Never backed it, but that was wonderful to watch, an AP masterclass.

Put it up, but it was purely a dart for a bit of interest.

Even the blind man hits the bullseye once in a while

Be firmer next time, less dart more conviction :-)

2nd and 3rd there e/w, bit of a hard luck story for Zarkandar but not the worst result voerall

The Ryanair is a bad each way race, and I can't get any enthusiasm for it.  Don Cossack is 9/2 on BF and 4/1 at bets with the bookies.  Think he is probably the best bet, so won't rec anything unless somebody goes 5/1 tomorrow.

The World Hurdle doesn't feel much better.  You look at it and think they should be quarter first 4 here, but then look and all those who have gone quarter first 4 have ducked the prices.  Zarkandar or Saphir Du Rheu both look ok to me for the Hills offer at 11/2 e/w and getting 4 places.  I know Neil likes the former, but I am biassed towards the latter who has been so good to me.  It just leaves me in a difficult spot, because I don't like tipping stuff I don't back and this is a real heart/head one for me.  I am definitely on Saphir personally tho.

The other one I like is Whisper who I think would be really nice bet if we got 11/1 and 4 places.  Can't get enthusiastic when the choice is 10/1 3 places and 9/1 4 places.

The other one that could be massive is At Fishers Cross, who you could look at if it was 33/1 4 places, but some have ducked this horse horribly and only Stans is 33/1 (coral are 18/1 paying 3 places on a horse that is 30/1 on betfair is abysmal, bet they still restrict half the forum!)  It has been an absolute dodge pot over the last year or so, but a race like this could bring out the best in him.

All very meh.

edit close to calling it a day.  It is late and we've had a good run.  Guess I could be back if I notice anything in the handicaps

Likewise with SDR, and I've been on UTPT from before the Cleeve, too.

Only one I've backed in the new market is Cole Harden, who has just had what is supposedly a successful breathing op.

Haven't been able to get involved as I'm just back from a few days away, that being said I've been following the thread, great shout Marky on Cole Harden, made me think if during cheltenham u followed every horse that was put up on the thread rec or not whether u would still be in profit at the end? It's actually quite delightful how we all find diffent reasons to back different horses yet once they have run it seemed so obvious ie successful wind op was the difference!!! Anyway rec or not the was on thanks to u, great shout.

Big question, would Zarkandar have won if his nose didn't touch the floor?

as it stands we have no exposure to the last race

profits today at cheltenham of £287

overall cheltenham profit £137

one day to go

darna just won at 33-1 but was 50-1 in morning prices.

that might have been our stab at the 15-8 50-1 or over winner gone

on the upside, we have ruby walsh 4/5 top jockey running for us

a preview of gold cup day follows

Really pleased with that Rich, it's been tough this week.

A profit is a profit Tightend,  I am not advising a bet here as I haven't backed a Gold Cup horse myself yet.  The one that sticks out to me is Djakadam, plenty of the other horses will hit a wall at some stage and this one is young in comparison.  Odds are shortening on this one.

Gold Cup day

race 1 the triumph

henderson's peace and co is 5/2 favourite in a 17 runner field

i know a few judges who want to oppose it

its 11/2 bar

e/w 1/4 top 3

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-13-cheltenham/13:30/winner

race 2 the county hurdle

a whopping 25 runners

5 places are around, 1/4 the odds e/w

6/1 the field

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-13-cheltenham/14:05/winner

race 3 the albert bartlett

20 runners

but only 3 places 1/4 the odds

hugely competitive field

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-13-cheltenham/14:40/winner

race 4 the gold cup

we effiectively have 20/1 on sivanaco conti after it won the King George

it is now 4/1 favourite

djakadam has been backed into 8/1 2nd f

many clouds, road to riches, conegree runs, bobs worth reputedly back to form

should be a great race

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-13-cheltenham/15:20/winner

race 5 the foxhunters

24 runners

only one place pays 4 spots

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-13-cheltenham/16:00/winner

race 6 conditional jockeys hurdle

another tough one

24 runners

some 5 places e/w around

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-13-cheltenham/16:40/winner

race 7 the grand annual

a nice easy one to end

24 runners

some 5 places e/w around

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/2015-03-13-cheltenham/17:15/winner

as always, over to you

Think it's a case of the hype machine going mental.

It got smashed to pieces off about 140 in the Hennessy. Granted that it was supposedly not fit, but don't they always say that...

It won what has been touted as a very poor renewal of the Thyestes, albeit very well.

It was a lot bigger, only a short while back.

6 year olds have as good a record in the gold cup, as I do in the dieting thread.

Broken clocks Cheesy

I think it would likely have won, looking how much ground Zarkandar made coming up the hill.

Glad you nicked a few quid, anyway.

I'd probably want to wait on the weather before backing anything for tomorrow, Tighty.

Forecast is rain, which it hopefully does!

no rush at all

again, there will be offers in the morning and hopefully plenty of opinions to go around

personally, i can't get silvanaco not quite running up the cheltenham hill in last year's gold cup out of my mind..looked completely different going round a parkland course like kempton when it looked like a winner after about 3f in that race it was so impressive in

if it then ignore djakdam as being no value then i am starting at 10-1 the field and pounding some e/w's

many clouds (if the rain comes)
road to riches
bobs worth
even lord windermere again

is the current shortlist

which will change by the morning!
