Keeping the theme of unfathomable betting markets, rumours are circulating that the BBC will shortly be cutting one of its TV channels in a bid to save money. Which one will go? The red bookie with the shouty man has a market ready:

BBC THREE: 4/11
BBC FOUR: 2/1
BBC Parliament: 20/1
BBC News: 33/1
BBC TWO: 50/1
BBC ONE: 100/1

Firstly, lol at the bottom one only being 100/1. More chance of a merger with ITV than them dropping BBC1.

Any other views? Merger between BBC2 and BBC4 to get more educational and intellectual stuff on the main channels? BBC3 is aimed at the teenage and young adult market and has been resposible for starting a number of successful shows (Little Britain probably the most famous). I can't imagine News and Parliament cost enough (against what they are designed to do) to make scrapping them worthwhile.

Not a recommend. Just amused me that there's a market!

I also note that same red bookie with the shouty man has put a market up for the Candidates Chess tournament. Aronian 5/4. Kramnik 13/5. Wouldn't be rushing to the shops for those prices.

I am mightily glad that girly dress bet didn't win.

Hopefully that should prevent a repeat on which colour sparkly Hayley dress in DOI final,Tal

You may be ok with your Kenny Everett alter ego, but I find the whole thing most, most disturbing.

What with that and Horsey's penchant for mens bit, this forum is taking a turn.....

Possibly one to check the smallprint on but surely there are only three runners.  It would make no sense from a branding perspective to have BBC1,2 and 4 so even if they effectively scrapped BBC3 surely they would transfer the prgramming from 4 to 3 and in name scrap 4?  On that basis News and Parliament would be runners but they are very much public service and tie in somewhat with all the overseas stuff which is fairly profitable for the beeb I think.  They are always going to have to provide news output for the radio stations and news programmes on the main channels so the cost of them is only marginal.  Surely BBC Four is great value at 2/1?  Think, assuming there will be one cut I would be at least the other way around in the betting.....

Think it is Rubbish whose photo galleries keep seeing jokes about men's bits pop up, as it were.

Never catch me watching DOI, Adz. Leave that to the ITV crowd.

yeah had a look - it is.

They say it is void though if the charge is changed, but obv that applies to both sides of the bet.

I could have sworn that they opened up 2/5 not guilty, 7/4 guilty four or five days ago.

That's a big turnaround especially given the crazy offer.

v unlikely to be less than last time in my opinion. these days there are police all over the place inside the festival and walking the campsites. also lots people arrested last year for smoking weed where in previous years this never happened. also last time there were road blocks at roads approaching festival with sniffer dogs etc.

anyway, was not really a recommend to take seriously, just pointing out another of paddypowers somewhat strange markets.

anyone know what the scoring system for dancing on ice final is?  viewers vote/panel vote?  Views on the current prices given Ray being in the vote off last night?  My personal view is that surely rays supporters will come out to vote after the shock of him being in the pllay off this week and that 1/3 Ray looks reasonably big and an over reaction to last night

Pretty sure the judges scores have no influence in the final. Top 2 will skate to Bolero. Your right Ray will def get a bounce from this week, probably the best thing that could happen to him as he was always going to be saved by the judges and it will give his fans a wake up call. That being said I wouldn't be rushing to take 1/3. Your assuming his fan base is bigger than the girls. Yes he is popular but Beth is getting votes because the judges are against her and the public always like sticking two fingers up at the pros. Hayley's fan base is relatively big and her partner - Dan is a very popular skater with a fan base all of his own ( same amount of twitter followers as Ray) As well as this Hayley and Dan should be doing Jai Ho in the final which will boost their votes and a lot of activity on twitter suggests their fans vote numerous numerous numerous (yes that many) times. Also I think it's the first time Ray was not top of the leader board and he finished in the bottom two. It seems Beth might be getting more votes than anyone as she has generally been near the bottom by the judges the last few weeks but not in the skate off.

Taking all that into consideration any one of the final three can win it. If there was any justice Ray would win for being the best but Chris Fountain was just as good a skater and he never won. As well as this Ray has always been a great skater, where the girls have got better each week and shown a big improvement.

No, real justice would be Hayley winning so that I can record my first TFT winning bet. Good luck if you lump on Ray - he does deserve it. But I couldn't put anyone off any of them, I even took abit of the 10-1 pp had on Beth last night.

Ray has been friendless today on bf out to around 4/9 and they are asking for 'unders' on the two birds who are 5/1 hills and 10/1 lads people asking for unders on the machine.  Anyone with more knowledge of the situation than me might find the 'right' one to be on at the prices.
