Bad news for the Southampton bet as they have just signed Victor Wanyama for £12m from Celtic.Easily the best player to leave Scotland since Henrik Larsson.
If he stays injury free he will goto the very top.

Why didn't a top team get him if that's the case?
I thought he would be a great signing for the likes of Arsenal or Liverpool in England. If he had only played in the SPL I could see why Big Clubs hesistate but he was one of tge better players in last years Champions League.
Tal, Gordon cost me a right few quid when he made one of the best saves I have ever seen for Sunderland.Last I heard he was training for some lower League Scottish side.

Unfortunately, Scottish football has got so bad that it's hard to tell the very good from the outstanding.

Gordon looked for all the world like a top keeper. I'm not sure what happened to him, other than injuries and maybe some confidence issues.

Seemed a real shame.

There were some cracking players to come from north of the border. Like this one. Technically, we signed him from Chelsea, but he was at Hibs before that.

Anyone remember his nickname?

It's up there with "One Size" Fitz Hall. Almost.

Jukebox

Hence why I mentioned he was outstanding against some of the best sides in Europe last year.

To be fair to gordon

He has broken his arm twice, then fractured it and had to have a plate put in.

Had tendon problems with his knee had a double operation (more plates) on that and a cruciate which still troubled him last season hence why he did not sign anywere.

He would still be in demand if fit sadly looks unlikely to ever get there again.

I remember watching a lot of hearts around his prime there he was not just good he was superb.

Interested if Redarmi has looked at this market....NBA Rookie of the Year 2014.

I watched a lot of the draft stuff, noone could decide who would go in what position, one of the most balanced drafts in a long while. Therefore there must be some value in backing someone to win Rookie of the Year. Last year I called it correctly, admittedly not for Fred but for the betting site I write for, and that was from keeping up with the reports on American sites (last year Lillard won, I backed him at 6/1 but the odds had been coming down after some stellar performances, and the fact it was obvious he'd be playing loads as his team were very short in his position) and he won at a canter. I think maybe I missed the best price by being trigger shy tho, so think we should banzai a couple who fit the bill.

Kelly Olynyk of Boston fits the bill to be a right Fred hero! He is about to start his first season after leaving Fred favourites Gonzaga, and is playing for Boston, who should finalise the deal to trade away their two stars, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, on Friday (which is why we backed their new team Brooklyn). Without those two Boston will be pretty bad, which is perfect for a rookie to get a lot of minutes and win the award.
He has started Summer League on fire, and while it's very very early, he's just been named top of the rookie ladder. NBA.com wrote this today: "At the top of the list so far -- by a long shot -- has been Boston's Kelly Olynyk, who has shown off a plethora of moves on his way to averaging 19.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in three games. He's been dominant offensively, knocking down outside shots while still holding his own inside with baby hooks, up-and-under moves and an ability to handle the ball."

Michael Carter-Williams was drafted by Philly, who also traded away their allstar point guard on draft day. That means they will be awful, and he'll have little competition for playing time in his position. He's averaged 15 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds in his 3 summer league games so far. I like him too, but Kelly is the real Fred fave banzai.

I'd like to reccy £25 on Kelly at 16/1 and £10 on MCW at 14/1 both with Sid James. These can be upped if Red or anyone else like the bets, but best to get on small for now. Also, only two companies are pricing this up at the mo, so diff for a mere mortal like me to work out how attractive they are.

Wanyama is an absolute beast and will be great signing for Southampton.

The role he plays as a holding midfield enforcer is pretty much out of fashion with the big clubs, more dynamic, technical players are used for the defensive minded midfield role.

Bet Victor paying 8 places on the Open, ew

http://www.oddschecker.com/golf/open-championship/winner

Muirfield, who or what are we looking for?

They seem to have dropped the odds to allow for this.  Paddy Power paying 7 with better odds than them on most.   Might have a look later, but am guessing Paddy's are better overall on most at the top.

thank you

As a general rule whichever mug like me spots the offers/enhanced terms etc should throw them up here and let the experts like Tal, sorry like Doobs/others, dissect them for value, please

I think it is still a good offer, just the other is likely slightly better.  It may well be better to spread bets over two bookies for account saving purposes?  This all assumes some people still have accounts where they can put a bet on there!

Am just messing about here, and need to get off soon.

Justin Rose at 20/1 with 8 places with BetVictor looks good to me.  Betfair is not much above 5/1 for 5 places, and we get 3 more in addition.  My old friend Jason Day is 33s with Power, so just over 8/1 on 7 places (Betfair is just short of 9/1 on 5 places).

Something like half max is £35 e/w.  I am not much of a golf expert, but looks like it must be value to me.
