Lol @ sniper.

A good draw is now a bad draw?

I explained my reasons....do I ever pick apart your bets?

Do I not congratulate you every time you have a winner?

Why the need to have a dig/pull apart most of the racing bets I put up? i never see you dig at others with a far worse record than I on the Tips area.

Do I not have a good enough record to be worthy to help people out when asked?

Do you ever stop whining?  The whole point of the thread is to discuss the bets that people put up and whether they are good value or not so the question was a perfectly valid one as are most questions around a bet yet you seem to think that your opinions are above being questioned and want to get into it with any and everyone and, as a result, are making Fred a shadow of what it once was.  well done.

Hi Red,

I'm really surprised at this post. If you really think the thread is a shadow of the thread it once was then can I put  a more logical reason to you?

Some of the more regular posters from the past are now not posting bets because they are working for a tipping line. That tipping line has certainly targeted this forum and even this thread to entice members. Some people might think this is certainly not in the supposed spirit of the thread and prefer not to put anything up on here for various reasons, maybe fear of knocking in the prices or that some of the stuff on here might be used on the tipping line or at least used for personal betting by people running the tipping line.

For example mate months ago I could read your thoughts on football, Neil's horses and other stuff and you could read my thoughts on say golf or other bits and pieces. Now, your thoughts have to be paid for, Neil's too. Why should I or other people continue to post their thoughts for free when others are now charging?

You can bet your own thoughts on footy and say Horseys thoughts on footy when he posts if you wanted but Horsey doesn't get to know your thoughts on footy in return anymore unless he pays you. When did that become the ethos of the thread?

I think your dig at Adz is a bit out if order really, it's as if you haven't considered that the reason the thread might be different now is that a tipping line has been allowed to use this thread to attract clients and altered the whole thread in the eyes of others.

Now some might not mind and be happy to just enjoy the banter and join in with a few bets but blaming Adz for any change in the thread is strange.

You and I have never had a cross word so this isn't just a dig, I just don't think you have considered how the actions of some people have changed the thread for others but have called out someone else that you believe has changed it for you.

Cheers

I wasn't really planning on posting further in response to what Adz has posted because I don't really want to get into a pissing contest with anyone but I guess as you have posted, and it is in a polite manner it deserves a response.

Firstly, the idea that I am now not posting because of work that I am doing for a tipping line is ludicrous.  I have never been a prolific tipster here.  Some days I have 20 bets.  Even at my most prolific on Fred I possibly tipped something once a week.  My input into Fred has always been much more based around theory and education and there is nothing stopping me from continuing to do that.  Over the past few years I think I have put a lot of time and effort into Fred and I have never asked for anything in return and have no intention of doing so in the future.  Not only that but I didn't, at any point, mention my involvement with Betting Emporium.  It isn't as though I came onto Fred and made a big deal about it or said anything along the line of "if you want to read my views now you will have to sign up exclusively with BE to hear them".  Its not my style and, without speaking for them, its not Joe or Neils style either.  Blonde has an affiliate deal with Betting Emporium which is promoted through the thread on BE so from that perspective if they have "targeted" Blonde then it is no differently than, for example, DTD have targeted Blonde.  That is a business relationship and a perfectly legitimate one and I am sure that if anyone thought they were overstepping the mark then they would mention it.  In terms of my work for them I am not going to apologise for it.  I work very hard and put a lot of time and effort in and I hope it reflects in the work that I produce.

In terms of a negative impact on Fred, the thread was always about much more than Neils and my posts.  It seems a bit like criticising Pleno for signing a deal to do some videos for Pocarr because it will affect the pha board and whilst I accept that my post earlier was probably a bit heavy handed and certainly could have been worded better my point stands.  Fred is all about discussion so for Adz to suggest that somebody shouldn't question his bets seems ludicrous and everytime I come onto Fred these days he seems to be in a ruck with someone else who he perceives to be in some clique that is out to get him.  Chompy is one of the best judges of racing I have ever come across so if he has a view on the draw of a horse that Adz has put up I want to know about and if Adz then has a go at him for that then that is going to dissuade him from posting (or at least someone with thinner skin anyway) in the future and that has to have a negative impact on Fred.  I have posted some stupid things on here in the past.  Only last week I was under the impression that True Story had only run twice and that was a major reason why I thought the horse was a good bet for the Derby.  Doobs put me right (I had missed its entire 2yo career) and in the process saved me going in and betting the horse again.  Doobs has corrected me on a few other things in the past and if I had turned around and had a go at him then perhaps he would have just left it on that occasion causing me, Fred and anyone that follows to have a bad bet.  I for one will certainly never discuss anything that Adz puts up even if I had a major negative for it because I know how he would react and it isn't worth the hassle.

Anyway the Camels post the other day resonated with me and if this stuff bothers me so much then perhaps it is time for me to take a bit of a sabbatical too.

Good news from the game :

Sanchez got a 9.3 from whoscored could not ask for any better there.

Valdivia scored but i really feel we could have got the lot there never mind.

Bad news from the game :

World Cup day 2, where to start?

Dos Santos was robbed not once but twice having perfectly good goals ruled out.

Which meant Peralta's  winning goal was somewhat fortunate.

Fred was on following Neil's recommend, I again missed it.

I may have looked something like this when the goal went in.

A great save at the death gave Mexico the win.

What to say about Holland and Spain?

Holland back to the total football team of the 70's?

Chile beat Australia 3-1.

Valdiva netting the second.

Alexis Sanchez was imperious though.

He's 6 ahead with 36 to play

this price is attractive? or he can be opposed?

Hes currently 4/5 on the exchange, if 8/13 is attractive we should be getting on there?

I can't remember ever seeing a football game priced up like the England game today

Eng 2/1
Draw 2/1
Italy 2/1

This as rare as I think it is ?
