Wm Hill sent this to me overnight......
Dear Tony,
We’re 2/1 Paul Nicholls trains 2 or more winners on Channel 4 tomorrow!
Paul Nicholls is having a fantastic season so far and has a strong team of six horses running on Channel 4 at Ascot and Haydock. Ptit Zig is favourite for the Champion Hurdle Trial at Haydock and Grandioso and Bury Parade both run in the 3:00 at Ascot.
Will the 7-time Champion Trainer have 2 or more Channel 4 winners?
Nichols has these (qualifying) runners, & I've used Wm Hills prics as the guide.....
14.25 Ascot, Irish Saint, 8/1
14.40 Haydock, Ptit Zig, 10/11
3.00 Ascot, Grandioso, 7/1
3.00 Ascot, Bury Parade, 8/1
15.15 Haydock, The Minack, 10/1
3.35 Ascot, Kauto Stone, 16/1
I can't quite figure the maths of this, but instinctively, it looks a bad bet.
Can someone explain the logic to me?
Incidentally, Ascot will be really testing today, the whole surrounding area is flooded.

Nice one, Mr Kimber.
Tikay, you need a new milliner
milliner?
Not seen that word in many a year. Was pretty sure it referred to women's hats.......
Pardon me a geeky hat diversion, but that hat has two labels inside it. One says "Made in China", the other says "woven from finest English wool". So they export the wool to China, make a hat from it, then ship it back to England?
Lordy Lordy......
I never knew it was gender specific. Seems now to be women, men and children in some quarters, but you're definitely correct, so I doff my hat to you.
In 1896, James Boyle, in an attempt to remove the drudgery of continually lifting his hat, registered a patent for a form of self-doffing device. When the wearer bowed to an acquaintance, the hat lifted itself, rotated once and lowered again. The hats didn't catch on.
http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/doff-your-hat.html
I want one!
Don't see people doffing their hats much these days, either, especially at Football Matches.

I was thinking that must be close but you have a typo on The Miniak's price.

Only a minor typo - I said it was 10/11, in fact it is 10/1......
Apols, amended now.

I have a Six Nations bet which may interest a few people. It has historical merit but is a leap of faith.
Since the Amateur era ended circa 1993 there have been four Lions tours and the following year France has won the Six Nations. Not only that, they have won the Grand Slam on three of those four occasions.
I think there's probably a few reasons for this the main one being the bond formed by players on the tour with guys they would normally oppose on the pitch is still quite strong. Perhaps the intensity isn't there? Perhaps the French players have an edge they don't have in other years. The fact is France have done very well immediately after a Lions Tour.
You can get 11/4 them winning the title and 7/1 a Grand Slam with a variety of people.
I have had some money on both and will be looking to get with France every game. Maybe Hector and Tighty would like to comment on the above but it is all factual no matter how strange it may sound.
I think Fred if he decides to get on should have £75 on the Championship and £25 on the Grand Slam.
Thanks.
For now, & to give us time to debate both bets further, we have had £30 @ 14/5, France to win 6 Nations, with the nice chap at Sporting Bet. Not sure, but I think it commences two weeks today.

Think we are now up to date, remind me if I have missed anything please.
Not looking forward to today's Daily Report, looks pretty grim to me, think we drew a complete blank yesterday.
Time to get back on track.

Ooh, good luck lads.
That was the claypole spot, right? I had to swerve that, my Account is in bits already, best not provoke them further.
A very odd pricing rick that, it seemed to me.

Amen to that. And we don't have to troop round 23 Shops, either.
Reminder to all, though, you MUST place these bets via Mobile. Mobile device, that is, not Peter.

Daily Report
Loss on Month £226.12
Outstanding Bets £2837.37
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=34
Four bets yesterday, four losers as the thread returned to activity with a whimper
Northampton beat Castres 13-3 in an attritional game where Northampton were concerned first and foremost with getting a win to maintain their slim hopes of progression to the quarter finals. There was one try, and George North did not score it. With overs never coming close there was a loss of £52 on the game
In Adelaide a double whammy as in a low scoring game there was never any prospect of over 10 sixes being scored, and furthermore our series batsman bet Hales, continued his poor form of now 12 months duration in scoring only 3
So a loss of £82 on the day.
A busy Saturday awaits, time to claw some back*
* Possibly.
Sam Allardyce is still West Ham Manager. Newcastle to win today please

Skybet doing money back if Un Temps Pour Tout wins. Not for Fred, obv but might interest a few.
Can this work in harmony with the hills offer?

Cheers Horsey.
Quick question to Sonour and anyone else like Doobs, Camel etc. who understands the Ladbrokes promotion.
If you haven't got £2k spare to bet 80 odd markets and I can't be the only one in that boat surely, what markets should I be looking to exploit?
I'm thinking 1-0 - 5-0 Chelsea, 1-0 and 2-0 Man Utd and first goalscorer bets. Is there any others I should definitely be on?
Thanks in advance for any answers.
Morning. You basically want to be on selections where the Ladbrokes price is as close as possible to the Betfair price. This, in theory, minimises the EV you are sacrificing by betting in an overround market. The offer should theoretically kick in around 50% of the time you have a losing bet, comfortably erasing the small piece of value pie you have to Lads by having the bet itself.
If picking and choosing be biased in favour of selections that don't involve both teams scoring for obvious reasons. If you get through those the next tranche is the goals markets, where you should play the unders.
@Keith.... Maybe, though I know the cashier in the shop, had a lengthy discussion with he and colleague before playing, and the bets went through after both management and security called the shop. They obviously realise they have dropped a massive bollard, but not sure they can really do much if one plays so 'considerately' within their terms.
Apparently if the free bet kicks in, when you hand in your losing slip the free bet slip is printed automatically so I think the only way you won't get your free bets is if the cashier or manager decide not to give them to you.
So if you are going to do a lot of bets in one shop I think you need to clear it with the manager before hand.
My local shop have really encouraged me to do this and are all very excited about it and rooting for both teams to score !
( It is a very quiet shop )
