For the Basketball Nuts, the NCAAB "Elite Eight" is on ESPN now.

Yesterdays (?) Game was terrific, I'm almost hooked.

There is a double header tonight, first up......

Michigan Wolverines v Florida Gators.

Think it is the Southern Regional Final.

I'm with the Wolverines for mini-money. How can they lose?

Louisville v Duke has been great so far but one of the Louisville players has literally snapped one of his legs, it looks horrific his team mates are visibly upset, I'm not sure how they carry on here.

Think its probably the right time to take Paddy Powers 9/4 Chelsea not to finish top 4- beating bf price for starters and theres every reason to think the market is wrong anyway.

Spin have Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenals midpoint for points as 69.5 69 and 68.5 respectively, basically suggesting the fixed odds markets should be very close. However to finish top 4, Chelsea are 1.47, Arsenal 1.77 and Spurs 1.81

Seems to be a bit of bias in the fixed odds markets based on reputation, and the spread firms suggest the price is certainly wrong. I wont go into detail about runins etc as thats obviously built into the Spin spread, but something thats probably under represented in the price is the situation with Benitez. He is very unlikely to be there next season, therefore in terms of his own progression, CV etc- its far more beneficial for him to win a trophy rather than finish top 4 if there was a choice. Seems a good time to get with. Obviously welcome to opinions but recommend a decent £80@ 9/4

Doncaster still ~2/1 vs Swindon tomorrow on Sky. Pretty funny, both play much better away from home. 10/11 BTTS seems very fair to me. I know at 4/5 I wanted ~2.7 goals with Spin with a low supremacy and this game is 2.45 with 0-0.2 Supremacy. Probably a touch short.

However, I do think i have a bet. SPIN go 10.5-11 on corners and Hills over 2/1 over 12 corners. This seems pretty big. Redarmi, any help here? Betfred are 11/10 12 or more Hills 2/1 Over 12. Seems off to me.

Really like Dubai's post. <3 SPIN

Funny to see Dubai's post as I log in here as I've just had a chinwag with my brother and my old man about odds of things and we all stated that FA Cup >> top 4 for Benitez and even if the Russian wants top 4, it's not him at the training ground and in the dressing room before the game.

Obv just following Dubai's opinion on this thread is being like that guy who puts up £7k on every horse at 1.01 on the machine but, nevertheless, at the risk of stating the obvious, he talks sense.

Latest report on the action at the Institute of Engineering and Technology in London is up on Chess Thread:

Lovely picture of the venue - I assume this is from a bridge(?)

Don't worry about Kramnik being above Carlsen on this crosstable. It is just because the traditional method is the chess equivalent of the Duckworth Lewis and Kramnik edges that by a gnat's wing at present. Matters not, though, as the tie break before that is the number of wins and that cannot be tied if the scores finish the same. Carlsen has currently won once more than Kramnik.

Will it be our guy...

...or this guy...

...who gets to play for the World Championship against this guy...

Vishy Anand?

We find out tomorrow.

I was looking at the table in detail earlier as well as run ins and looks highly likely to me that they will finish 5th. Didnt realise there was this specific market and certainly 9/4 is generous as i think they are actually favs for 5th so to get 9/4 is value.

Benitez rumour looks like bullshit - this is why Lineker shouldn't pass on Twitter rumours.

We got restricted, but I took all they offered me, £30 @ 9/4.

Will confirm  details later, but we have £30 @ 9/4,  Paddy Power, Chelsea NOT to finish top 4.

Horrible to see, though Louisville seem to be coping so far, they were 2 behind but lead 35-32 at half time.
