Marcus mariota won the heisman last night.
Proper case of an amazing value bet last year that got scuppered by injury. Likely to be the no.1 pick in the NFL draft next year.
Wow, we were a year too early.
Was looking to see how he had been doing a couple weeks back, and posted here that it looked like he was going to win.
Looks like he didn't just win -
Mariota received twice as many points as second-place finisher Melvin Gordon, the record-breaking running back out of Wisconsin. The other finalist, Alabama receiver Amari Cooper, was third.
Mariota received the second-highest percentage of possible points (90.92) in Heisman history, behind only Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith, who had 91.63 in 2006.
2006 : Troy Smith 91.6%
2014 : Marcus Mariota 90.9%
1998 : Ricky Williams 85.2%
1993 : Charlie Ward 83.8%
2010 : Cam Newton 81.5%
1968 : O.J. Simpson 79.3%
2013 : Jameis Winston 79.1%
there is an interesting game, in what would ordinarily be one of the most forgettable thursday games, coming this week
Jets v tennessee
this is a very weak QB class. Winston is the number 2 but very high risk due to off field problems
there probably isn't another first round qb on talent
tennessee need to lose out to get the number one pick and mariota, and they need him badly
you could argue the jets need him too..and they play each other. who will play to win and who will tank? well rex ryan at the jets is going to be sacked, so won't give a toss about next year..more interested in winning to get a job next year, probably as a dc
the tenn coach whisenhunt is in his first year and will stay
this is the year to have the number one pick, real scarcity value at the position so whoever has it can pick mariota or auction it for a real haul of value
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000407751/article/updated-2015-nfl-draft-order-top-3-needs-for-all-32-teams
currently the jets are set to be only the 3rd 2 win team in the last ten years to be a point spread favourite in the last three weeks of the season
quite interesting game thoery implications for prices in this game

DeVier Posey starts at WR for the Texans today. 13/2 anytime T
D with beteveryday. They only have four wide receivers and two of those are slot receivers. In a game where Fitz will need to get chucking, this looks a nice bet.

Mike Evans might cost us the Kelvin Benjamin OROTY bet but boy what a prospect he is! Another superb touchdown from Evans.

They are not laying anything more than £15 but i am more than slightly surprised the wimbledon champion is 13/2 to win this
