I may be the only one sad enough to have my curiosity awoken, but I HAD to find out what "Gonzaga" was.

like the Starks bet, great spot Bobby.

Even more so after reading this....

Coach Mike McCarthy expressed displeasure with James Starks' performance in the Week 11 win over the Lions.

Starks rushed 25 times for 74 yards, a meager 2.96 yards-per-carry average. "We left a lot of production on the field was my conclusion after going through the tape," McCarthy said. The coach went on to lament not using Alex Green more. The ex-starter had no touches. "Frankly, Alex Green not getting carries was a poor performance by myself managing how we were running the ball," McCarthy said. "We'll continue forward working both James and Alex." Owners should expect more of a committee approach against the Giants this week, leaving both backs as undesirable fantasy plays

Would Fred members be interested in owning a horse for next Flat season? If we could get enough interested it'd be workable I think.

MVG between 11-4 and 4-1 but will start nearer the shorter price once they all realise he's now in the other half of the draw. Great news that.

I'm interested although not at all sure that I could afford a share.

I would have thought that a dog would be more feasible.

MvG might have to win for either to be on the cards for me..

I would have thought so, given they are a roman catholic college and the Americans love for being Irish.

Aside from the purchase price, how much are things like stable fees? They would be the same irrespective of how good the horse is, right?

I would potentially be interested.

Dog has the benefits of regular runs, cheap to maintain and more likely to get a winner of two. Downside is susceptibility to injury. A few friends of mine spent five figures on a puppy between them a couple of years back in the hope of getting a derby runner. One bad fall at a corner and it was done.

Horse has the benefit of a big day out at the races in morning dress (if you like, whether Fred gets to Ascot or not Wink )

Depends entirely on figures for me. I doubt I would be able to contribute as significantly as others but I'm a romantic at heart and this seems like it could be a labour of love

bets for tuesday

£5 - Hammond to score first @ home to bristol city (should be 17/1 on ladbrokes)

- possibility he might be our new pen taker, gets forward a lot too (poyet said hes installing a new taker as we keep missing, and hammond used to take them for us in first spell. dobbie will if he starts but hasn't lately)

£5 - Brighton 5-0 67/1 Betfred. Should have been 5-0 at half time V bolton. Bristol City are probably a slightly poorer team, someone will get spanked soon Smiley

Suggestion I would like other people's viewpoints on - I will only tip the Championship btw, as I am obtuse - Watford at 3.12 to win away to Sheffield Wednesday.

Weds have lost their last 4 straight, and Watford have won their last 3 in 5. Aside from form I know nothing so would like some opinions.

Hi mate.

To put it bluntly recent form is the last thing you should base a bet on.

The whole world can see that Sheff have lost their last 4 and Watford are startng to gel and coming into form.

Looking at the most recent results and betting on the basis of them is the way an ice cream bets.

The way to beat the game is using information the general market doesn't know.

Whether it be subjective.. You feel Crystal Palace are performing way better than it's results suggest.

Or (even better) objective.. You were in the pub last night and Team Xs star striker and top rated goalie were there until closing time pissed out of their brains and today they are 4/6 at home to Team Y.

If you are just betting on previous results the juice will eat you up and you will go skint.
