Does anyone know anything about hurling?  I just got a call from a guy i like to talk bets with (not for information as he is even more recreational than i am) and he has been on holiday in Portugal.

Anyway apparently he met up with the Clare team who play Cork on Sunday, they havent beaten Cork for x amount of years (i have forgotten what he said) but they were certain they would win this time, currently best priced at 11/8 :

I didn't think to ask at the time if they were all getting pissed up for the past two weeks or it was a training camp, but i've just sent him a message to ask.  If they were all on a jolly doesn't seem like a good bet to me but he seems absolutely certain that these guys playing will, as they have been telling him, win.

Any thoughts on Scotland @ 3/4 against Belgium tonight?

Very good twitter account i follow who bets on a variety of markets, but seems to be hugely profitable at card betting suggested two anytime cards tonight in this game, whittaker at 7/2 and martin at 9/2.  Not recommends from me but if you were looking for a bet you could do worse.

Good fun sweating cards, in Smiley

I'd be pretty sure it was a training camp. They are not going to be going on a piss up a week before the All Ireland final (which is GAAs SuperBowl equivalent)!
Having said that, if he had met the Cork team at their training camp, I'm sure he'd have heard the same confidence from them. They might win but price is about right.

Cheers Daz, you're quite right, im sure all teams who play sports competitively will be high in confidence. I feel obliged to have a small bet due to his excitment and certainty that they are going to win, pretty ice cream like but there is something to be said for sweating stuff with your friends, even if you don't have an edge Smiley

Garswood is the Pricewise selection at Haydock tomorrow.

Think it could start at an ell oh ell price like 5/2 or 11/4.

Took that from Twitter, not confirmed yet - but market move at exactly 8pm suggests it's true.

I'm a die hard Cork fan, but that doesn't mean they're going to win on Sunday.  Both teams have played really well up to now and if they play as well on Sunday, there will only be a couple of points in it when the final whistle blows.

Cork had a massive run during the semi-finals against some very tough teams.  They played an absolute blinder and they also have experience on their side.

Meanwhile, Clare had it a bit easier and was given far too much room by Limerick in the semis.  Cork won't make that same mistake.  Clare's team is very young.  Some would say that means they're inexperienced, but these Lads won the All Ireland Under 21's in 2009 and 2012.  They know what they're doing and they're doing it well.  Young and confident with the skill to back it is a dangerous combo during a hurling final for any opposition.

Horgan is Cork's main points scorer (30% of all scores) and Ryan is Clare's (40% of all scores).  A lot will come down to those two Lads and how they play on the day.

Long story short...as much as I'd love to say Cork have this in the bag, Clare's got a lot going for them too and I'm calling it a coin flip.  Regardless of who wins, it'll be one hell of a match!

Cork have already beaten Clare in the Munster semi final and then overcame the hot favourites Kilkenny in the Qtrs of the all Ireland, Kilkenny have won 6 of the last 7 years, according to my cousins they played then off the park. Rightly so Cork are favs to win, that being said Clare seem to have a great young squad and can easily avenge the defeat suffered earlier in the season. There is no value in the prices but as a pure punt Clare will give u a sweat at the very least.

This forum is amazing, such a huge knowledge base and a love for all sorts of different sports far from mainstream.  Thank you to both of you.

Bokked. 1-1.

Anyone watching?

Keane was taken out by the keeper for a clear penalty and a red card for the keeper but play was allowed to go on and Keane got back up and scored. Would have preferred the pen and them to have 10 men!

As it is, Ireland look a little shook and I think Dunne has been brought back in too early after a huge layoff. Whelan has been anonymous too.

Their goal was well taken but we really don't look like our rock self atm and think that has something to do with Dunne.

Upon replay Dunne really was slow to react to Elmander for the goal. We were solid against Sweden at their gaff with Clark at cb, with Dunne we look shaky.
