I think i have found an Value bet at 2/1 @ Willie Hills. Tip off at 8.30pm GMT.

Carmelo Anthony of NY Knicks scored a record 62 for his team in their last game . His team face the lame LA Lakers [ who concede 110+ points nearly every game ]

ANTHONY TO SCORE 30 OR MORE AND NY TO WIN @ 2/1 . looks nailed on.

Need Jaffa or other Blondes to confirm this is Value?

Wow, amazing struff, Rubbish, thank you very much.

How much time did it take you to research, find the photos, & write all that up?

I knew the Post was coming, as we exchanged notes, but that was way beyond expectations.

Loved the MereNovice entry, you got him bang to rights there. The Taylor Effect AND the Wayne Mardle thing mean Dubai gets the only double entry, quite right too. In fact, I best not name any more, they are all insightful & just too good.

Thank you very much. One of the best Fred posts ever.

Great post Rubbish.

Not only was picture taken when I was drinking, but also when I went deep in the WSOP main event thanks to a donation from a another Fred regular. It's so old I'm surprised there were colour photographs!

Not for Fred but I have a chess bet where Sky is slow.

The candidates tournament is in March. The last major comp before it is the Wijk aan Zee tournament that is just coming to an end. Lev Aronian is destroying the field, with 8/10 and one round to come. He's already won the tournament by a distance. Only Anand (who has seemed broken) and Kramnik (the main contender) are missing.

The real point is Aronian is favourite for the Candidates and was 3/1 before the start of the Wijk comp and 5/2 the other day.

He's now 6/4 with Marathon and Unibet (the two I can find offering prices so far on the Candidates) BUT skybet still go 5/2.

I don't fancy Aronian much at 6/4, but he can't be both 6/4 and 5/2 and he's in superb form right now.

Just letting Fred know anyway.

This was great fun last year, the Candidates thing, where you Posted all those weird League Table things every day, & we got home with a bit to spare, iirc?

Melbourne Stars are playing Perth Scorchers in the early hours of the morning.

Stars have won every game so far, this is the last game of the group stages. Scorchers need to win to secure a home semi final, anyway I'm drifting away from my bet.

Mohammed Hafeez has been drafted in by the Stars as a replacement for Lasith Malinga. He is a top quality all rounder and I'd expect him to bat in the top 4. Prices have been released by most firms and triple 8 who have put out a crazy price of 8/1.

£30 on Hafeez @ 8/1 to top score and see if we can get out of the January red.

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/t20-big-bash/melbourne-stars-v-perth-scorchers/top-melbourne-stars-batsman

He is also too big @ 14's for MOM, he bowls aswell as batting. £10 on that too.

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/t20-big-bash/melbourne-stars-v-perth-scorchers/man-of-the-match

Crikey, those prices are a mile out of line!

Unfortunately, I don't bet with 888 (they won't take bets from me), or Unibet, who I refuse to deal with, as they lifted my leg when I opened my Account.

Tremendous spot, though, & everyone should take note.

I know little of the sport, but straight after a record seems the worst time to take a price on something like this.

I have had a quick look at his stats and he averages less than 30, so most probably scores over 30 in less than half his games.  New York are 4/9 to win, and guess he is 40% to get 30.  Think that makes 2/1 about right or skinny.  I am on the phone so can't be absolutely sure on this.

Think it is likely a swerve, but welcome other comments.

Great gallery rubbish.  Really exceptional.

Edit.  Just thinking more, for it to be value, New York must have to win something like 90% of the time he scores 30, and that looks unlikely.  I haven't got a stat database with me.

Yes, it was a crazy ending, where Carlsen lost his last two games but still somehow held on to win the tournament.

As Fred himself isn't on, I shalln't repeat the gesture with the daily updates. Well, I will, but not on here, as people don't want that kind of thing and I'm always one to listen to feedback.

Rest assured it will be on Chess Thread: its rightful place.

Golf Banzai Time

Torrey Pines is likely to be very hard going with a bit more breeze than yesterday.  It is a course where you can come from off the pace to win or place as the leaders falter.

I like the chances of two players who seem to go for it on the final round rather than look to ladder up a few places.  Kevin Chappell and Ian Poulter are both 100-1 shots (several places) and must be worth £5ew.

Ridiculous! But with Birthday Vibes in full swing, we are on. Sadly, I'm working tonight, so I might just miss the greatest sweat ever ever ever. Possibly.

Ignore the jibes, keep sticking stuff on Fred. Your Fred posts are the bicarb of soda in the cake mix, it may not seem important, but it makes all the difference.

Happy Birthday Fred. The perfect celebration provided by Mr Rubbish- TYVM.

Is it just me  or does it seem like it's been around for far more than 2 years?

Who would have thunk that a thread started by Fabrice would have been such a triumph!

Stop being such a drama queen.

Banter is the essence of this place, and you take yours well.

I woke this morning to recall I even backed one of your suggestions last night, which means I will have to read your bloody updates now.

Looks like Feb won't be any better for me now.....
