One for Tighty to peruse and other experts.

£10ew Sergio Perez to win Australian GP with the bald guy that shares a name with the nickname for this thread. 50/1 EW terms 1/5 1-2-3.

We are effectively getting 10/1 the podium and I think that the Force India car, which seems reliable and has a Mercedes engine, is a lot better than people think with good lap times being shown in testing and it doesnt seem to fail that much! Plus Perez tends to do well in Australia from memory and clearly likes the track.

Really looking forward to the Madrid derby starting at 4pm our time.

As ever there is a bit of value in the to be shown a card market after some digging.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/spain/la-liga-primera/atletico-madrid-v-real-madrid/to-be-shown-a-card

The standout for me is Mata Mario Suarez for Atheltico Madrid at 7/2 with victor.

7 bookings in 14 appearances this season including 2 in his last 2 games since returning from a longish injury (possibly still a bit rusty).

The referee is more than card happy and generally hits at least 6/7 yellows a game (Ladbrokes are 33/20 a red which is fair as well).

The other one that makes some appeal is Kasmirski Filipe Luis at 17/10 with 888 not for thread then but should be around evens considering he gets a yellow from left back nearly 1 in 2 league games and has been booked by todays official 3 of his last 4 games.

SUGGEST £30 Mata Mario Suarez 7/2 victor to be shown a card.

I was close so suggesting a bet on Real before he slight drift to 2.35

I know it is cutting it fine but the Palace team selection is good imo and 4/1 is worth a bet of at least £20. 5.3 is available of betfair, that better after commission?

Pinnnnacle go 5.37

Think it is worth a pop.

The Palace team suggests we are trying the tried and tested Dikagcoi and Jedinak as sitting midfielders, playing Ledley and Bolasie on the wings, Ince as the inside forward and Chamakh the out and out striker. Ince could be the out and out striker with Chamakh dropping in though, it doesn't really matter as both are good either way.

Actually looks much more like the team that beat WBA 3-1 at home, and despite Dann still starting, I am happy Ledley isn't playing in defensive midfield. Well it at least looks that way pre game.

I'm not quite at the point where I can recommend a particular one, but might as well put up the product of my research. Adz and others might want to skip this post. Seriously. It isn't manly.

The Oscars are as important for what happens outside the show as for what happens inside. Style is absolutely everything. "Who are you wearing?" is cried and bellowed by the myriad snappers and paps that thrust themselves against the hoardings lining the red carpet.

Patrick Parr has a market I like: Who will make Best Actress's dress?

Let's start with an assumption: it's Cate Blanchett. She's 1/16. It's not

Awards season is jam packed with red (and blue) carpet appearances and the stars not directly affiliated to couturiers will likely be seen wearing a variety of Houses' works over the weeks.

In the last few weeks, Blanchett has worn:

Roksana Ilincic
Givenchy
Armani (at an Armani bash, granted, but also at the Golden Globes)
Valentino
Lanvin
Alexander McQueen (at the BAFTAs)
Prada
Gucci
Maison Martin Margiela

You get the idea...

http://www.oddschecker.com/awards/oscars/best-actress-dress-designer

She has also accessorised recently with Gucci (none of the other contenders have had handbags or shoes on her; those were all from other designers not on the bookies' list) and I wonder whether that's what's meant the price had come in a bit on that.

I think we can definitely discount McQueen (obvious English choice at the BAFTAs) and Armani (she wore two at the Armani do the other day and she won Best Dress at the Golden Globes for a stunning Armani gothic piece). That knocks out a good chunk of the price. We should be able to throw a dart or two reasonably confidently.

Lanvin caused a bit of a stir the other week when four of the top stars rocked up in pieces (including rivals Blanchett and Sandra Bullock). The extra tabloid inches for that suggest she won't have another Lanvin dress tonight.

She wore a Balenciaga dress to the premiere of Blue Jasmine last summer, which caused a huge stir, as it was a replica of a famous 1967 dress. Would she really wear the same House to the big show? It's a very bold label and I'm not convinced you want to go in there looking like poor Tilda Swindon did when she won. Cate had that criticism at the Deauville premiere of Blue Jasmine in Dior. It didn't work and she got some stick. No chance she's in Dior tonigh IMO. She also took some stick for her silver Prada dress at the Nominations do, which she chose to wear without the sweater that was used to soften it on the catwalk. Again, once bitten and all that.

Givenchy is a fair favourite IMO. You want long, elegant dresses and, this season, bright, powerful colours (the Fashion Weeks were packed with blues and fuchsias; vibrant colours). I'm struggling to commit to it as a recommend because it's 2/1 and there are a lot of assumptions to get me there.

Thought I'd share what I have done anyway. For anyone who's betting on coloursc black was sooooooo last year. Go with blues and fuschias and other bright colours.

Right, I'm off to eat a Yorkie bar, drink some milk from the carton and belch loudly.

Also, if Neil has put up a different dress for this market on Betting Emporium, apologies. Go with him. I haven't gotten round to reading his article yet (sorry! I will, though. Promise!)

It's a sorry state of affairs in the betting industry when I thought about that market and concluded that it would be considerably easier to find out what dress she would be wearing than it would be to get £100 on with Paddy Power.

Cheesy

I'm comfortable with my sexuality. Plus, I did warn you!

I can't imagine it's a market that takes much money.

Cate Blanchett enters Sydney Airport with a smile as she and her husband Andrew Upton prep for their departing flight on Thursday (February 27) in Sydney, Australia.

The 44-year-old Oscar nominee had with her a large garment bag from Gucci – could it be her Oscars dress!?
