Why oh why didn't I back Blackpool to go down, 15/2 best price now. This beats betfair by a bit although the spread is 5.4-7.6 with only £32-12 on. Might be worth £8 for Fred but with PP so maybe not worth it for account reasons.
I'm hoping that's the best emotional bet I've made for a while and with a bit of luck Agent Ince does the job!

Id like to contribute if i may.
Having spent the last 4 hours going through the musselbrough card the only bet ive had is in the 2.20
and it revolves around
Cheers for Thea
This horse is no spring chicken but its a terrible race. The horse has been plummeting down the weights for a while but last time was much more encouraging staying on 3rd in a race on the AW at wolves. The horse has dropped 15lbs since its last run on turf, we know it stays the trip and big mick easterby is among the winners recently. Im really struggling to see 2 horses infront of it. As a saver ive opted for one a little out of the handicap in
Bandy Bob
.
It has shown a little promise and is unexposed which is a positive in this lineup and could prove easily good enough for the grade, at 16/1 it will do for me.
My personal bets are £200 e/w 9/2 and £40 e/w 16s so i don't know how thread wanna work with it,
prob reccomend £20 e/w and £5 e/w and any price above 7/2 i would be betting as i tissued it as 3/1 in a 100% book. GL if you choose it as a bet.

Hahaha, I'm involved now too
Mr Trigg sir, would you recommend taking the prices now or waiting until the morning?
As an aside: Doncaster 2/1 vs Swindon. I know we have outperformed form wise this season, but I'd love to know what this means in regards to how they rate Swindon. Seems like it might shorten but oddschecker bet tracker (That pie chart thing below the market) shows Swindon being back more than Rovers. However, I have no idea if that is accurate, and personally I try to click through oddschecker as rarely as possible.

if you can get on with NRNB bookie id probably take now. If u wait till the morning and its 7/1 id probably leave it altogether lol, mr easterby has a habit of backing the ones that end up winning and drifts are not good

Belated report on the chess:
http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=58441.msg1745829#msg1745829
Carlsen's conqueror, Vassily Ivanchuk.
Carlsen was borderline petulant in his press conference but there seems no doubt he will be fighting for these last two games. He was highly critical of the way he played and left nothing to chance in making that clear.
He needs 1½ out of his remaining 2 to stand a chance and 2 wins to be virtually certain.
Just one quick point about the above: on the far right, there is the rating performance, with an explanation of how much the rating will increase/decrease by as a result of the comp. Carlsen is to drop by just a single point, which means he is essentially performing in line with expectations. This highlights how impressive Kramnik's performance has been.
Everyone is getting tired (I know, I know...but it is exhausting) so it is all still to play for.

It won't help your horse run faster Action man, but pretty sure mick easterby was 82 yesterday, and he is the sort who would like a birthday winner

Wouldn't get a complex BigAdz it is just opinions but realistically what price would you make Westwood?
[/quote]
I suspect pre tourny his price is about right, but some mitigating factors suggest he may do better.
Last year you saw Westwood on a racecourse as often as a golf course, and he was obviously losing focus/interest. This year he has sacked coach and caddy, moved his family to Florida, in order to be better prepared and be able to develop a regular practice regime, in a better climate. I expect he hasn't been racing this year as he has only had one or two sand runners so far.
His problem this year, as pointed out has been his long game, with him shorting well above average on par
. He seems happier this week and is back under par.
Finally, playing Augusta, I expect, is a bit like meeting the queen. High excitement, many nerves, and not sure how to conduct yourself in such austere company the first few times you meet. Augusta also seems to like stories and triers. Lee has both.
Westwood have been there enough times now, it's like an old glove.
So couple a new found desire, a solid practice regime, a sparkling recent course record, and a decent performance this week. Put aside the fact it's Lee Westwood it seems a recipe for a shorter price.
It doesn't sit well that he is my recommend, I have never ever backed the bloke, but, as Tighty said to me this week, objectivity is the key. Too many nos out there to be a bet now, but at least you may get my drift.

Cambridge 5/2 in an illiquid betfair market.
Can any team be 5/2 in the Boat Race? Two strong crews and Oxford deservedly favourites.
I'll let someone impartial decide on that.

Great to have you here Rick, thank you.
I often wonder what you must think of Fred/me, what with me being so damn Nitty & all that, betting in fivers & tenners sometimes, & you being a high-roller balla sort. I LOVED your Cheltenham enthusiasm & comments, starting months ahead of the Fessie.
Hang around, please, we need guys like you.
Anyway.......
Cheers For Thea is a NR unfortunately, but we have had a small interest in Bandy Bob. The price has contracted, as the bet was placed AFTER the withdrawl of Cheers For Thea.
PP restricted me to £2.25 EW, so I took the rest at a worse price with BetFred.
We have.....
£2.25 EW @ 22/1, Paddy Power, Bandy Bob, 2.20 Musselburgh.
£2.75 EW @ 16/1, BetFred, Bandy Bob, 2.20 Musselburgh.

I can barely believe Mick Easterby is still training!
He was training winners when I first began punting, back in the 1960's. He had a brother, too, Peter, but their initials wre confusingly alike, think it was MH Easterby & MW Easterby. I still can't recall which was which. Mick trained over both codes.
Mick was shrewd, VERY shrewd, & not entirely straight. Must have made pots of money from the ring. His jockey for many years was one of the great flat jockeys of my era, Eddie Hide, who must have ridden thousands of winners.
His best horse was a beautiful jet black sprinter, with that characteristic sprinters thick neck & huge rear end, Lochnager, who won the Kings Stand, July Cup & Nunthorpe, & I backed him every time, the horse was 100% game & genuine, even when carting top weight time after time in all the big spring handicaps.
He trained a Cheltenham Fesssie winer, too, Peterhof.
Not sure if it was Mick or Peter who trained Mrs McCardy to win the 1000 Guineas.
Here is a rather bad photo, but the best I could find, of Lochnager. Despite the poor photo, his incredibly muscled up sprinters neck is clearly visible.

Eddie Hide, Mick's jockey, was "Cock o the North" for many a year, & must have rode the best part of 3,000 winners. Despite being known as a a "northern jockey", he rode 5 or 6 Classic Winners including Morston.
Morston was part of an amazing story, even though he is widely regarded as the worst Derby winner ever.
The Derby was only his 2nd ever race, he had won his first race, but he was injured after the Derby & never ran again.
Incredibly, he was bred, owned and trained by the same man, Arthur Budgett.
Even more incredibly, 4 years earlier, Arthur had achieved the same feat with Blakeney, as breeder, owner & trainer, winning the Epsom Derby.
Blakeney & Morston were named after villages or hamlets in Norfolk, a bus ride apart. I went & visited both once just to be able to say I had seen them. Pretty daft when you think about it, but I was horseracing nuts back then.
Still an incredible thing though, to own, breed & train 2 Derby winners, both named after villages in sleepy Norfolk.
OK, sorry, I'll stop with the rambling & reminiscing. Blame Trigg.

FML.
A now Deleted Post by (personal number plate) tells me the trainer of Cheers For Thea is TIM Easterby, Mick's nephew I believe.
Trust me to get it right round my neck, & write a ton of waffle about the wrong bloke.
Move on, next case, lost the plot here.
