I really like the look of the overs on the number of 4's, 6's and boundaries in the next ODI between England and NZ. One look at the history of games here and you will see the ground is a run fest -
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/records/team/match_results.html?class=2;id=453;type=ground
. England got 340 last time they played here and NZ went on to match it!
Over 9.5 sixes is EVS, over 43.5 fours is 5/6 and over 53.5 boundaries is also 5/6. Best bet is probably over 53.5 boundaries @ 5/6 with William Hill
I meant to post this earlier but forgot, it's probably a bit late now since it starts in an hour, sorry!

Sorry gherkin, you Posted way after my bedtime.
Tighty posted yesterday to say he felt a lot of runs weere likely, but there was no "Overall Total" Market, so we were looking for some other way to get on, this would have been ideal.
As I write.....
New Zealand got 269.
England are 193/2 after 39 overs.
Total 4's so far = 37
Total 6's so far = 7.
If you had Posted earlier, we would have been on for sure.
Thank you, anyway.

Wiki tells me this is The Seven Acts of Mercy and it depicts the Catholic concept of there being seven types of merciful acts:
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Seven_Works_of_Mercy_(Caravaggio
)
Caravaggio had the most incredible ability to make his paintings come to life.
A lot of his stuff was religious, which he's hardly unique for as everyone was at it back then.
Very few cows cut in half in early 17th Century Rome.
but do you see what the dame on the right is up to with the old bloke? If I didn't know better she's about to turn round and bum him in the mouth.
I'm learning this stuff, too, but here's what wiki says:
"2 and 3.
Visit the imprisoned
, and
feed the hungry
; On the right, a woman visits an imprisoned man and gives him milk from her breast. This image alludes to the classical story of Roman Charity."
Last bit of artsy nonsense for now, promise.

Back on brief, a cricket stat:
Simon Mann - BBC Test Match Special
"Joe Root is the first England player to start his one-day international career with six scores of 30 or more."

T20 & ODI nonsense count as "International career"?
Brian Close must shudder when he reads that. Not sure he follows TfT though.

Well, not wishing to be a Peter Pedant, here, but ODIs do count as "one-day international career"...

Think Tikay must be referring to Close shuddering with excitement about Joe Root's emergence as a cricketing talent.

Great bet by gherkin, just a shame it was too late at night for Fred.
Bugger.
Well done those who got on, though.

Final Corner count.......
Porto 11, Malaga 2.
Very well done humus.
but was it a good bet?
I messed about with excel and if the first half is won the bet is huge odds on to be won.
Given the way humas reckoned the match would be played 8 porto corners to malaga's 4 seems a reasonable guesstimate.
Based on that porto were about 73% to win the first half and at worse (only 1 corner ahead) 85% to hold in the second half.
So that adds up to an 8/13 shot, so def great value imo.

I genuinely don't know. The fact that it won so easily is, of course, not necessarily relavent.
10 hours after we placed the bet, Adam "rfqqqgddnbjytfbjj" Posted that a better bet was -2 on the Handicap @ 5/6, which, on the face of it, seems correct.
Truly, I'm confused.
Anyway, well done humus, whether the logic was correct or not, it got us nicely out of it yesterday.
Be interesting to work it all out though. 90% of my off-thread stuff is on sub-markets, rather than the main "outrights". There are so many of them, there are bound to be a few mis-priced ones. Proving they are a mis-price, though, is quite beyond me.
