No I am very firm on this Adz, and you are wrong if you think otherwise

as well as not putting a name to any losing bet in the reports, which is something tikay started, i don't criticise any losers

i take the mick out of all sorts, for example Southampton is an easy target at the moment. last season i put up a dreadful one for barnsley and ripped myself to pieces on it in print each sunday morning

but you won't find me being too cutting on anything that has been put up when it actually loses.

Too many late nights I think Tighty.....

One mans micky take, is another mans barb. FFS, I should know, I have been accused of it here often enough, and probably by you at some point.

I could pull out a variety of comments you have made that I have thought, "Ouch, X won't take that well" etc. I  am sure all have been made in good humour, but we all read things differently. 95% of my comments are made in good humour, but I have a fan club waiting to turn them into something else. It happens.

Not getting into a big arguement with you over it. Its just my opinion.

the problem is, you don't understand nuance.

Fortunately most do.

Pelicans name change last year when Charlotte wanted the Hornets name back as they were originally called in their first season way back in late 80s ish.  I think the team mvoed to NO via change of ownership and became the NO Hornets then Charlotte became the Bob Cats for a few years.  Last year Charlotte returned to being the Hornets (not sure how this happened) so the NO had to think of a new name and the Pelicans is a well known bird i think in the area with some local significance and they decided on that name.  I haven't wiki'd that just what i remember from the top of my head so happy to be corrected.

Talking of which......

There was discussion the other day about Sports Franchises in Las Vegas, & why they may or may not happen, & I spotted this yesterday - talk of a NHL Franchise in Las Vegas!

http://nypost.com/2014/10/24/las-vegas-could-be-the-new-home-of-an-nhl-team/

Curiously, one of the movers behind the discussions, is one Jeffrey Pollack, who was at one time the WSOP Comish. He is not awfully popular, but he & I seemed to rub along OK, & he was always very polite & respectful towards me.

He has quite a CV actually, previously with the NBA, & then it was him who helpped turn NASCAR into the huge deal it is today.

Of course, after his WSOP tenure ended, he became associated with the ill-fated Epic Poker debacle, so that did his CV no good at all.

Bit of a dandy dresser is Jeffrey.

Still struggling to find value on the USGP markets this weekend, perhaps the loss of Marussia and Caterham have brought prices back in line with where they should be (for some reason, who knows!)

Anyhow .. I do have a couple of bets to suggest.

Betfair
Race Winner: Nico Rosberg @ 11/10 - suggest £20. Both he & Hamilton are pretty much equal favourites to win the race today. It's my years of F1 experience telling me that Nico will be unbeatable today - phenomenal performance in qualifying. It should be noted that, when I looked about five minutes ago, both Lewis and Nico were over evens on the Betfair exchange. Some value there if someone wants it! Of course, it's not just a two horse race, but, on the other hand, it kinda is ..  Tongue

Bet365
Group B (MAG/BUT/VET/RAI): Sebastian Vettel @ 9/2 - suggest £5. Sebastian does start from the pit lane today - a massive disadvantage. However I do feel like 9/2 represents value, especially if we get a safety car during the race to bunch up the field.

Your team has managed one win from its seven games. What do you have to say for yourself?

"Football starts in November"

Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach, Lovie Smith, does actually have a good record in the eleventh month, but in a sixteen game season, denying the existence of Autumn is not going to fool anyone.

To paraphrase Groucho Marx, there are some fantastic matches this weekend in the NFL. Tampa Bay @ Cleveland most certainly isn't one of them.

But, I think there are some overreactions, perhaps just caused by the momentum in the public's eye. Cleveland might be 4-3 but they're hardly setting the world alight. Just ask Denard Robinson (who?), the Jacksonville Jaguars running back (yes, they have them!), who managed 127 yards the other week. They have a choice between a mediocre journeyman quarterback and an unpolished rookie, which the elder statesman will get the nod for. Hoyer put up some good numbers last week, but he could easily have thrown interceptions. His primary targets aren't available and that's obviously going to hurt his stats.

Tampa are far from the worst 1-6 team you'll see and most of their losses have been by small margins. In Mike Glennon, they have a QB with a slow release in front of a poor offensive line, which is not really how you deliver results: completing 56.8% of his passes. Their defence is somehow even worse.

This could easily be a game between two cellar dwellers, but Tampa will feel they're due a win. The 7 point handicap available seems like a big gamble, because this is hardly a Cleveland team firing on all cylinders and looking to dominate four quarters.

Tampa will likely utilise their rookie running back, Charles Sims, who could cause a stir ahead of an uninspiring Bobby Rainey. They do have talent at wide receiver in Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson (the latter should have a huge height mismatch to his benefit), if they can get the ball that far.

Tampa -7 with BMU at 20/21.

What says Fred?

For the little it's worth, despite investing a daft amount of time today on this game, I couldn't really find a good individual market match up. If pushed, I'd take under 4.5 sacks, because Tampa leaked five last week and will likely have spent some time working on that this week! Cleveland aren't hugely threatening in that department.

Anyone playing in  the New Eng and Denver game its snowing sideways there at the mo, obv plenty of hours left til kick off but its forecast to be windy and wet at kick off too. Brady one of the best bad weather qb's I've ever seen so might be a leveler.
