Best I can recall in a goodly while. They genuinely raced every yard.

I think you've done well. The race is filthy for each-way as witnessed by the fact that someone want 2.2 a place on Betfair about a horse (your Cliff) that "trades" 14-22 to win.

There are five horses in this race having their 3rd run and with most of those looking to finish down the field and get a mark that makes it very uncompetitive. The two unraced on the flat include one who has been tailed off in bumpers. Favourite Hanno was only gelded 44 days ago, quite a quick return for me to bet him at odd-on after such a traumatic incident.

The only downsides are that these bets kill accounts very quickly and given it will most likely come either 3rd or 4th you make very little (definitely +ev but a good account is worth so much more). The other small thing is the Ponte ground is firming p and Sunday is the day of the week with most non-runners due to the early declarations. If 9 was to become 7 you would have a poor e/w bet.

Still think 12/1 is typical of the way the game is going, slavishly follow the machine with no thought. There is £4 at 11/1 £2 at 11.5 and £3 at 14 and a multi-national publicly quoted company are basing their trading decisions on that. God help the share holders.

Sigh.

Someone told me "wait for the share price to turn", so I did. Think that was in 1991.

I met, & have come to know, Richard Glynn quite well via some occasional stuff a bookmakers collective does for GOSH, & he's actually a really nice chap. All things considered, I resist the temptation to talk shop.

He never replies to complaints nor does his "customer care team"  I have an odds on card that I had been using for quite some time and enquired a month or so back about the points on it and what they were worth only to be told there was 0 points so after a bit of searching  stuff in shop and the manager phoning head office still nothing I was advised to send an e-mail cto customer care which I done, I got a standard reply telling me how to find answers on the website that took 9 days to come through I then e-mailed Mr Glynn and I still haven't had a response.

I just sent him a "Notice before action" letter as it happens. That woke him up enough to find out what I wanted and leave it with a different guy to look at. The new guy now went on holiday and did bugger all, so I'm about to sue them.

 Fun times.

Hi Neil,

I sued Ladbrokes a number of times successfully about 6 or 7 years ago in the small claims court. They paid up before it went to a hearing.
But the final time I sued them they managed to convince the judge that I couldn't sue them in the UK but that they were based in Gibraltar and I needed to sue them there. This precluded me from suing them in the small claims court and so I didn't peruse it.

Pretty sure they'll pay this one before we get that far. It's ridiculous really. Has taken 6 months and 50 hours so far.

Hanno just didn't have the balls for it. 1.2 in running, mental. Good job on Cliff.

Think the race only went off with 7 runners, one didn't load in stalls.

Shit, sorry, what a rub-down. I bet 3 in the ASCOT 5.20. Waited until after the 2nd so they could decide if they were running as it was on 16. Got the bets on and then immediately fell to 15.

Frustrating, especially when there's 8 at the start :-)

Neil do you mind saying what the action your taken against Laddies is for? Is it something anyone on here could ever complain over.

I feel that in general people don't complain enough or when they do they don't go through the channels they should ie internal complaints departments who more often than not say "sorry" mistake  but mistakes are made blah de blah.  I could count on one hand the number of times I have received nothing back and I have made numerous complaints over the years.  Not just with the books but in general.  And it pays off.

I have literally been robbed, but I think I shouldn't say exactly until I get paid.
