Halfway point of the JLD fight and so far so good.  It's been a shutout for JLD so far and he seems happy controlling things at distance without getting too involved and Dawson hasn't been in any trouble at all so far.  Only danger is Dawson's tank emptying.

Could do with Dickinson taking a breather and just cruising to the final bell Cheesy

Three rounds to go and JLD cruising.  Dawson starting to look very tired though and showed some signs of distress in the last round.

Dawson's tank empties completely and he gets stopped in the 10th.

Great shout though Baz, and unlucky.

Good shop that one btw. Laid me two £200 bets without even a PTL.

Just have to open the door in most London shops and they are on the bleedin' phone.

They now have £400 they didn't have before.

A small quiet Ladbrokes shop laid me £400 ( not all for me ) at 25/1 without PTL today. No idea why. The trading principals for that shop say anything over £50 over 3/1 with early prices require PTL.

The cashier said ' is that definite '
I thought she meant did I definitely want the bet
I said ' yes please '

She took the bet and gave me the slip back

She said ' it's definitely going to win ? '
I said ' no, it's a 25/1 shot '
Her ' so you just fancy it ? '
Me ' yes '
Her ' you're putting £400 on something you just fancy ?
Now I really don't want this conversation. I'm very busy and I really need to stay under the radar.
Me ' yes basically '
Her ' have you had a tip ? '
Me ' no '
Her ' ah, I know you follow this horse and have bet on it before ? '
Me ' no '
Her ' shall I back it ? '
Me ' why don't you have a pound on it '
Her ' ok, good luck '
Me ' good luck, bye '
Phew

I had an almost identical conversation in a small Ladbrokes in Birmingham a few weeks ago over a £20 bet on a dog.

Must be the same shop Cheesy

Going back to the JPT final. Ladybrokes have Danny Swanson 18/1 first goal scorer. We have limited strikers available. He may even start up top. This is an obscene price in my opinion. Would suggest. £20. Unless someone knows something?

Fergie loves having two strikers but I hope he resists this time and plays 4-4-1-1 with Swanny behind Britt. Please please please don't start Vassell!

No doubt Swanson is the value in the scorer markets again. Was gonna put him up tomorrow, but we're already on Poshies @ 11-1 to win the whole shebang and I'm just shutting my eyes and crossing my fingers tomo afternoon.

Much prefer 6-1 any time over 18-1 to score first. We were on last season at 7-1 any time and 25-1 first v Charlton, when he binked (lucky tbh, as Lawrie Wilson hit the bar for them as they owned us hard in the opening minutes), and the layers continue to underestimate him.

He's been our best player since Fatty left to join the Smoggies and Wembley will be ideal for him, picking up the ball and running at League 2 types. Think 6-1 is a cracking bet. Probably the best bet since the clocks went forward.

BOOM! Very good.

Tighty has his line now, Best Bet Of BST.

The 6/1, inevitably, during the short drive home from the Office, has now all gone, Lads down to 9/2, but I can still get 5/1 with Wm Hill.

£10 FGS @ 18/1, & maybe £25 or whatever @ 5/1 AnyTime for Glenn? Proper Glenn, not the grumpy old bloke, obv.

TO CLARIFY PLEASE

What has been placed here?

£10 FGS, anything else?

Phew Doobs, thats good news for our sweats

Think so, we could definitely do with Newcastle getting something against Southampton too.

Current projected handicap positions before Villa vs Stoke result.
1 Liverpool 102
2 Everton 98
3 Newcastle 91.3
4 Southampton 91.2
5 Hull 90.8
6 Arsenal 90.5
7 Spurs 89
8 Stoke 87
9 Man C 87
10 Palace 86
...
15 Cardiff 78

It is all very close from 3rd to 10th, and think we are paid on top 4 for Hull and top 3 for Palace and Newcastle.

Well, crap week for Newcastle and Hull.

1 Liverpool 103
2 Everton 99
3 Southampton 93
4 Stoke 92
5. Arsenal 89
6. Palace 89
7. Spurs 89
8. Hull 88
9. Newcastle 87
10. Man City 87

Rest nowhere.

Gareth "I'm definitely coming back to spurs in the summer" Bale scored a goal tonight.

Shortly afterwards, he scored a proper goal. If anyone can post it, it's a belter.

Hall v Ward stopped on a cut due to an accidental head clash in the 2nd round so it's a technical draw.  We run bad.

Nice to see Jordy scooting up the leaderboard in Texas. All good for The Masters.

Not sure if doing well is what the new non results orientated Fred is all about though, perhaps I should be hoping he does badly.....

Daily Report

Loss on Month £1204.22

Outstanding Bets £4016.02

Free bets to use ONE WILLIAM HILL by 5th April

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=22

Look away now if you are squeamish. This is not pretty

A loss of £304 on Saturday

A few winners in the red sea

- Stoke beating Hull for £72

- Sterling City at Meydan for £69

- Hamilton on pole for £30

Thats it

Deep breath here we go

Four ante post losers were taken

- Cardiff on the handicap -£40. With six games remaining they cannot catch the current 4th on the handicap

- Southampton to go down -£30, has been an eyesore on the spreadsheet for eight months

- Reading to win the Championship -£20

- Portsmouth to win League two -£40

Elsewhere

£100 of losses on the boxing, both a bit unluckily it seems
£15 no rugby league drop goal
£25 Aston Villa, took the lead and then....
Just under £200 of losses on the horses, with one winner from eleven selections (and one free bet for cavalryman in second)

Not meaning to be controversial, or results orientated, or to offend anyone, but the horse betting yesterday just looked odd. I was on the way to Burnley so unable to post at the time but its

- a) very early in the flat season, where form is notoriously difficult (iirc) and fitness has to be taken as read
- b) most of the bets at Meydan where there are very competitive fields, a lot of the form is from 6-9 months ago and we're backing short-priced horses on maths bets.

and yet we had the biggest horse volume for many a weekend. William Hill offer a lot of races with the concession (funny that) and lo and behold the day is characterised by outsiders coming in with the Dubai World Cup itself on by a horse outclassed by many of its rivals last year

The complexities of early season form seemed at odds with the maths attractions to me. There that is off my chest now.

So moving on to longer term bets

- Arsenal's draw against Man City keeps faint hopes of the top three alive but overall is probably bad news as it opens the door for Lverpool, who we have laid for a liability of £195. It never rains...Latest Premier League title odds: Man City 8/11. Liverpool 23/10. Chelsea 6/1. Arsenal 80/1

- Bad handicap results for Newcastle and Hull

- Hull losing and Palace winning was bad news for the top promoted team bet

- Crystal Palace winning good for handicap, outside chance of good for top half, bad for finish bottom. That was Mourinho's first league defeat, as a manager, anywhere, to a promoted side

- Rodriguez two goals means 15 for the season and he is now joint 4th in the standings with Rooney. We have £5 e/w at 200-1 top 4...chances!!

- In the Championship, we can put the Leicester bet champagne on ice. they now need 7 points to go up.

- Nugent scored to go to 18 for the season, but of more import was Vokes' knee injury that saw him off after 5 minutes. terrible timing for us...and McCormack scored again

- Watford's win at Sheff Wed was a big one, up to 11th and 3 points above the bottom half

- Barnsley's second win in a row keeps faint hopes of the top half alive

- Tranmere drew 0-0 and remain a place above the relegation spots

- In British summertime when the weather is fine
Chompy backs every team but the posh
  When its on the line
He's got Walsall, he's got walsall on his mind

and fortunately for Mungo fenboy they won to go 8th, two points behind Posh in 6th

- Which is just as well as the bet of the century lost at home to Wolves

- and no hopers Sheff Utd lost at Swindon

- Assombolonga is down to 3rd in the League one golden boot after Wilson's brace for Coventry

- no goals for Kee or Winnall in league two

- Bale scored two for Real in their 5-0 win over Rayo V. Bale now has 12 in La Liga. There are 7 games to go. We need <17.5, and it is going to the wire, that bet

Away from the football

- A brilliant performance from ABDeVilliers with 69 off 26 balls saw SA through to the T20WC SF and gave us a chance in the SA Batsman bet

- NZ beat the Netherlands. Their game against Sri Lanka to complete the group is now a QF

Sunday

- Peterborough are in the JPT final, and we have 11-1 ante-post.
- We could really do with Liverpool slipping up and Paulinho scoring a hat-trick
- Everton at Fulham
- Pakistan to beat Bangladesh and set their WI game up as a quarter final on tuesday for the Pakistan bet
- India play Australia and we need Finch to score more than Maxwell to give us a chance on that bet, with Australia virtually out
- Malaysian GP where the Mclaren bets look unlikely

Roll on April. Hopefully we will run good, the boss will have a bit more time to place bets in a timely manner, the absence of which we have definitely been suffering from in portfolio terms ,and we can put Q1 2014 behind us

Tighty. tut tut.

You mustn't be result orientated.

We have been told that the Free Bets are a must do, no matter how often we lose on them. Just suck it up. If we live to be 1000,or haven't gone skint, we may just see variance level out.
