Until last week Singhee hadn't been on the forum for nearly two years. It is great that he is back

Since that time though the majority of bets are now placed by me, and personally i find it far easier to have a few lines, a paragraph, or a couple of bullet points of reasoning for a bet

this helps me put the bet on knowing it is based off something logical. After all for the thread it is not my money

It also helps others to know the reasoning so they can question, agree or disagree or point out mistakes if it happens to coincide with an area they have knowledge in

i agree that some posters are auto-bet but its not too easy to pile £100+ onto something with one line, whoever posts it

that said, i wasn't in a position to do yesterday's, but thats the process i think we should follow.

Not everyone wants to do War Ant Peace but putting down some of the reasoning and research is what can set us apart

2 years, how time flies, never realised
I only dip into the thread now and again, too much content to keep up to be honest. Can understand your reasoning though.

Singhee, keep putting 'em up, sure the rest of Fred enjoy 'em thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up

Chelsea to win to Nil @ slightly better than Evens.

Seems a decent bet, or am I being an Icecream?

Don't answer that!

Fwiw at the prices the correct price was 2.27 so it wasn't value. They rarely are to be honest because the firms use their win and total goals prices to price them and then add in more margin so if you think they are value the better bet is almost always to bet the team to win at the

Thats no problem to be honest i prefer putting up the reasoning...................but the times I dont is when im posting off my phone and i dont have the time

So to clarify i dont have time to put up the reason you would prefer for me not to put the bet up?

No, please post the bet. I'm sure you are auto bet with a lot of people, you certainly are with me.

Hi Redarmi,

I'm looking for something to calculate / FT from the win and total goals prices. Do you have anything or can you point me in the right direction ?

Thanks

but the earlier the bet goes up the better

the likelihood of a bet going up 5 minutes before kick off in any sport actually being placed for the thread is pretty hit and miss, especially in the evenings

far prefer something to go up as far in advance of kick off as possible, obviously things like team news availability factor into that, in part because that allows other views to be expressed

betvictor instabet app on iphone/android
6/1 costa fgs
£20

Yeah always worth waiting on these things if fred can get on with victor?  The instabet app is pretty much bet blind on most things they put up. You only get 20 mins though and max £20.

you need to give me some specifics please

what sort of size bets at what prices? singles? doubles?

i saw rotherham in pre-season (ground number 91) and was impressed. not going to be an easy place to go and get points

liked the look of swift on loan from chelsea a lot, and they have plenty going on out wide.

Is that English grounds, or worldwide?
And is it current grounds or is Aryesome Park/Burnden Park/Vetch Field etc, in there?

Also
Instabet app I've been backing blind this weekend as I've been super busy have the bets all still been good?

I personally don't think so, but it depends on your definition. Yes,they all beat the Betfair price, but I didn't back any of the recent ones because I didn't feel that they were very likely to happen:

3/1 Dzeko anytime: Although 90+% likely to start, he's not exactly prolific
11/4 Dzeko or Jovetich to score anytime: see above
3/1 Sanchez to score anytime: A big name, but new to the prem so I wouldn't want to back or put in my FPL team - takes most attackers at least a few months to settle/find their feet when coming in from a foreign league   ;-)
5/2 14+ goals in 3pm prem league games: teams often start their campaigns quite conservative, especially when they are quite evenly matched in ability as a lot of these were on Saturday.

instabet is a blind bet when they offer things at evens, or below the £20 max stake, but I do feel that it can be a little like the shop-window proposals - why would they want everyone getting on bets that are likely to happen? When the bets are quite a way better than the Betfair price, I often just lay back for a guaranteed small profit + freeroll sweat because I don't think they're often great value bets to let ride in all honesty.

There is a difference between likely to happen and value.
They may not be likely to happen but if they beat the Betfair price they are almost certainly value.

The Vuelta kicks off in a few day's time and our good friends at Paddy Power are first to market with prices for classifications other than the GC. Unfortunately, nothing stands out at the moment, although they do have a Rider Special which is interesting: Nairo Quintana to win all 5 Jerseys (Classification: General, Young Rider, Points, Mountain and Combined). 14/1 seems like a fair price ... until you realise that the Vuelta doesn't have a Young Rider classification. Free money, eh Paddy?
