cirrus des aigles 9/4

to beat free eagle and noble mission!

The multiple group one warrior against a hype horse and a former dog who has beaten up weak fields all season.

At a 1/4 odds 9/4 Cirrus is one of the better each way bets of the season imo.

Like Fred I followed Hector's excellent tip for Sr Bautista-Agut in the Kremlin Cup.

The EW terms are 1/2 odds 1-2, so I thought it prudent to save my stake by betting on Gulbis to win the semi-final @ ~10/11.

Pissing equity against the wall or sensible strategy?

Not sure if League One has been covered for today but the stand out price looks to be Notts County at home to Crawley.

Few reasons:

Crawley were dire last week. Notts County is not the place for a bounce back result.
County are unbeaten in all comps since playing Bristol City at the end of August.
Josh Simpson (CM) and Izale Mcleod (Main Goal Threat) are both doubts.
County will be expected to perform as its a price reduction day and everyone will want a good result to get some floating fans back.

364 and Viktor have them at 6/5.

I'd suggest £20 on this and maybe float £10 on Notts County -1, 10/3 with Viktor and PatrickPower.

any views?

A savvy tipster friend of mine has suggested Fort Bastion in the last today. I can't understand why but am afraid to ask!

Anyone?

I'll be back in a month.

I can see a case for Fort Bastion Tal. A very high or very low draw is probably better than a middle draw, the horse has run well here, it stays 1m and although it ran poorly with the 1st time blinkers and in it's last run I would say that the move to the amazing David O'Meara was a bit irrelevant last time as he only had it about ten days from Ruth Carr. Now it's been with him a little longer, it seems a biggish price but there is a doubt on the ground.

One of six or seven I could bet but definitely would rather be with than against.

For those that can noble mission is 8/1 quarter first 3 in the champion with beteveryday.  Will be risking ridicule by backing every horse but all the bets are sound.  Just beating the bf price and getting 2/1 vs 6/4 the place.  Can't be so bad ?

I understand you are betting all these for value, but strip that out and you will probably make just a few bob, after all is said and done.

Dont you want to watch and be really able to cheer one in?! Isn't that the fun of it? Making money is great, but sometimes I feel hollow when I have backed so many I only make pennies.

Long term great, but short term, meh.

Well I am going to be happy if Cirrus wins, as he has been a great horse, will be really happy if Pether's Moon wins as he had been criticised a fair bit.  Will still enjoy the races I haven't had a bet on.  Many races I back nothing at all,  but it is good to make a bit of money on the side.  Life is just one big long run.
