Wolves market still open and Jackett's price collapsed this morning.  He moved from 4/1 with some in to 1/2 best priced, and 1/3 with Corals who have always been the ones to take him on.

Is that the chap that horsey is on?

Hope so.

Yes, Horsey put him up when he resigned at the same time Saunders was given his marching orders from Wolves.

Baseball

Tampa Bay Rays beat Miami Marlins 3-1 and the New York Yankees lost 9-4 to the New York Mets

Our back up team Boston Red Sox lost 4-3 to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Cool Marky

Although I was looking forward to using my "No Jackett Required" headline, when someone else got the job......

He is now 1/6 with Coral, I have SSN on one screen and am hitting F5 repeatedly on what seems to be the best (oxymoron) Wolves fan forum...

I remember someone suggested Paul O' Connell as the possible Lions captain, but can't recall who it was and I think it was off the back of an MoM display somewhere.

I see he has now been installed as captain for the first test, in place of the injured Warburton and might be worth investigating if you were on given the stance Ladjokes took back along.

No he is captain for the first GAME not the first test

the first test is three weeks away

Epsom ground is now good to soft, soft patches and the going stick thingy suggests the stands' side is quicker in the straight. It's supposed to dry for the next two days but you'd want guaranteed stamina in the Oaks imo.

I expect Moth to drift.

What price would you say Moth becomes a bet at?

You'd expect Dawn Approach to drift too?  The ground would be good for Ocovango, but that has some possible stamina issues too.

lord kenneth of jackett

Corals going from 5/4 to 1/6 in 15 minutes is the bit I like most, especially after Camel saying that he thought their Football guy was ITK at Wolves

I would think he'll drift tomorrow if they start coming near side and finish strung out. There tends not to be much between the two sides on genuine good to soft though - the ground is still quicker near side but they have to travel that much further. By Saturday, if the weather forecasts are right, they'll all be staying up the inner.

Re: Mothballs, I wouldn't expect her to drift dramatically purely because she's trained by Aidan O'Listen. If she was with a Hughie or a Rafe though, she'd be sliding by now. Maybe 4/1. I'd back her at 5/1.

Here is Nick Mordin's take on the Derby and Oaks, and the possible stamina issues.

http://www.chef-de-race.com/dosage/classics/2013/2013_epsom_derby-oaks_preview.htm

Chompy will testify he is a controversial character, so you'll get people who swear by him and others who think he is a clown.

On the dosage ratings, he has both Dawn Approach and Battle of Marengo as doubtful stayers.  That should be a plus for backing the each way horses.  I was of the view that Ocovango had possible stamina issues, but he has a low dosage index.  On reading that, you'd think Ruler of The World and Ocovango look good, and I'd probably put Chopin above Mars.  Incidently, Battle of Marengo is running in cheekpieces, and I wouldn't take that as a positive either.

There doesn't seem to be much reasoning to pick Moth.   I would be of the view that Secret Gesture would be more likely to stay than Moth, but there isn't a whole lot between the dosage index of the protagonists.

I obviously have a biased eye from my own book though. Wink

FWIW The Epsom ground dries out reasonably quickly.

Mordin. Used to swear by his National selection. Last few years though he selections are lay material all year long.

I'm sure he is very intelligent, friendly etc etc, but if I produced those sort of results in my job....it wouldn't be my job!
