I just caught up on the golf and play was suspended last night, so it is a bit early for an update.  If you want to learn some new words it could be useful?

"Jason Day, Camilo Villegas and Kevin Stadler have gotten it to -5. "

I haven't gotten any horses for today yet, will have a look in a bit.

Cringeworthy.

Still, we have to keep up with the times, so gotten will be added to Fred terminology with immediate effect, alongside our other recent additions, poggered & spider.

Am pretty sure that the gentleman yesterday described as milkman, gardener & lazy plumber will contribute to this lexiconic odessey.

fred fav 'arry has just been on the wireless

in shock news he is "looking at getin a couple moar in" before the window shuts

in even less shocking news 'arry "tried to sign the lad Capoue" for qpr last season

and just to complete the 'arry bingo card he "always knew bale was a star"

that explains why he tried to sell him to forest twice then

triffic

Daily Report

Profit on Month £832.65

Outstanding Bets £2871.06

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=28

A profit of £72.55 yesterday brought about by two York Fillies, the exciting two year old Lucky Kristale and the four year old The Fugue who both won at 5/2 and gave profits of £125. Special Report was a small each way winner and these three horses were offset by several losers at Bath and York.

We are on six golfers at the Barclays and although play was curtailed during the first round, only one of the selections - Bill Haas - is currently over-par

We are going down to the wire with our Swann Ashes bet

GP Swann          9   25   28.64  2.95
JM Anderson       9   21   29.71  3.12
RJ Harris         7   20   19.35  2.90
SCJ Broad         9   18   31.16  3.19
PM Siddle         9   17   26.88  2.78

All being well we should hold off Anderson with only one bowling innings to come and the weather forecast for tomorrow terrible

Today is the crucial day to hold off Ryan Harris though

With the Warner and Clarke bets set to cost £110, the £24 at 11/2 on Swann is the difference between a profit on the series or not. So far, not the greatest game for us.

In County Cricket it was a frustrating day. Middlesex need another 270 to beat Derbyshire today, but the pitch is tricky, I gather
Yorkshire are dominating Notts and likely by close to be in a commanding position to win the LVCC1 so it could soon be the prospect of an each way return or nothing

In Division Two, Northants were warm favourites to beat Essex and go a long way to tie up promotion but light drizzle fell all day at Colchester, with play taking place at every other ground around the country. As I repeatedly say, over the course of a five month season you need a but of luck with weather on the crucial days where you are ahead in games when you can amass a lot of points, or not if it rains

On a day dominated by spiders and their betting patterns, we got a position on Bale, another one on safety cars, more on the Bengals.

Guillem Balague the Spanish football commentator who appears on Sky Sports La Liga, keeps saying that Bale is done in the next 48 hours, Ronaldo then goes to United, Rooney then goes to Chelsea and Benzema and Di Maria to Arsenal. Next week the first domino should fall in the transfer deadline, and we'll see if it pushes others down....

One for the fellow appleby fans.

Khajally 6.55  newc

Was owned by a small racing club who seemed to care little about the horse, only that it advertised their website and blog. Never seemed to have any aims and often ridden by ex trainers inexperienced and frankly, not very good kids.

Used to travel nicely into races but the poor assistance at the business end often ended in very little?

It has now moved to mike applebys yard who is getting a rep as one of those horse whisperer types.

He has had time to work his magic and i suspect may well be punted.

A little fiver ew at best early odds is probably worth a go if it gets any love from the gang-fingers crossed for a Chompy rebuff......the Roi on those is best on thread...!!

It's all noise & chatter at the mo, but just imagine if all that did happen.

The combined fees would be, I suppose, well north of £200 million.

I wonder how much the Agents & suchlike would get?

10%? 20%?

Eventually, this nonsense, whereby Agents actually prompt the deals (because it generates Agents fees) has to stop, all that money goes out of the game. The more I see the systems & "caps" in USA Sports, the more sense they seem to make. As it stands over here, Clubs which do NOT throw money around recklessly are penalised & ridiculed. How that can ever make an iota of sense or logic is beyond me. Bob Lord would turn in his grave.

The world has gone mad, but it will all end badly. It will.

Don't mind having a go at this Adzy, but you make no mention of the price I need to aim for. I have to have a guide price.

Currently seems around 9/1. Does that appeal?

I used to think Ballague was a brilliant insider journalist, but stuff like this is just balderdash. All of that just won't happen.
