I actually think the opposite.

Theoretically best use of the free bets is an 8 runner race with no edge where all runners are 7/1 and you can use 8 x £25 free bets backing them all. Guaranteed to get back £175 and reduces variance.

So I would bet both Moreno and Ball if I liked the prices, and I do at 9/1 and 20/1.

If a 20/1 bet beats or matches Betfair it is better than a 10/1 chance that beats or matches Betfair in the very long run.

The problem with a lot of 20/1 chances on things like horse racing is that you can get 25/1+ on Betfair.  With a lot of 7/1 or 10/1 chances the best prices are usually closer to Betfair.   Of course, this isn't always the case, and Betfair don't even have a market on first touchdown that I can see.
