It's about time we got one of these major sweats across the line

49ers
MVG
Gina
et,etc
Cruel cruel cruel

We need someone to step out from the shadows, we need a new role model. We need a new hero dammit!!!

Think on team and sleep well....

You could add Barnet & Brighton to that list, but unless I am mistaken, although the bets lost, we managed to turn a profit on every one, by ducking & diving.

Our BB profit this time was down to a great exit strategy by Chompy. It did not fill me with pleasure, hope or anticipation to lump £220 on Sam a few weeks back, but once again the Fenland Legend knew what he was doing.

There is one major coup you omitted from the list though - Eso Wallsall. Not a huge amount, but "lest we forget", I need to keep reminding people. The man is a liability.

Jeez, Marky. I don't have a spreadsheet for the entire strip! Can't remember the entire sequence Cheesy Just essentially that the more expensive the hotel, the younger the servers.

Hadn't realised that about Caesar's. My views on valets/cocktail waitress attire are unchanged. I am unswervable on such matters.

Edit: I'm sure there will be a thread on Vegas valets somewhere on blonde Roll Eyes

Understandable, after all the Venazzo is only a small resort/cardroom after all Wink

I don't really like Caesars myself, but they do have some deece cocktail waitresses and the good old Strawberry Julius is a winner.

I have to contest the positions of the Nugget and Binions waitresses too, some are probably getting a free ride home on the bus granted, however, there are some gems amongst this (especially at the Nugget), and you can't complain too much about aesthetices when they are willing to serve up trays of Sambuca alongside a couple beers for $10!!

I'm out of my depth, here. Again. Anyone want to tag in?

What an absolute joy Man City are to watch when they are firing on all cylinders. They must be a bugger to play against when in the mood, though.

great to have pellegrini over here

What is his background, horsey?

Post match interview

"Great performance today Manuel, what did you make of that?"

"Thankyou" followed by standard answer.

I might be mistaken, but it is certainly the first time I can remember a manager thanking a questioner who praised his team.

David Silva playing for Manuel Pellegrini. This season might just be football heaven.

Glad you noticed that, very unusual.

I'm almost more interested in the Managers, & their character, than the players, & I watch & research them endlessly. I knew nothing of Pelligrini, so was watching him very closely.

For his official home debut last night, in the players tunnel, he walked very slowly, unphased, no theatrical gestures when entering the playing area, just a sort of shy acknowledgement of the whole scene.

During the game, watched it calmly, no De Canio or O'Neill style theatrical gestures, no Wenger or Pardew style hands on hips disapproving looks.

Beautifully cut suit, did not look at all Chilean (what DOES a Chilean look like?), seemed to have a degree of gravitas & dignity. When interviewed, that was confirmed.  No idea about his Managerial abilities, but I took a liking to him. Civil Engineer is a HUGE bonus, obv.

I don't really dislike any Teams or Managers, but I file them, in my mind, in little bullet point boxes, all of them.

Pelligrini. Oozes class. Civil Engineer.

SAF. Media tyrant & bully.

Moyes. Don't mess with him. I mean, really. Don't.

The Special One. Coolest dude in town.

Big Sam. Nothing is his fault.

Wenger. Changed British football for the better. Subtly humorous. HUGE shoulders. A force for good.

Lambert. Nice guy, looks like a boy allowed out for the day with grown ups. Will probably end badly for him.

Holloway. Lovable. Promoted beyond his point of competence.

Steve Bruce. Will never be a top Manager. Bad results? Easy. Spend money.

De Canio. A grenade with a loose pin. Could explode at any moment.

AVB. A strangely nervous man, given his trade. Terrible dress sense.

Pardew. Repeatedly pats & strokes players bottoms when he substitutes them. Did it again last night.

As to their Managerial abilities, that is a different slice of cake altogether. I just file them in those boxes.

I actually think I love you a bit. Not in a Pardew way, just man love.

Put a bet up, a season long bet, ANYTHING. Just so I can abuse you for 6 months.

Please.

Deal?

I'd love Holloway as England manager. We aren't going to win anything anyway so we might as well have a bloke who is going to be fighting for the cause, a quote a minute and be heading every chance from the touchline.

There you go, exactly that.

Love it when the Manager "heads" the ball in unison with his player.

'Arry did that a lot whenever QPR scored last season. Both times.

Was pretty sure tikay was fishing then for me to bite. He will have to save his pellet waggler for another day

Holloway. Lovable. Promoted beyond his point of competence.

Love this

Alan Parry made a rather presumptuous statement during the commentary

"Everybody loves Ian Holloway"

He also seemed to think he had managed Palace for the whole of last season

I think the Bengals bet is a good one, there maybe another good way of getting with them too.

Maybe 4 weeks ago Baltimore were around 25 or 26 to win the whole thing on the BF market but injuries at TE (Pitta a big loss here unless Dickson or Dallas Clark) can fill the gap and Jones turning up for camp unfit have seen them drift to around 30/32 now. Pittsburgh look a team in transition to me after losing Wallace, Heath Miller is out for a good few games too and they have stocked up with rb's that are all ok with their main hope of finding a really good one in Bell took a hit when he got another niggling injury in last night's pre season game. Both Pitts and Balti have lost some big defensive players, big as in iconic players for their franchise, not big as in 300 pounds of muscle ;o)

Pitts have drifted to around 36 on BF for the outright, Cincy have shortened to around 32/34 on BF for the reason Tighty explain re draft and the make up of the squad/team in general.

So taking the BF win outright prices the order in that Div at the moment ( I know it isn't an exact correlation) should be

Balti small fav
Cincy 2nd fav
Pitts 3rd fav
Cleveland outsiders

And this brings us really to a great example of when to bet because the fixed odds firms probably haven't even looked at their outright markets since they threw them together a few months ago

This is how Corals bet that Div and have done since it went up.
13/8 Pitts
11/5 Balti
23/10 Cincy
9/1 Cleveland

Every firm on oddschecker has Pitts as fav for the Div.

My gut feeling on the BF outright is that Cincy and Balti will go off the same or maybe Cinci will be one price behind Balti with Pitts around 2 prices behind them, maybe a bigger gap if the rb Bell is out/not fully fit for the start of the season. With Cincy you have the most stable team of the 3 main teams in the Div so if we are taking the 16/1 to win the Conf then the 23/10 to win the Div should be a bet too.

You mentioned having a stock of free bets to invest this week, obv there is lots of good racing coming up but this is prob the nut best week to 10 days to be taking advantage of the old NFL prices in a lot of fixed odds markets because the season starts in just over 2 weeks, so the firms will start looking at their markets again in around a week.

I don't want to throw money around. but we have such fun with these "season" bets, & NFL is so popular here, & has given us so much fun, so yes, I want to load up - to a point - on NFL before the Season starts, that gives us two good sports to take though the cold dark winter nights, Football & NFL.

I know this will make me look a clot, but I'm sure I'm not alone here - explain this please....

16/1 to win the Conf then the 23/10 to win the Div should be a bet too.

Division? Conference? The difference is?.......I can only think in English football terms.
