Evening

The alarm is set for 3.45am, although I doubt I shall sleep. Melbourne Cup at last.

Probably going to be a monumental anti climax, and after I saw the draw Mt Athos got, I drew stumps on my daily punt on him.

After the results of the last few weeks in Oz and USA, even the biggest sceptic has to be optimistic about the British horses chances. Wont put you off anything else, and at one time or another I am sure I have backed half the field, but tonight, both feet, hands, large belly, the lot, are all in the Luca camp.

COME ON MT ATHOS!!!!!

Over in La Liga both our selections look set for a strong season, Horsey has picked a couple of cracking underdogs and we just need Athletico Madrid to stop playing so well.

A La Liga update, tonight Villarreal are away to promoted side Elche, Bilbao were in action yesterday losing 2-0 at Athletico Madrid.

Our bet is Villareal and Bilbao w/o the big 2 and after 12 games the table looks like this:

Barcelona    34
Ath Madrid   33
Real Madrid  28
Villareall   20 (played 11)
Bilbao       20

Next Sunday there's a big game for us that's live on Sky as Villarreal host Athletico Madrid, the yellow submarine will be looking to get back to their free scoring ways against the other team in Madrid who look very formidable right now.

thanks for doing that

Time for me to admit A Madrid are not stopping though, they are now a side who believe they will win every week after being a side for years who flattered

Quite how Simeone did not make even the 30 man shortlist for the manager of the year is a mystery

There was no change to the monthly numbers yesterday

Updating the progress on the Quarterbacks bet

After Week 9

1   Peyton Manning, QB   DEN   2,919
2   Drew Brees, QB NO   2,672
3   Matthew Stafford, QB DET 2,617
4   Andy Dalton, QB CIN 2,587
5   Tony Romo, QB DAL 2,553
6   Philip Rivers, QB SD   2,473
7   Matt Ryan, QB   ATL   2,442

Our positions are:

Brees £80 e/w 3/1
Stafford £50 e/w 6/1
Ryan £33 e/w 10/1

all top 4 e/w

The top 4 in the league currently have all had their bye, Romo and Dalton haven't
Ryan is falling away due to the offensive problems in Atlanta

We look to have a very decent chance of two each way retuns at least on Brees and Stafford

Golf Bet

Amazed at how weak the field for the Australian PGA Championship is.

Adam Scott is far and away the best player in this field and hasn't played this event very often, and it is missing from his resume. Tiger used to go off 6/4ish against the best in the world. This looks far better.

I am loathe to back favourites at any time, but I just cant let this one pass me by.

£20 Adam Scott @10/3 Betfred

Thanks Adzy.

Interesting Market, I agree, Sneddy & Ricky excepted, looks a weak field.

0/30 looks awfully tight, but can't disagree that he should be in good shape here.

Incidentally, BWin go 7/2, only a tad better, but we went that route.

BET PLACED
