It is the NFL Pro bowl tonight

its an exhibition, and i wouldn't normally be putting it on here (last year we lost on a small bet on the game)

i do have a little bit of info though from following people on twitter who have been at practices

Team Irvin have been practising reasonably normally, warm-ups, stretches, plays implemented for the game

Team Carter have done walk-throughs, nothing at match pace. players were spotted at practice in Raybans. Far more of a relaxed scene

last year the over under was set at 89, a record high and the game finished 22-21

the points line for this year opened at 79, and has been whacked down to 73 first and now 66

the NFL is now in a second year of trialling rule changes in the game as follows

"  The addition of a two-minute warning after the first and third quarters.
The clock will now stop if the offense fails to gain at least 1 yard.
The game clock will start after an incomplete pass except inside the final two minutes of the first half and the final five minutes of the second half.
Defenses will be allowed to play cover two and press coverage (In past years only man-to-man coverage was allowed).
In an attempt to force teams to operate their two-minute drill, both teams will be forced to change possession at the end of each quarter.
In an attempt to speed up the pace of the game, the play clock will be changed from 40 seconds to 35 seconds.
Kickoffs have been eliminated and each team will start with the ball on their own 25-yard line."

a final one is the width of the goal-posts has been reduced. not that the pro bowl will see many field goal attempts.

we have defenses able to play "properly", changes of possession at the end of each quarter etc so you can see why the line has moved so dramatically, it mght still be too high

http://www.oddschecker.com/american-football/nfl/team-irvin-at-team-carter/total-points

we also have one team possibly taking it more seriously than the other

anyway the team that has been practicing properly is the dog, for what it is worth http://www.oddschecker.com/american-football/nfl/team-irvin-at-team-carter/winner

for anyone who has to bet on it ( )

I couldn't bet on anything in this game.

Year after year it surprises me what happens, it's just an unreadable game. One things for sure there will be a lot of trick plays, fake FG's and fake punts etc but other than that I have no clue.

I wish the Carter team would take it seriously though, would be absolutely unstoppable!

Ever wish you could change your sponsor's hashtag for one press conference?

Thanks for the tip of Dumoulin. Got on at Boyles so I got paid place money for 4th. Might inspire me to follow cycling this season again. Used to love it before I got tired of all the drugs in the sport.

A golf sweat for tonight if we wanted an interest. Ryan Palmer ew at 11/2 with one of the firms that are betting 4 places. Think it's PP, Satan or Boils.

Rec £20 or £25 ew.

It's pretty wide open but a few near the top that don't jump out as being strong finishers, Thomas is a good player who I like a lot but not a lot of evidence as to how he will handle going into the last round with the lead.

Palmer shot 4 under yesterday but what I liked is he played much better than that but abs butchered the par 5's, making bogeys on two of them and missing from 6 feet on the last. He couldn't have shot worse than 4 under really so given he is pretty solid and in good form he looks an ok ew bet if we can get on at 11/2 with a firm paying 4 places.

Cheers

No worries Smiley

Villa 1-0  up against Bournemouth in the cup, which wouldn't do Lambert any harm.

Anyone looked at the Oscars?

Can Boyhood really be that short for best picture? Saw it the other day, was like a three-hour episode of Party Of Five.

The Oscar nominations are all out

http://www.theguardian.com/film/live/2015/jan/15/oscars-nominations-2015-live

http://www.oddschecker.com/awards/oscars

anyone with any knowledge, opinions or value, please let us know in the next couple of weeks

Watched Birdman last night, and thought it was very strange.

From my experience, that makes it a firm Favourite mate!

Birdman won the Producers Guild Award over Boyhood for Best Movie, the last 7 winners of the PGA have went on to win Best Picture at Oscars.

Birdman is best 9/2, Boyhood 1/4.

Thanks very much Marky, appreciated.

I was sent the bet at dinner time, but I was out pokering, and had no internet access, so could not get on.

I went busto at around 6pm, and just got home, turned the TV on just in time to see our man go joint leader at -18 with a nice birdie. BOOMIO.

Perfect, I think, and settle down for the sweat.

Next moment, he is in the water, and looking set for s triple bogey, lol.
