Daily Report as @ 1020, Thursday January 17th
£43 went the way of the bookies satchel yesterday.
Two bets, both lost.
We did £10 on CBB, when Heidi Spencer survived eviction, & £33 on an NBA affair.
Our bet on Ryan to win CBB at 7/4 currently looks very handsome indeed, with Ryan around 1/4.
QPR remain a 4/7 shot to be relegated, we are on at 8/5.
Federer, who we are on at 5/1, remains freely available at 6/1.

Question re E/W betting...
Watford 33/1 to win league but 1/5th odds for top 3.
If I put £250 (total stake) on top 3 finish, and they come 3rd, what profit do I make?!

Tipping my hat to Tighty here. I had not bet tonight but started watching the snooker with Selby 5-1 down to Bingham and getting crushed, but somehow he has the resolve to reel off 5 frames in a row to win 6-5. Many sportsmen give up when they are up against it, but one must give huge credit to Selby here - what a warrior - great to watch.
Amazing temperament from Selby.
He's 9/2 and has Williams next
Willams/Stevens played out the lowest quality 10 frames I have seen from two top sixteens in years yesterday afternoon. Almost embarrassing to watch then struggle so
Trump is 3-1 favourite, but I am happy to be on Selby.

Federer faces Murray in the semi final.
In other long term betting news, Tarla goes in the 2.40 at Navan, she is 1.42 on Betfair, which is a shade bigger than 2/5. She has the beating of all the main rivals on form. She should just have to stay up. Must be a big milder in Ireland, was -6.5 this morning where I am.
The Splash second series remains resolutely 2/1. Am beginning to think they must know more than me and that Tom Daley must be betting the other side.

@doobs. How are your ten-to-follow going, got any decent lines?
I think my best is around 270 which is well off the leaders who are 400+

Miles away from the lead. The best list is on 322, which is about 1500th. Tarla doesn't help me.

I'm surprised you've never heard of a karabiner Dan, especially after playing with all of the Greeks in Birmingham a few years back.
Karabiner was the Greek term for super-rock.

It seems I generated some worthwhile debate, was really just checking with Rich if he still liked the bet, in light of the moves in recent months. On the greening issue, do the shrewdies put any allowance on the tying up of the capital. We have an 8/5 shot for which we have to wait 5 months for a return, on an outcome that is perceived around 4/7 or 1/2 on a well traded market. Knowing we can currently bank a profit around the perceived current odds. Is the release of capital to allow further investment considered at all? this is not a question for Fred, I am fascinated by the logic of it all

As above put plus your winning stake back so (125*33*0.2)+125
