Actually, could somebody explain the spreadsheet to me?
Who's bets are these? Just any bets posted on this thread by anyone - or only specific people?
I notice that a hefty amount has been lost on Formula One!
Anyone can get a bet on on the thread. Usually the first bet you suggest gets placed then from there it is a case of tikay or tightys choice. Certain people over time build up a reputation which means they are an "auto-bet" some bets need backing up by other experts sometimes people will put up bets and enough justification that means they will be bet.
It's all for fun, give and take sort of arrangement. A lot of people (myself included) have learnt a lot/made a lot
From the thread and now I'm starting to try and give some back.
There is no harm done in posting your thoughts on markets and people will come along and contribute as they see fit. There is not guarentee your bet will be placed correctly though. Tikay is the king of the miss clicks!

Loosely speaking...
There's a notional guy for the thread, who decides which bets he places on the thread's behalf. His name is Fred. The spreadsheet is the Profit and Loss record for his punting exploits, since tikay gave in to The Camel's persuasive charm and came back to the dark side and started punting again.
Not every tip posted ITT makes it to the spreadsheet. Although "Fred" doesn't bet on everything people suggest (what winning punter does?!), there are people here who follow some tips and, anecdotally, you tend to find winners get congratulated by people who have had a cheeky bet on the tip.
How does Fred decide which tips to bet on? That's one for the Elders...
The Elders are the wiser heads amongst us. Some have specific knowledge on sports; others a general understanding of betting; the rest of us do what we're told. Largely.
F1 seems to have been a variance bludgeoning Achilles heel for Fred. Basketball was IIRC, too. We seem to have turned that around, so only a matter of time before we find a bet on Max Chilton at 2500/1 and get the lot.
Had already typed my response when I saw you had posted and knew you would put it better than me but as I typed it out on my phone I was posting it no matter what :p

Basically is all about fun, different opinions, discovering new sports and how to bet on them.
Also with the occasional advice from the experts you can become a smarter punter.

Also in my time here I've not seen one person say anything to out of line espically to a new poster. When "healthy" debates kick off in here I find I learn more than any other time!!

Dream and Search
2.00 haydock. We actually got given this on debut as the stable thought a lot of it at home. Although on the face of it, D&S has been disappointing since. But it transpires he had been running in severly hot maidens last term. Parbold and Mawfoor being the winners of the first 2. even the third maiden at newcastle the principles have improved since. This horse is bred to relish this extra 3f today and in its last race harry bentley hardly gave him a hard time when it was clear he couldnt win the race, hands and heels for the last furlong of the race near enough. Its coming in fresh today and might have had a few niggly problems, which might explain why it was strongly touted at home and never performed. Its 14/1 tomorrow and i recommend a win bet. If he's anywhere near his potential he could laugh at this mark of 72 today. Albeit if he drifts in the market it could be ominous, that actually D&S is just ordinary. Its encouraging that Quatar racing have not sold him on during the winter and the trainer is in decent form. At 14/1 i think its worth a chance.

Rigoberto Uran win the time trial at a lovely 14/1.
Tonjii knew.
The Dutch went head to head in the Darts Final.
It looked close on paper.
Barney ended up a comfortable winner though.
England won the 1st ODI.
Chris Jordan (who?) excelling.
Beach Football Brazilian style.
Scored plenty like that on Barry Island.
Wigan go second in Super League.
Leeds play tonight.
Hamilton hungrier than Rosberg for title according to Hamilton?
Fred newbie Peter disagrees.
Craig Bellamy retires.
Thought he did last season to be honest.
Later.

Daily Report
Profit on Month £330.95
Outstanding Bets £2747.70
Free Bet £25 Betfred
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=24
A loss of £50 yesterday when Van Barneveld beat Van Gerwen in the PLD final. I probably shouldn't have placed the bet, didn't twig there was an emotional element in the recommendation, so thats down to me

long term
- Sri Lanka lost the first ODI of 5. Doing ok until England scored 79 off the last 6 which tilted the contest somewhat, Sri Lanka then had a rather muddled strategy in their reply. Sri Lanka had lost just one of their last 20 completed matches in all formats before last night...

- Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Chennai to stay in the hunt for the fourth IPLplay off spot. KingsXI, Chennai and KKRare qualified, Sunrisers, Rajasthan and Mumbai are fighting it out this weekend, with Sunrisers needing to win out. Yesterday Warner scored 90 off 45, Dhawan scored 60 and we are left wondering where all this potential was earlier in the IPL

- In baseball the Orioles lost 8-7 in extra innings to the Indians, but the Yankees lost 3-2 to the White Sox so the AL remains delicately poised. In the central, for our Royals interest, the Tigers lost again. This is the white sox star pitcher Chris Sale, who returned from injury to pitch 10 strikeouts and generally look monstrous. I like this picture...

- Friday is a day off in Monaco. There were some encouraging signs in free practice 1 and 2 yesterday that red bull could be closer to mercedes without convincing that they could beat them.

Also yesterday...

I had no idea who this team were other day and had to google it !!

Some teams are actually going the other way and back to original names ie Hampshire and Glamorgan

Leicester appear to have signed Upson to go with Albrighton
Forgive me if i am very very underwhelmed with those two signings for a top half finish, let alone staying in the league!
