The Minnesota Wild pulled off a shoutout victory over the NY Islanders yesterday, with Zach Parise the hero. Having tied the game in the third period, Parise was then the sole successful shooter in the shootout to secure the two points which, according to the following link, now sees the Wild as 96% chance of making the playoffs: http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/Western.html

Devan Dubnyk kept on rolling, giving up just a solitary goal on 38 shots in his 31st straight start. Next game is Friday night against the Calgary Flames,

So it'll take a one-outer to beat us?

Lovely job, thanks.

How ofen do they play? Thought they played a day or two ago, too.

They play an 82 game regular season between the first week of October and the second week of April so they tend to play every couple of days on average though sometimes it'll be back to back and sometimes there'll be a four day gap. That's then followed by a two month post season which is four best of seven series.

Say what you like about the money baseball players, basketball era and hockey player make, they definitely earn their keep.

That was my point really. Footballers grumble if they play 2 games a week, but I know that in Baseball, for example (admittedly less physical) they play 7 nights per week, think NBA is not far off that?

One of the best things about going to Vegas is back to back MLB on TV every day. If you go to any sportsbook there, you can watch 2 or 3 games at a time.

Which casino is this^

Just adding to rinswun, although Minnesota should make the play-offs they are only 5 pts inside the top 8 and things can change fast.  They are on a great run but they could hit a bad run of 4-5 games and you never see it coming, nature of the sport.  Quite similar to Portland and Okc in the NBA,now just 4 games back.

Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. The entrance to the superb cardroom (now sadly re-located & downgraded) was smack bang next to the Sportsbook.

This was a cracking spoit by StopsleyHatter, & he stuck it up nice & early, 4 or 5 days in advance as I recall.

Well done Mr Hatter, & thank you.

Dover lost 1-0 to promotion-chasing Grimsby Town last night, so the relegation bet is still just about alive.

Just to clarify tighty Portland already own the tiebreaker with OKC (3-0 record in the reg season with 1 game left to play between the teams) so they still have a 5 game lead effectively in the division.

To all the Portland fans out there shitting themselves about doing their nuts/houses/bankrolls/wifes/kids/pensions on a 1/12 shot (which is still 1/10 with the books in a place and 1/35 per the espn stats guru's chart) even after losing the last 5 (all on the road apart from home game to the best team in the league) and OKC winning their last 4 (100/1 9 team acca fwiw to show the likelihood of it happening - yes i know i can get anything beat i have heard it all before!) the okc schedule now gets real.  OKC had 8 of the last 9 at home.  Now they play 4 in 5 on the road including Spurs and Memphis and Dallas at home.  Then they face the Spurs and Houston at home in a brutal 7 game stretch in the space of 2 weeks.  They will probably be an underdog in all 7 games without Durant, Ibaka and two new injuries to key reserve players

Hold onto your hats folks it's never easy buying money in my world when you run as bad as me.  If some books overreact today after another okc win (1/6 pre game against the Lakers last night) and Portland loss to Golden State (2/7 pre game) and go 1/6 or 1/7 Portland for the Division i will be topping up.

I'm so tempted to break the most golden rule of gambling (never bet on facts) and wager that picture isn't Caesars Palace.

Look's awfully like the Mirage to me.

I have never been to the Mirage sportsbook but i have been to Caesars and i would pretty tempted to bet the same as well.  Nearly certain it is not Caesars circa 2010-12 sportsbook.  Unless it is an early photo.  The cashiers at Caesers are/were much more to the right of the set up than central imo.

Biggest clue is Boys II Men, who have been the main act at the Mirage for a while.
