Man U 2nd string? 10/1 Fulham from yday

Sorry wifi terrible, someone put this up yesterday.  Suggest £20 if not too late

Have had £10 @ 11.5 (21/2) on Betty.

Will find who suggested it & Post the details shortly.

Bugger. Man U a goal up in 3 minutes.

Just had to wander round aspers Stratford to get a signal to post that and place bet.  Thought I better post something as advised waiting  Sad

Manchester United v Fulham in the FA Cup on Saturday teatime - I can't have it that Fulham are 11/1  in this.
9/1 DNB with United being as short as 1/25 DNB

I am aware of Fulham's pretty poor record away from home in recent years, and their record vs United but they won away at The Hawthorns last weekend and that's no easy game, plus the game in August wasn't a straightforward win for us and I wouldn't be surprised to see a less than full strength United team.

9/1 DNB looks the bet?

 Hi david,

After considerable ditherage, we eventually had a bet after hearing that Man U were fielding a very weak team.

Unforch, no sooner had we got on, than Man U went a goal up. Whoops.

I also bet the win, not the DNB.

That apart, it has all gone to plan.......

As far as Fred is concerned, you are on a freeroll. If Fulham win, the bet is owned by you, if they lose, the bet gets credited to me.

We have £10 @ 11.5, Betfair, Fulham to beat Man U this evening.

ON

Man Utd v Fulham
Fulham Match Odds    11.5    £10.00    £105.00
Bet Ref: 24769726070M Bet matched: 17:28 26-Jan-13 (UTC)

Put it down to me.  I made the error and have enough "credit" to take the knock

You are a Gent, & yes, you have plenty of ROI credit in the bank.

We had better wait & see if they win though. Wink

I'll take it, I'm one of the few on here who isn't unhappy to see United win

There's a £60 profit on my little portfolio today, thanks to Barnsley winning at Hull at 4-1

Coventry and Huddersfeld both drew, having been ahead, so it was close-ish to a proper scoop

However on a very trappy day, eg wins for Luton, MK Dons , I think we can be satisfied

I was tempted to post on Fred this morning that I thought we were too big at 4/1 today, but was reluctant to put another Barnsley suggestion up as I'm never 100% sure I'm seeing things objectively as far as their 1-2-X price goes (goalscorer/manager markets are different).

Saw your post (and redsimon's) on FB earlier and was reassured that it wasn't just me.

Did Fred get on?  Gone back a few pages and can't see anything so I assume it was a Tips for Tighty entry, or just a personal punt.

No, Tft had £25 at 4-1

A good win? Or a fortunate one?

How did Hull look?

Look to back Barnsley at underdogs in the league?

We were on 24 hours early!

Tighty is very efficient, so it gives me no excuses not to get  on.

A resilient win.  Soaked up pressure in the first half and rode our luck a couple of times (homer ref didn't help matters).

Second half was more even, and we scored the winner after a classic moment of goalmout pinball (can't wait to see it on TV tonight as I'm pretty sure one of their guys handled the ball on the line at one point in the melee.

Hull didn't look great today, but I wouldn't read too much into that with regard to their league form.

As for backing us, it's a case of finding the value spots as we will genuinely be underdogs in a lot of games, so the price might often be right.  We're definitely more resilient since Flicker changed the formation, and look harder to beat away from home, so these big away prices are the ones to look out for.

The only downside was all the league results went the wrong way today.  I'd imagine we'd be a big price to stay up (need to investigate later) and I like our chances better than I did a few weeks ago, but we need to close the gap quickly.

Big home game vs Millwall on Tuesday.  That should tell us a lot (and no doubt we'll draw them away in the 5th round too!)

resilient - from the latin resilire (to spring back)

It's the same root for the word result, believe it or not. A resulting trust sees someone have the benefit of the trust money for a defined period and then it springs back to the original holder. In football, a result is what you get after all the effort has been put in; this is what you get back.

Massive de-rail there. Just a word I really like Smiley

Evening Mr T. Has anyone proposed backing Murray tomorrow ? His record in this tournament is very impressive. Didn't drop a set until Federer and in terms of points won, errors, and winners he outplayed him. Djokovic has only looked good in his match with Ferrer who was exhausted from his previous 5 setter. 13/8 with Betfred looks good to me.

Evening Hector, don't often see you here on a Saturday evening.

Back Murray, for tomorrow morning? There has not been a suggestion previously, ( to win outright ), or not that I recall.

Are you suggesting £20 or thereabouts?

I ran into an Irish poker player...no names...(made November 9, young fella). He is a fantastic judge of tennis and betting and plays the game to a high standard.

Obv 1st question was: "What are the correct prices?" his reply "13/8 and 8/13 are spot on".

I spoke to two other pros (not specialiists in tennis but good gamblers) and they fancied Djork at 8/13.

I was thinking I'd have a punt as I'm here and watching it, but only if they could persuade me I was getting a couple of pips of value.

At 4/6 I might play or at 15/8 I might back Murray. Probably no bet for me though.

I have backed him myself and I think Fred should invest a modicum amount - £25 perchance ? Then we can have early morning coffee sweats whilst our cricketers are freezing their nads off, but with a wonderful view.
