I might have put this up as a way of getting Tighty's 2014 draft ITT.

I honestly can't see them trading the first pick and the commentators seem unanimous on that, from what I've read.

I'm really asking whether there's value to be found in this market, when there is so much speculation about. Surely, Fred can make better and more educated guesses than some of these bookies?

Nice work, teasing out Tighty's thoughts there.

Note "we will back those, and we will win".

Fighting talk, that.

they might trade it, i'd say a good chance of it. depends who wants whom desperately enough

if they don't the best player in the draft is Clowney

the second pick is definitely getting traded by the way

yes, i think we might fancy our chances in some of these markets. please stick links up when you see them

Excellent. Thank you muchly.

I did see these about the trade:

http://fansided.com/2014/04/17/nfl-draft-rumors-texans-will-take-defender-trade-1-pick/

http://nfl.si.com/2014/04/17/houston-texans-trade-no-1-pick-2014-nfl-draft-2/

But, if this were a soccer thing, it would scream of paper talk. My 'cowpoo' detector is quivering near the brown section.

They have the chance in that division to blood a newbie and bring in competent OL players in front of him. Not many get to do that. I don't think they'd be getting a Cam Newton but the debate that year was whether to get Newton or Blaine Gabbert. Jacksonville ended up with the latter, as the Panthers got Newton.

How important is selling shirts and marketing to an NFL franchise like Houston? How many would buy a Clowney shirt?

It's FAR too long til the NFL season starts and, frankly, I've decided I would like some more money. We will have to make do with the Fred Elders pwning the draft.

Peter Moores back in as England cricket coach.

Not the most surprising news.

its important to all of them. If you have a superstar at any premium position, then their merchandise is bought

this year there isn't a lock down number 1 pick QB, opinions are all over the place on Manziel.

its complicated because misinformation is out there, there are over 100 mock-drafts and a whole industry dedicated to the draft

sifting through that and reading between the lines is tricky

We need at least one goal from Britt this evening to keep it interesting.

Posh a goal down, and a man down, Brisley sent off after two yellows in two minutes.

Thought that's good for the bets of the Century... then checked the table.  Nobody wants that 6th position.  C'mon Britt, some of us are win only.

Had a fun day in Ladbrokes today with arbboy.

We both managed to convert all the cash in our pockets to our Betfair balances on a day when the banks were closed.

Very clever that. Sad

the first round of the draft is thurs may 8th

i would expect to see the PP markets from may 1st ish, maybe if you are lucky as late as monday 5th

this is a useful bookmark http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014, with a few mock drafts (as valid or invalid as anyone else's opinion) to get a flavour for it

the manziel debate puts all the different views out there http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000340924/article/johnny-manziel-zone-love-or-hate-him-but-cant-deny-him

ESPN's Mark Dominik: "I think theres a chance Manziel will fall a little more than ppl think." Suggested #Texans trading back into late 1st.
