A loss of £304 on Saturday
A few winners in the red sea
- Stoke beating Hull for £72
- Sterling City at Meydan for £69
- Hamilton on pole for £30
Thats it
Deep breath here we go
Four ante post losers were taken
- Cardiff on the handicap -£40. With six games remaining they cannot catch the current 4th on the handicap
- Southampton to go down -£30, has been an eyesore on the spreadsheet for eight months
- Reading to win the Championship -£20

- Portsmouth to win League two -£40
Elsewhere
£100 of losses on the boxing, both a bit unluckily it seems
£15 no rugby league drop goal
£25 Aston Villa, took the lead and then....
Just under £200 of losses on the horses, with one winner from eleven selections (and one free bet for cavalryman in second)
Not meaning to be controversial, or results orientated, or to offend anyone, but the horse betting yesterday just looked odd. I was on the way to Burnley so unable to post at the time but its
- a) very early in the flat season, where form is notoriously difficult (iirc) and fitness has to be taken as read
- b) most of the bets at Meydan where there are very competitive fields, a lot of the form is from 6-9 months ago and we're backing short-priced horses on maths bets.
and yet we had the biggest horse volume for many a weekend. William Hill offer a lot of races with the concession (funny that) and lo and behold the day is characterised by outsiders coming in with the Dubai World Cup itself on by a horse outclassed by many of its rivals last year
The complexities of early season form seemed at odds with the maths attractions to me. There that is off my chest now.
So moving on to longer term bets
- Arsenal's draw against Man City keeps faint hopes of the top three alive but overall is probably bad news as it opens the door for Lverpool, who we have laid for a liability of £195. It never rains...Latest Premier League title odds: Man City 8/11. Liverpool 23/10. Chelsea 6/1. Arsenal 80/1
- Bad handicap results for Newcastle and Hull
- Hull losing and Palace winning was bad news for the top promoted team bet
- Crystal Palace winning good for handicap, outside chance of good for top half, bad for finish bottom. That was Mourinho's first league defeat, as a manager, anywhere, to a promoted side
- Rodriguez two goals means 15 for the season and he is now joint 4th in the standings with Rooney. We have £5 e/w at 200-1 top 4...chances!!
- In the Championship, we can put the Leicester bet champagne on ice. they now need 7 points to go up.
- Nugent scored to go to 18 for the season, but of more import was Vokes' knee injury that saw him off after 5 minutes. terrible timing for us...and McCormack scored again
- Watford's win at Sheff Wed was a big one, up to 11th and 3 points above the bottom half
- Barnsley's second win in a row keeps faint hopes of the top half alive
- Tranmere drew 0-0 and remain a place above the relegation spots
- In British summertime when the weather is fine
Chompy backs every team but the posh
When its on the line
He's got Walsall, he's got walsall on his mind
and fortunately for Mungo fenboy they won to go 8th, two points behind Posh in 6th
- Which is just as well as the bet of the century lost at home to Wolves
- and no hopers Sheff Utd lost at Swindon
- Assombolonga is down to 3rd in the League one golden boot after Wilson's brace for Coventry
- no goals for Kee or Winnall in league two
- Bale scored two for Real in their 5-0 win over Rayo V. Bale now has 12 in La Liga. There are 7 games to go. We need <17.5, and it is going to the wire, that bet
Away from the football
- A brilliant performance from ABDeVilliers with 69 off 26 balls saw SA through to the T20WC SF and gave us a chance in the SA Batsman bet
- NZ beat the Netherlands. Their game against Sri Lanka to complete the group is now a QF
Sunday
- Peterborough are in the JPT final, and we have 11-1 ante-post.
- We could really do with Liverpool slipping up and Paulinho scoring a hat-trick
- Everton at Fulham
- Pakistan to beat Bangladesh and set their WI game up as a quarter final on tuesday for the Pakistan bet
- India play Australia and we need Finch to score more than Maxwell to give us a chance on that bet, with Australia virtually out
- Malaysian GP where the Mclaren bets look unlikely
Roll on April. Hopefully we will run good, the boss will have a bit more time to place bets in a timely manner, the absence of which we have definitely been suffering from in portfolio terms ,and we can put Q1 2014 behind us
