Thanks Tal
Backed gd lk tonight all
Detroit routed the Giants last night on both sides of the ball. Kind of ruins any "total Xs" bets. We didn't win.
Per Bleacher Report:
"Detroit dominated the game from start to finish. The Lions defense held the Giants to 197 yards of total offense and only allowed the G-Men to convert on three of their 13 third downs. Eli Manning went 18 of 33 for 163 yards, throwing one touchdown and two interceptions"

Been talking to a good friend of mine who played pro football and recently played at conference level.
He knows that league well and likes Alfreton at home tomorrow night against Altrincham.
I know Alfreton is not the easiest place to go, especially in a mid week game and he says from experience Alfreton are always up for it against other part time teams.
The Altrincham lads are likely to have been working, then got a nasty trip across the Woodhead then down the M1, hardly ideal preparation especially when they are not getting results.
Alfreton have started very poorly but have signed 2 new centre forwards including Karl Hawley who will be a real threat at this level. They had 48% possession away at Barnet on Saturday, ended losing the game 2-1 but lead for a lot of the game and had a player sent off.
I've backed Alfreton at 7/4 and recommend £20 at that price.
We have Alan Alger doing non league football for us on Bettingemporium and he put this up early at 9/5. It's his biggest bet of the season so far for us. Maybe make it £40 for Fred although best price now 33/20. You can read Alan's write up for free here
http://www.bettingemporium.com/tips/index/54
i split the difference on this
trying on the exchange to get £30 above 7/4
Altrincham are favourites, as of now.
Who am I to question the expertise of these kind of folk, but have to say really surprised by this. I had an interest in the Barnet game on Saturday. Alfreton had 48% yes, but only 2 shots on target all game! They've only scored 4 goals all season, and haven't won a game since March 2014 - a run of 15 games.
Shipping in 42 in total and over 3 per game this season (although Grimsby scored 7 of them) All I'm sure have been noted and them some by those above. At home they've let in 2 - 3 - 3 so far.
Altrincham come in to the game having won for the first time in 3, so will be boyed by that too.
As a result of all this, and the feeling is for Alfreton, would expect a bigger price that 9.5/7/4?

These videos may be of interest to some of you. The Philly Godfather is a typical yank BS tipster but he was connected to this guy Jim Battista who is now famous for doing time for his involvement in the Tim Donaghy case. Donaghy was an NBA ref that was found to be betting on the games he was reffing and Battista was moving the money for him. I first came across Battista when he was betting at a firm I was trading director for and his business on the NFL was the sharpest I ever came across so I can attest to the fact he is the real deal. The punters he refers to that he moved for are The Computer which is Billy Walters (he has him absolutely spot on in my experience in how he describes him), the Englishman is Tony Bloom who a few of you know, The Greek is Spiro the guy I worked for for a few years in Jamaica although Spiro isnt the actual handicapper/originator and the Chinaman is a guy called Tran I assume based in LA. If anyone is interested in reading more about it all Battista wrote a good book called Gaming the Game about it all

Aussie Rules
Knockout time in the Aussie rules finals. The game i am looking at is Fremantle v Port Adelaide. Although Fremantle at home is a bit of a fortress, Port Adelaide are absolutely flying at the moment and are on a roll. I watched Port dismantle Carlton a few weeks ago, and last week made the form side in the league at the moment (Richmond 8 wins in a row) look ordinary. Indeed the game was all over at quarter time (42 - 7). This game will be close, Port narrowly losing at Fremantle 4 weeks ago when poised to win. A big loss for Fremantle from that game is the loss of Valentine (man of the match) and stopping the hard running Port team will be difficult. Its obviously a gamble but 2.5 to win with bf looks a bet. Suggest 20 quid . Gl all

No bets completed yesterday
The Switzerland to top group E bet at 5/2 got off to the perfect start with a 2-0 home defeat to England. Bets aside, nice to see counter-attacking football from England

We have a bet on the San Diego Chargers to win the AFC West and they lost their first game, surprisingly, 18-17 to the Arizona Cardinals. Not ideal when you have Denver, who won't lose many games, to get past to win the division
In baseball a key series started, the first of six games between the Kansas City Royals and the Detroit Tigers that will decide the AL Central. We are of course on the 7/1 underdogs, two games ahead going into the matches. In the first, the Tigers won 9-5. The Royals need to split this series, and if they don't will struggle to close out the division so this was a disappointing start
In the AL East the Baltimore Orioles continue to close in on the division, beating the Boston Red Sox 4-0 to go 10 games ahead with only 19 to play

News from France that Frankie Dettori has been jocked off Treve. We have a variety of bets, Arc related mostly, on Treve who is coming back from injury....to win the arc, to win the arc by 2+ lengths, to win three group 1's in 2014. I think she has a prep race this weekend coming up

I didn't see our Vuelta KOM man feature at all in yesterday's mountain stage, won by Ryder Hesjedal, nor did he finish in the top 55 over 9 minutes behind the winner. Yates presumably is out of the running now?

Our Indyref bet is as follows
29-Aug arbboy ladbrokes sept-2014 misc. independence referendum Yes 45-50% 7/2 50
this is currently trading at 11/8, offered in one place
http://www.oddschecker.com/politics/british-politics/scottish-independence/yes-vote-percentage
the last few days have seen a big close up in the polls
- On Saturday night the YouGov poll put Yes ahead for the first time, 51-49
- later that evening Panelbase released as follows
Yes: 44% No: 48% Undecided: 8% Excluding undecideds Yes: 48% No: 52%
- In the Sunday times, economist david smith highlighted the big momentum in the yes vote
- Over the weekend, the Westminster Unionist parties decided to launch "devo-max" in attempts to sway undecideds back
- last night the TNS Poll put Yes on 38%, up six points on the company’s previous poll in late July and early August, while No are just marginally ahead on 39%. (Don’t Knows, always relatively high in TNS BMRB’s polls, are unchanged at 23%.)
That No lead is so small that once the Don’t Knows are eliminated, Yes and No are both on 50% (as is also the case of we only look at those who say they are ‘certain or very likely’ to vote). This represents an eight point swing to Yes, and is by far and away the highest Yes vote recorded by TNS in any of their polls.
- and the Press has been really ramping it up this morning

and for us English, if you took the Scottish MPs away in 2010, the Conservatives would have had a majority of 20

so, its all to play for. Momentum with Yes, into 2/1, No 4/9
