Thanks for the talk of MVP Andrew. I have had a bet in that market now and think it's probably worth a small thread bet.

Tony Gonzalez to be the Superbowl MVP at 66/1 with Laddies, Atlanta are 6/1 to win the Superbowl so at 66/1 it puts him in at around to 17/2 to be voted MVP if they do win it. He cannot be 17/2 to be voted MVP if Atlanta win it given he is widely respected and admired by the fans and press who make up the vote. He is almost certain to retire at the end of the season which will be highlighted both going into and during the game. He would have a great chance if Atlanta win and he puts up over 50-60 yards and a TD which are easily reachable for him.

Maybe worth a fiver or tenner for thread.

Is this a hedge by another name? A green (back)door? A Shakin' Stevens?

Well we are all hoping that Atlanta get knocked out this week but the prices are the prices and they are 6/1 to win their last 2 games at the moment. If nothing else everyone holding a losing San Fran ticket will be on something at a big price in the SB if the 49ers go out this weekend.

SPORTS BET ALERT!!

As usual when i post on here,it's not a tip as such but a price discrepency!!

Tomorrows ODI batsmen runs

Gambhir under/over 22.5 paddy  but  u/o 29.5 laddies
Bell u/o 22.5 paddy  but u/o 29.5 laddies
Cook u/o 23.5 paddy  but 31.5 laddies

obv someone is wrong somewhere so there is value in whatever you want to do.
i thought about emptying the clip for massive middles bets at the prices but checked for cook and gambhir and they hit the figures( i.e 23-29 for Gambhir only about 10% of the time)

as i think Cooks in great nick ive bet over 23.5.

I'm generally a spreads man on the cricket, but feels to me like Laddies are too high on these openers.  A batsman either gets set or he doesn't so I'd say with the binary nature of the bet the lower market looks closer to me.  I'm just thinking aloud here really.  Of course due to the (comparative) limitless upside on the spreads the quote will be nearer the batsman's average.  On the fixed odds if you put his under/overs at the average I would be going unders on every player every match.

Abso love this bet.

Saw Gonzalez interviewed after the game last night and he came across as an absolutely top bloke-not that we should be betting on this basis but cert doesn't hurt.

Seemed to be saying that they were freerolling now after basically looking dead and buried with seconds to go.

66/1 seems way too big.

Saying this as someone with a san fran ticket, and bar this i won't be greening but instead pressing at 1.6ish, just pissed i missed the -3 quotes immed after the game.

Gonzalez cut to 40/1.

I got on at 66/1 as soon as Phil Posted the bet, Andrew, but I'm not in a position to C & P the betslip yet, as I'm tied up elsewhere on the ippy.

Details later, but we risked a whole fiver. Wink

Gonzalez cut to 40/1.

It's a problem with super flimsy markets these days, it just won't take much to shorten the prices.

Some fun reading for a cold winter's evening

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/46/sporting-events/nfc-divisional-round-green-bay-packers-san-francisco-49ers-1285545/

How Colin Kaepernick turns a load of cynical poker players into believers over the course of about 200 minutes.

Several "when is Harbaugh going to put a real QB in?" posts at the start of the thread!

Thanks Phil.

Deffo worth a fun fiver, & if anything goes wrong with the 49-ers thing, we might just get out of it.

We have £5 @ 66/1, Ladbrokes, Tony Gonzalez to be Superbowl MVP.

The bandwagon is rolling and the San Fran line is moving ever upward. Nearly 4.5 now.

With that, their Superbowl price is contracting.

My estimation is that 2/1 is roughly neutral ev, so greening out at that level there is fine.

I doubt it will touch 2.9, but that would be the price I'm tempted to bail out at.

Talking of the MVP, surely if the 49ers win then your boy Colin (how can u have a hero called Colin, he needs to change that) must be the MVP. He's 4/1 on paddy. Sounds like 4/1 on what Keef has at a 2/1 shot (49ers winning) no?

Here's the full list of Superbowl MVPs.

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/award_sbmvp.htm

11 of the last 20 have been the QB of the winning team.

Assuming a Pats/SF game, the points line will be insanely high, making it even more likely an offensive player will win it.

I guesstimate it's 4/6 the winning teams QB is MVP. Double that with 2/1 the Niners and you get 4/1!

4/1 on Skybet according to my phone.

Think it's a really good bet and good price.

However would be worried that Arsenal desperately need a win and Swansea having quite a few games this season.
