Here now.

Fifth = £20

Actually, the logic behind the bet no longer applies, with Bozzy's red card being rescinded.

£20 fine, though, could well be a shootout.

So Jaffacake now writes basketball tips for Betting Emporium.

Losing the contributions of many who posted on here regularly.  Perhaps the Fred title should be changed from Tips For Tikay to Trial for BE or TFT to Tips from Hector.

Like myself, he's a big lad, but he's still only one person, and I don't think he has been banned from Fred Cheesy

Tighty writes for BE, and he hasn't gone anywhere.

Joe and Neil own BE, and they both contribute to Fred.

Any overreactions about?

Scottish Labour Leader?

We like anyone here before the prices go up, I have had a qick look can't see any odds with usual suspects.

I'd be interested in Jackie Baillie, she has the ego and ambition.  I think they will stick with a female given that the Tories and SNP have female leaders.   There have been rumours of either Jim Murphy or Gordon Brown taking on the challenge as bothe are persona non grata with the Westminister Labour Party.

Two others who might be worth a mention are Kezia Dugdale and Jenny Marra.  If Jenny could sleep her way to the job she would.

SLab as you know are a shambles and looks incapable of returning the 35 or so MPs they need in May. The Holyrood MSPs list reads like a who's that of Scottish politics. Dugdale and Marra are to young and inexperienced (amongst other things) to do the job.
I think Milliband will feel he needs to send one of his perceived WM big hitters up to sort it out. Brown thinks he's too good for it and it would involve too much hard work (actually turning up every now and again for example), his ambitions obviously lie elsewhere. Alexander isn't going to fancy it with being the shadow Foreign Secretary he would also see it as a step back. That probably only leaves Murphy and Curran. Murphy is the ultimate careerist and you really can't see him pulling the party together, he's also probably the most toxic with the Yes voting Labour voters.

That leaves Margaret Curran. She's been trying to make the right noises over the last week or so, is current Shadow Scottish Secretary and maybe just as important Shettleston is winnable for the SNP in May so she might see it as an opportunity more than the others.

Do we know what the process is?

I think personally they will stick with a woman, I do agree that Dugdale and Marra may be considered young but I also think thats what they need is a whole rebranding.  I assume they will likely try and resort to moving to the left.

I think Shettleston is a constituency the SNP can win, therefore pressure is on Curran.  I along with a few others have already come up with a lovely poster that will be distributed to every household in the Glasgow East  constituency that will apply even more pressure to our wee Maggie.  She is also a very close friend of Johann, not sure if this will be seen as a hinderance given the comments the departed one has made about Labour MP's.  Curran hasn't long left Holyrood, were she was a bit of a shambles not sure I can see her getting back in there in all honesty.

The above aside following a review of the way the Labour Party operated in Scotland carried out by Big Jim and his wee pal Sarah Boyack  this is how the Labour selections process will work:

Any Scottish Labour MP (Member of Parliament), MSP (Member of the Scottish Parliament) or MEP (Member of the European Parliament) may stand for election as either leader or deputy leader. Successful nomination requires the support of 12.5% of the total number of Scottish Labour's parliamentarians in the Scottish Parliament, the House of Commons, and the European Parliament, with any candidate needing at least one nomination from two of these three institutions.[6] At the opening of formal nominations at the Scottish Labour conference on 29 October,[9] the party had a total of 80 such parliamentarians, meaning a total of 10 nominations was required.

Once the nomination process by parliamentarians is complete, supporting nominations made be made for each candidate by Scottish Constituency Labour Parties (CLPs), trade unions that are affiliated to the Labour Party, affiliated socialist societies, Scottish Young Labour, and individual local councillors.[6]

I have also heard rumours that the SNP intend to send in a big dog against Anus Sarwar at the next GE, rumour has it if you believe the word on the St that Samlond is being lined up for that one and he seems quite keen on the idea from what I am hearing.  So maybe he is a runner in this, but I don't see it.  I honestly think they will go down the female route.

Ffs Laddies have opened a book but I was restricted to £2 on Curran at 25/1 and Baillie at 10/1. Dugdale is 3/1 and Marra 16/1. Sarwar is 2/1 fav, I could have a whole £5 on him, I declined.

This is quite interesting:

Jim Murphy 3/1 with VC and 1/2 with Hills (sure I read somewhere before that Hills have an in with the political betting)
Sarwar is 6/1 with Mcbookie but 7/2 Hills and 3/1 Laddies
Kezia Dugdale - 5/1 at Hills but generally 4/1.

I'd reccoment £20 on Murphy if we can @ 3/1 VC
£15 Kezia @ 5/1Hills

Not happy about being omitted from both Kmac's post and BE's roster.

Absolute fiddle.

Seems that Fred is losing quite a few posters though Joe and Neil don't really contribute here, Neil didfor a while before BE but since that has established he has posted less.  Joe has popped in but wouldn't say he was a contributor, Red Armi as well posts much less, I feel as if Tighty doesn't put as much up here as he did before BE/Betpal.

Fred has also lost The Camel and Bobby1 assuming thats related to the pay services I think Bobby has commented on it before Camel not so much but he has said recently Fred just makes him unhappy and this was hos favourite and also his baby.  Big Adz doesn't post as much either.

TAL is obvs the next big thing and will no doubt be picked up.

Too late now. That ship has sailed.

Try cheering up a bit, tho, eh? It's not all doom and gloom in the world.

We had this before.  Sure Neil has shown he posts more now than before Betting emporium.  Tighty probably doesn't post as many tips, but he was tipping elsewhere before BE, so hard to blame BE completely.

Anyway, think we now have space for a flouncer.

Yeah, they're all leaving in droves Cheesy

Neil, and Joe may not contribute a lot, but they do contribute, and most of the BE stuff is free anyway.

We've only just got Keith back posting on the forum, thankfully. So him not posting on Fred isn't a sudden thing, and he's posting in the nags section.

Adz posts when he's not gallivanting around europe buying land, and whacking the expense account.

Bobby flits in and out, too.

Personally i probably do a few less tips, but thats nothing to do with BE, more just the time i have to do the work i want to do to put them up

also the reporting/bet placing/admin is something that takes time, compared to when tikay did it. particularly at weekends when a daily report can be a couple of hours work

still got tips on the go on here for NFL, Rugby, Politics, football and its the cricket off-season and the World cup is coming

joe, neil, redarmi, bobby1 etc all post regularly and any input from experienced guys like this helps us all

overall there is a £4064 outstanding book and over 30 tipsters have "live bets"

as tikay says to me, we can't force anyone to post. some days its not a busy as it was, some it is, goes through phases
