That one is not until Sunday. Hold your horses.
Did you ever row for your lot?

20minute cycle to the boathouse for 6am to get in a boat in the cold and get wet and grumpy? No. Plus, I was too busy in the library.
Here's one for you: heaviest crew has won about 2/3 of the time. That's Cambridge this time by a decent bit.

All the money is going to be going on the classier Oxford boat, with Olympians and medals. Butter Me Up goes 11/4 the light blues. BetFur offers 4.2 in a market with less in it than Pleno earns in five minutes on a Sunday.
CUBC ftw!
Here's the British Telecommunications mobile telegraph office at the 1872 race:

Maybe some impartial people like Ed Gascoigne or Sheriff Fatman could give us their entirely independent opinion?

My dad applied to Cambridge and his interview was going terribly but his own admittance, the last question the panel asked was "Do you row?" he obviously didn't coming from a working class background.
Happy birthday Tighty, was nice of Tikay to give you a joyride on his accounts for the day.

That's quality, Longy! Stories and folklore galore on that topic.
I got asked "If it's raining outside and you go out without an umbrella, do you intend to get wet?" Came out of that interview on the verge of tears after a grilling George Foreman would consider
a bit much
. 12 years on and I'm discussing Strictly Come Dancing on an internet forum. Pretty sure they made the right choice.

I just saw the 365 Grand National offer.
So basically if you bet £250 EW on a horse they return you £125 whatever happens?

Weren't you suggesting we backed Brucey not long ago? No way they'll get rid of him etc. Still 6 months before we can get our betting boots on again and Tighty knows the passwords now. I am going for Concrete or at a push Locomotive.

thoughts on opposing Preston tomorrow given 6 of their players have been accused of spot fixing today?
Can't have been an easy week for them in training/preparation knowing this was hanging over the club.

Any thoughts on Benfica each way?
With Totesport, 1/2 odds, top 2. The rest are 1/3 of the odds.
Any idea?
Best odds on a few too.

Love it, doobs
Do you pin my tips on a board, marking them off as they miss? We can all make mathematically correct decisions using clever arithmetic, spreadsheets and logic but not many can find it in themselves to spend several hours researching worldwide financial experts suitable for a senior position at the Bank of England, prepare and deliver a reasoned argument for betting £1.67 on the wrong one.
Get out of that, son!
Just found this while looking for that erroneous tip of mine:

"I'm in charge" as Bruce Forsyth used to say.
As announced I will be looking after Fred while tikay is enjoying his sojourn in Las Vegas.
I feel fairly well equipped to fulfil this role because, although I am not as old as tikay (or anywhere near), I am equally grumpy so it should be a smooth transition.
By nature I am a cautious man and I will only be making minimum bets unless there are exceptional circumstances
I think that this might be a good time to remember the words of the founding fathers when considering our tips. When making a tip please “make a post with a cogent argument as to why the bet should be made”.
Personally, as a nerd, I love to see statistical justification for bets but other sound reasoning is equally valid. Please don't post tips just because you are lumping your own money on and you think Fred should too. Also, if you are going to use the line “a friend told me that this was a sure thing” as justification can you please include a full CV for your friend so that we can assess his merit.
Examples of justification for tips might be something like this:
1. It's rained on 9 of the last 10 days in Manchester, therefore I fancy a draw in today's cricket
2. The owner of the dog in trap 5 has just told me that he has substituted a ringer and we should put our mortgages on it
3. During the last match I spotted that the Ukrainian centre back has got an artificial leg so back Rooney to score as I don't think the bookies have spotted this
Please include the odds, recommended amount and bookmaker for each bet.
Fred has placed bets based on tips from 71 different tipsters to date. It would be great to get more people involved.
That's all for now.
Let's make some money.
He was good, that Constable Mere.

Seems too good to be true but it looks like a straight cash refund of £125 if you place £250 of ew bets on the grand national. No mention of free bets/rollover requirements. Only thing you need to do is to have opened your account before Weds.
