagan at 20s too and you'll have a nice punters book.

Graham Lee is an outstanding bet imo. I was going to wait and see how many start he got on the handicap but that's not an option now.

Lee is the best there is in the north. Robert Winston would have gonne close a few years ago riding in the north until the Ayr incident and Lee is a class apart to him.

Can't have Hanagan as a runner myself. Buick at 7-1 a sensible cover but Hughes will be the man to beat again. He buys into the whole idea of being champion jockey and will go for it again imo.

agreed personally i havent been as blown away by lee as some have but its hard to say he wont have the backing of the north which is pretty crucial.

cant be long before hughes starts training or at least having more involvement?

If Sir Chompy and Lord horsey endorse it as a good bet, lets go for the gusto.

Suggest £100 @ 20/1.

Is this Jockey bet thing "win only", or EW?

If we are going for Buick & Hanagan to make a book, win only I assume?
