Just shown a picture of Lord (William) Griffiths on the BBC at the golf with some rather unkempt eyebrows.
He is one of the few people around (perhaps even alone in the feat) to have been both President of the MCC and Captain of the R&A. He was also a Law Lord.
Yes, saw it, and made a note to Post about him in my Diary.
Extraordinary man.

Stephen Gallacher top Scot in a field of 10 is 6/1 11/2 and plenty 5/1 with 1/5 for 1,2,3 and has won on links before. Form decent.
Each way value with a real shot at winning

Not really to plan. If we make the cut we still have a decent position.

A good day which will be almost a great day if the cut stays at +7.

tennis bet is 2.2 on betfair too if that kind of bet flags up in accounts.
Hi Exstream,
Not sure what you mean by "flags up in accounts".
We are on at 6/5, which, as I'm sure you know, is the same as 2.2. Probably. I think.
What I meant was, isn't it an 'obscure' bet and obviously because Hector is such a genius, it's going to win and the bookmakers don't like 'obscure and winning bets' therefore isn't the exchange the best option to take in these circumstances?

Ahh, I see what you mean now.
No, it is not an obscure bet, you'd be astonished how much betting takes place on Tennis, it is a huge betting market, so a standard win single should be fine.
It's Dubai & Chompy we have to worry about, when they instruct us to wager £27 million on some coup they are cooking up.

Tell you what Sandy, we've had some mileage from this one. Bang out of order Paul Lawrie leading, he was well on the way home last night before being called back.
Anyway, all to play for tomorrow, we can get the lot or lose the lot, & we'll have had a terrific 4 day sweat.

Looking at The Open leaderboard after the 3rd round, I think there must be some value in Hunter Mahan or Adam Scott. Both priced 8/1. E/w 1/4 odds top 3 places.
-3 Lee Westwood (Eng)
-1 Hunter Mahan (US), Tiger Woods (US)
PAR Adam Scott (Aus)
+1 Angel Cabrera (Arg), Zach Johnson (US), Ryan Moore (US), Henrik Stenson (Swe)
+2 Phil Mickelson (US), Francesco Molinari (Ita)
+3 Sergio Garcia (Spa), Brandt Snedeker (US), Jamie Donaldson (Wal), Hideki Matsuyama (Jpn), Jason Day (Aus), Dustin Johnson (US), Miguel Angel Jimenez (Spa
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Open Golf Summary
The Field scoring weakened at the end such that the Cut was +8 for T70 and below
We had three missed cuts for -£60
Rose, Furyk and Watney
We had one player make the cut for -£15, we needed him to miss
Poulter
So going into the weekend -£75....
Still standing
Day +2 T20
Bradley +7 T60
Bubba Watson +1 T11
Donaldson +3 T24
Lawrie +8 T69
McDowell +4 t34
A Scott +1 T11
Bjorn +5 T39
Three in the top 20, we need seventh or above for a return per bet
A better situation than yesterday
Gallacher is 2/5 in the top Scot bet, 5 off Laird
Aside from Gallacher, looks like we will be getting behind Adam Scott tomorrow.
This is far from over.

Thanks Darren.
Will leave it to the experts, but worth noting we are already on Adam Scott @ 25/1.

Jamie Donaldson and Jason Day only have to get from 11th to 8th. A Jamie Donaldson 8th won't pay peanuts.

Yes, Fred has Donaldson at 125/1 and each way ¼ odds to 8 places.

We have one freebie from today's racing. I think we should definitely use it on the Open. We have Adam Scott already, so that leaves one runner at a "backable" price. So Hunter Mahan it is. He is 15/2 with Hills which is close enough to Betfair for me to think the bet isn't wasted. He has won 5 PGA's and was 4th in the US Open, so can't really be lacking in bottle.
We already have one 25/1 shot and a couple of chances for the places, so don't think we need any more outsiders either.
So free £25 bet on Hunter Mahan at 15/2 with Hills.
Let's win this and get the others in the top 8. Hopefully we have cause to sing Flower of Scotland earlier in the day too. Think I am an 8th Scottish, and used to be almost neighbours with Andy Murray, so it must be fine.

Good start for the darts bet Snowy gave us.
Currently 2-2, first to 10 legs. We have a 5.5 start.

See what you mean but surely because hector is so good, do his bets on betfair when possible so you're not taking money from ladbrokes!
