Walsall home to Notts Co.

Anyone tell me why they are 6/5 (generally)?  higher in some places...

Unbeaten, 2 wins out of 2, finished higher than County last season.  Notts Co lost both opening games.

I'd say £25 seem a good bet?

The price feels about right to me, why are we assuming it is wrong, please? Most bookies make it a 6/5 shot?

Figured it should be odds on with the starts they've both had?  Aware its early days, etc....however 6/6 for Walsall, and 0/6 from county.  County leaked 4 at the weekend. Over last season, Walsall finished above them last season.

Agreed, that all fits.

I don't actually know much about football, but my point, really, is that the bookies all know what you just stated, and still offered us 6/5. Did they all get it wrong?

Not against the bet, honest, just trying to apply what the Big Boys taught us.

didnt mean to argue my point in that manner, and I'm also still learning the big boy lesson. I guess, im trying to understand/ say is yes with that knowledge, why would it by 6/5 still?  or as per chompy..results are against opposite strength teams, so not reflective?

confidence though can counter some of that?

Your line and manner of argument was 100% fine, am just being Devils Advocate really.

I actually agree with the thrust of your view - why are they 6/5? But I also hold the view that all those bookies can't be far wrong, can they? Or not enough to give us a meaningful edge.

It's all good debate.

Did I misread? Tikay turns down a Walsall bet? Thought anything involving Walsall was auto placed? Smiley

Ok maybe I over-estimated their edge a little. I was in salesman mode Cheesy

I have previously suggested a 'brave' winner with Steven Finns unders (brag), an IPL semi final double (beat) & a wsop main event tip which was a no goer due to thread rules (+ve variance) ! Wink

Kane Williamson a big signing for YCCC going into the final 5 games of the season.

It's about time Sir Geoffery & co forked out a few quid on an overseas player to bring in some guaranteed runs, we can't keep relying on previously genuine 8/9/10 batsmen to bat 5/6/7 and get the scores on the board!

He's certainly 'won the max' with the wage budget the tight git although even if we go on to win the league he'll probably still think of it as 'losing the minimum'.

Basically forfeited the cb40 & T20 competitions, putting all the eggs in the 4day basket. Will be worth it if we can finish the job.

What? Yorkshire CC engage an OVERSEAS player? I thought they were strictly against that, they certainly used to be. We iz Yorkshire, 'innit?

As it happens, I am a firm believer in the Sir Geoffrey/Lord Wenger logic of looking after the Club's money properly. Bankrupt Clubs ain't much fun for anyone, even if they do win silverware. The money belongs to the Club, not the fans.

Anyway, I hope they do well, I really do. Yorkshire CC was one of THE great institutions back in the day, when Brian Close & F S Trueman were in their pomp. Freddie is upstairs now, but I believe Brian is still around.

Two GREAT YCC photos here.....

Anyone who cannot name THREE of the cricketers in those photos should be ashamed. There are at least two England captains there, to my certain knowledge.

Daily Report

Profit on Month £731.21

Outstanding Bets £3217.62

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=28

A profit of £30 yesterday. Doobs' four Newmarket horses on William Hill offers produced two winners and a second for a £40 win and a £25 free bet to be used. Solo Hunter for Neil Channing was narrowly touched off at Salisbury to deny another big win but give a small each way return

This was offset in last night's shock (in more ways than one, appalling standard of play with more knock ons than Jehovah's witnesses going door to door on a recruitment drive) Super League game where 12 man Widnes beat Warrington and Chris Bridges did not score a try, for -£20

In exciting news in baseball's AL East Tampa Bay beat Seattle 7-1 and Boston got turned over 2-1 by Toronto. This narrows the Red Sox lead to 2 games with 30 or so games of the regular season to go

With apologies to those who are bored by baseball updates on a daily basis, there are so many games! It's a sizeable bet too, and this is a heck of a close sweat.

In less good news Detroit beat the Royals 4-1 in the Central and our hopes of the play offs there are fading

Chris Stroud had a great start to the Wyndham in Greensboro which I think is in the Carolinas and one more good round today will have us excited for the weekend. he carded -6 to be joint overnight leader at 125-1 with Ross Fisher, the angular Brit

Much of yesterday was spent trying to convince someone that Chamakh could not win the Golden Boot. Think that one is unresolved. This season its personal

Mercifully, there were no utterances from Luis Suarez yesterday.

Solheim cup.

Top American.

Stacy Lewis is favourite. Good golfer terrible record. Tough first game. 1-3-0
Paula Creamer. Good golfer. Great record. 11-3-5
Cristie kerr. Not as good but good enough. Poorish Record. 11-12-3
Angela Stanford. Decent. Terrible record. 3-7-3
Morgan Pressel. Good golfer. Terrific record. 7-2-2

A few more also rans who in all probability won't be 5 match players.

Take out Stanford whose record is awful. Lewis could do anything. Kerr will hopefully only do ok if she splits from Creamer. Creamer is probably most likely to win this if our pick doesn't.

Pressel should get 5 games unless all players get a rest so she'll never be at a disadvantage. She does have an interesting 1st game v Matthew with both having a rookie to play with. However 9/1 each way 1/4 top 3 is a very good price in my mind. Creamer is 9/2 and there is no way Pressel is twice the price.

Pressel each way 9/1 top American.

Thanks Sandy, really like that, & will give us a tremendous sweat for the weekend.

I cannot get on right now, Oddschecker is down for scheduled maintenance, but once it gets back up, & I can check the prices, I'll get on.

If you know for sure that 9/1 is Best Price, let me know who is offering it, & I'll get straight on.

Perfect, I don't use "YouWin" but I'll get on with Coral or BV.

Thanks Sandy, we are on.

We took £25 EW (qtr, 1,2,3) but if any of our other golf experts or big hitters were to even slightly encourage me, I think I'd double that bet, but for now, lets not be too greedy.

We have £25 EW  @ 9/1 (qtr, 1,2,3), Corals, Morgan Pressel, Top American Golfer Lady, Solheim Cup.

Logic behind the bet is good, but not so sure I would write Stacey Lewis so easily on the back of such a small sample size of Solheim Cup experience, IMO. GL
